    UPDATE:
On nothing really in particular but for the fact that I am sooooooooooooooo over this liquid diet. On my final week of liquids right now. When all is said and done, at the end of next week, it will be 4 weeks total. I just want to eat some MEAT!! SOMETHING! Getting tired of just Water, Protein Drinks, broths/cream Soups, popsicles, sugar free pudding and Jello and yogurt. Uggghhhhh Today I did sneak and took a small bite of a banana and chewed it like 50 times before swallowing. LOL

I had my plastic surgery on May 29 in Mexico. The first couple of days were pretty rough, but this morning I moved to a hotel. Feeling very good today considering my surgery was so recent. Walking lots. I did not end up having and Lipo or fat transfer to buttocks as there really wasn’t enough fat available to make it worthwhile. I will post some pics when I get home in a couple of days. 😊

So sorry you’re going through that. My husband got incredibly insecure, possessive, and frankly angry right after I had my plastic surgery despite all reassurances from me. It sucks. We’re now legally separated and have filed for divorce. Even so, I have zero regrets about my surgeries. I’m going to live a healthy, full of fun life with or without him. Best of luck to you as you move through the process!

sadly, it's not that uncommon. In some cases (not all, but some), there were issues in the relationship beforehand. A lot of people who lose a ton of weight become more self-confident, and I think they probably realize they don't have to put up with it anymore. In other cases, the non-weight-loss partner becomes jealous and possessive, like kristieshannon's. For whatever reason, relationships change, and sometimes end because of it.
mine actually got better - but it was pretty strong to begin with, and we've been together for decades. My husband never had a weight problem and was/is very active. I could never keep up with him when I weighed almost 400 lbs. Now, I can. If anything, it's made us closer.
so anyway, it varies - but divorce isn't all that uncommon after WLS.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I went through this as well. I reached my breaking point in a 16 year relationship with a covert narcissistic. I was the one who asked for a divorce but it wasn't easy I still loved him it was just toxic and I needed support and to get healthy. A year later with surgery 3 days away I don't regret my decision even if I miss his dumb face sometimes I know I am stronger now.

Not that I know any of your exact situations/dynamics but it sounds like they’re scared they’ll have to start putting in effort to keep you interested instead of assuming you were the one who had to put in the effort. It’s definitely not unheard of for a partner to find comfort in the thought “no one else will be interested so I’m good to do/say as I please…” (I’m not implying they were ever correct with that assumption (they were not)).

It sucks that some people just can't be supportive. I am close to being 9 months out, and my husband is extremely jealous and trying to be controlling of me especially now that the warm weather is here. He tried to tell me that I wasn't "allowed" to wear shorts. I just laughed and told him I will wear whatever I want. (I never wore them when I was heavy so now he is having a fit). Not that I am going to look like a stripper and wear super short ones, but he is still having a fit over it. I told him that if he doesn't like it, he can divorce me. When I said that, he kinda backed off a little. Now he just grunts at me when I get dressed for the day. Oh well!

I love roasted cauliflower! I like mine to get a little crunchy. I spray a little olive oil to it first and give them a toss. Then i sprinkle on seasonings. Mostly the same ones you mentioned. I like a little kick, so I use a Cajun seasoning also. Very good! Definitely prefer fresh over frozen.

Ricotta Bake--8 oz. Ricotta, half cup grated parmesan cheese, 1 large egg beaten, 1 tsp Italian herbs, salt & pepper, half cup Pasta Sauce, half cup reduced fat mozzarella cheese. Preheat oven 425, mix all together but sauce and mozzarella. Put in baking dish, top with sauce and mozzarella. Bake for 20-25 ,minutes. Let cool slightly.....yummy and I don't even like Ricotta

So I do this fun thing and meal prep and bake when I’m stressed until I’m too tired to care anymore. Sooooooo….

Caesar salad, red onion balsamic jam, garlic spinach (it was a whole bag!), roasted carrots and potatoes, and vegan cheesy riced veggies.
Im still stressed so I think I’m gonna make some maple donut mini muffins, southern fried corn (just caramelized onion, corn and sugar but I’m adding garlic powder and a smidge of cumin), some apple butter pinwheel Cookies out of pie dough, and maybe some kind of biscotti and cookies. Thank goodness for coworkers with a sweet tooth!

No thigh pain other than when I was doing a lot of sitting the first few weeks. I would call your dr that could be electrolytes or something worse. As for purées I did a lot of egg salad and tuna. Now I’m on purée/soft foods and I’m trying to add more variety. Every program varies so much though on when you can have what foods. Here’s what a day of mine looks like.

    breakfast: Protein Shake
    lunch: 2-3 cups tuna poke
    snack light string cheese
    dinner Greek yogurt
snack 1 cup ham cut up

my daily calorie intake is anywhere from 5-700 calories I try to walk everyday the only pain I have is by my rib cage in my left side and that comes and goes. I’ve lost 20 lbs since surgery and 34 since preop diet.

I had surgery April 27 and I’ve been doing well no complications so far. Anyways I’m feeling hungry a lot more now but of course I still can’t eat very big portions(2-3oz at a time) I’m getting my Proteins in and my Water. I absolutely HATE the soft food diet and can’t wait to have real food. Anyways is eating 2-3 oz about 5-6x a day ok? I see my team on Wednesday but I’m just curious what everyone else is doing/did.

    Hi Lizonaplane,
    This is kind of typical for me;
    Breakfast: coffee, Okio yogurt
    Lunch: 2oz Pre-cooked chicken or fish, 1-2 oz Avocado, 16oz Protein2O drink
Dinner: 2oz Pre-cooked Chicken or Fish, sliced Tomato.
Snacks: sugar free popsicles, soft fruits e.g berries, tangerines. I avoid tropical fruits.
I mix 16oz of Protein2O with 16oz Crystal Light. Which improves the taste and give me 32oz of Fluid.
I buy pre-marinated chicken from a carniceria (pollo para asar) and fish (Tuna, swordfish, salmon) from a local distributor. I grill or steam them and then freeze them in 2oz portions.
This is working for me as I am not really that picky of an eater, especially since surgery.

SH76 reacted to blackcatsandbaddecisions in What is your 1st major milestone?
Love the idea! My milestones were/are:
    1. Being under 40 BMI -done
    2. Losing 100 lbs- done
    3. Being “overweight” (just reached this!)
    4. Unsubscribing from Torrid and Lane Bryant emails- done
    5. Fitting in my wedding rings- done
    6. Finishing a couch to 5k app- just 1.5 weeks away!
    7. Losing 150 lbs- I’m getting closer!
    8. Hitting a normal weight - still a little way off from this but still working toward it

I never planned for some milestones that were huge for me like fitting in the conference room chairs at work, being able to cross my legs, buckling my seatbelt without struggle, etc.

Oh, but a huge milestone I forgot- onederland! And I’m 6.2 lbs from it, but who’s counting right?

SH76 reacted to SummerTimeGirl in What kind of vitamins should i buy
Just got my surgery on the 19th and the only thing my doc required me to take after surgery was 2 multivitamin chewables (I chose Flintstone's for now), B12, and B1 (although upon discharge they added Calcium to the list which I take the chews). They also told me to add back in my Iron (cause I'm anemic, always have been) and to continue all prescription medication until/unless my family doc changes anything in the next few weeks. The only script he told me to stop was my hydrochlorothiazde since it's a diuretic.
Got all my Vitamins from either Walmart or Amazon.

YMMV of course, the notion of spending a bazillion bux on "bariatric" anything is anathema to me. It's just license for them to charge more IMO. It's been 10.5 months and Wal-Mart's generic Equate equivalent to Flinstones chewables have worked just fine for me. I realize that some people have issues with taste & texture when it comes to medications, food, etc., but I always start with the cheap options first.
