  1. I wish everyone a fantastic journey! Come back soon.... Lanakila
  2. Thanks for the kudos! I'm counting on you all to hold me up when my day finally comes a long, long, long time from now  It seems like the 28th is forever and ever away. Meanwhile, I'll keep living through you guys 'cause you are all so inspirational! :cool2: Lanakila (really my name!)
  3. Only folks on the boards would truly understand why a nice belch, or a good poot, is such a celebratory event :cool2:
  4. Sure....blame it on the hammy fingers :cool2: I'm a little more inclined to think it might be some leftover happy juice  I'm glad that you are doing well and able to post so soon to let us know. Keep us posted  Lanakila
  5. I don't know what the nutritional equivalent is, but I know that I'm supposed to get 50-60g protein and only 25-30 g carbs. I would imagine that most folks are similar...but I'm sure you'll see more replies as the day goes on. Congrats on the date!
  6. Yaaaaayyyyy for everyone! We hope to see you all back after your exciting journey. :cool2:
  7. I hope everyone has a great trip to bandland! We'll be thinking of you :cool2:
  8. Awwww...thanks :cool2: I'm just having fun "collecting" dates and places and I'm enjoying sharing with the group. Can you believe we have 200+ folks getting done this month? It's so exciting! I've even found that Claudine lives about 1.5 miles from here, and another gal less than 10. It's also really cool that we have several couples, an engaged couple, a Dad and Daughter, and a Mother and Daughter. Plus, fee is brave enough to climb back on the horse again! Neato! I like to think that nervous newbies can breathe a deep sigh of relief when they find this board too. We've developed such a warm and supportive community and it's really a haven! Your Band Buddy, Lanakila
  9. You can find a separate sub-forum of folks from Florida here Florida Local Lap-Band Support - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum I hope that you have a bon voyage to bandland!
  10. We haven't even started getting many who have dates later in the month! Group Hug, Band Buddies!:thumbup::wub::wub::wub::thumbup:
  11. Cassie, congrats on you and your guy taking this plunge together! I guess this will be both a banding experience and a bonding!
  12. Zillyanne, just FYI...your body does not use more than 20-25 g of protein at a time...so taking in that 50g for breakfast really did no more than your lunch or your dinner. Protein powders are expensive, so no need using more if your body won't absorb it.
  13. The August 2008 roster shows that there are currently 10 of you that we know about all getting done on the same day. Visit August 2008 Bandsters - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum
  14. You might think I'm crazy, but... I eat baby food if I get to the end of the day and am short on Protein. A teensy, stubby jar of Gerber 2nd foods meats of some sort come in a 2.5 oz. bottle, has 8g of protein, 2 carbs and 100 total calories. They are bland as all get out, but they whop alot of protein in just about 4 regular spoonfuls. I add some Mrs. Dash, or curry powder to make it flavored.
  15. I agree, the EAS went down the drain!
  16. Hi Sammie! Your pictures and article made me weepy. It's so very encouraging when folks like you stop by. It gives me hope! I'd love to see you around here more often. Your wisdom and support is surely welcome
  17. I'm in! Fortunately, I've never been a scale watcher (hence my being here  ) so having to report in on Friday mornings will be a good way for me to keep track. I hope that folks won't obsess too much about their NATURAL FLUCTUATIONS during the week though. All it does is sabotage you  Lanakila
  18. Nina, your new siggie is soooooo pretty!
  19. No, it's not going to matter one bit. The alcohol left your body after just a few hours so the only lingering effect is your concern. Don't sweat it one bit!
  20. Super best wishes to all who are going to bandland on Tuesday. Your band buddies here will be thinking of you!
  21. Misty, have a bon boyage into bandland. Don't worry about forgetting anything...the hospital will have anything you might need...promise! Lanakila
  22. Oh My! I would be gargling with everything in site. I'm too impatient  Please keep us posted on how you are feeling!
  23. When is your date? There are great sub-forums for each month that you might want to check out. Just choose from the Monthly groups on the menu on the main page. I like the New whey Protein Bullets. They come in some fruity flavors and are like liquid Jello. I also like the unjury strawberry Sorbet powder in Crystal Light. Unjury also makes an Unflavored that you can "hide" in pretty much anything, and a chicken Soup flavor too. If you aren't a shake fan, these are a couple of great options!
  24. Don't fret honey, I'll think of you with every bite of my steak! I guess that there is an advantage to being 25 days pre-op, even though I'm really whiny about being "behind" right now. Toe the hard line and stick to the liquids. The band is so close you should be able to "taste" sweet success already
  25. I am really excited for all of you. Have a great voyage into bandland and we'll see you on the other side:thumbup:
