Found some Camembert on sale while picking up more kale and spinach today so had that for dinner with garlic olive oil crostini, 1/3 a croissant and snow peas. The one piece of cheese is from the kids trying it and they aren’t a fan so more for me 😋
Ended up eating a total of 5 crostini, about one whole wedge of Camembert, the 1/3 croissant, and 3 total snow peas. I’m still working on the raw veggies not blended thing. Getting there though!
Also, I may have impulse bought several hydroponic systems over the last month and finally started germinating seeds in 2 of them today! Growing cherry tomatoes, Genovese and Thai basil, thyme, curly parsley, big daddy peppers, pak Choi, curled cress, red fire lettuce, dwarf kale, Chinese cabbage (2 kinds), baby leaf mustard greens, arugula, spinach, Swiss chard, and I think Chinese lettuce. Waiting on another aerogarden 🤷‍♀️ to arrive Thursday to grow some salad greens and move the herbs from the one they’re in now. No one seems as excited about my recent adventure as I do! 😂

While there are meat shortages, Wallace prices haven’t gone up. A few things are out of stock but no price gouging

Long time observer, first time poster on this thread. Thanks for all of the food inspiration. This is my go to smoked salmon slice salad lunch. Looks and tastes more like tuna than salmon to be honest but has a good amount of Protein in it and pretty good calorie wise. There was none left though for an after photo 😂.

I didn’t try anything for a few weeks but found my orgasms were actually more intense! Something to do with circulation being improved with losing weight, maybe?

He’s an idiot! I didn’t have a 4 week appt but they did tell me at two weeks that everyone was all over the map in the first few weeks, they don’t even have benchmarks until 8 weeks in. At 8 weeks in, I’d lost 30 since surgery and they were very happy.

Tonight's dinner: Tenderloin steak, sautéed baby bellas, mashed potatoes with Blue cheese, green salad. I ate it all, and one extra bite of potatoes while I was putting them away.

    Hey all,
This is my first time posting. Its just my husband that knows about my surgery but I wanna share it with you all because today I've reached my target weight Im 7 months post op. I'm 5ft1 and weighted 15 stone before gastric bypass surgery and now today I've reached the 9 stone mark. Getting surgery was the best decision I could of ever made but the hardest thing I've ever done also. I travelled to nord bariatric clinic from Ireland to Lithuania in Dec 2020 solo. I was scared, ashamed nervous and so so miserable. I missed my kids and my husband so much for the time I was away it was scary being alone doing this but I knew I had to do this for me and for them. The first few months are a learning curve post op but honestly things get easier and you adjust. I still enjoy nice food and drink but know my limit. Having surgery has allowed me to feel like me again I feel the head demons are gone and I just feel free. Here are some before and after photos . Best of luck everyone with your journey. Its so worth it

I just wanted to say thank you to all y'all. I found this site a while ago and have been lurking and reading and learning.

The honest talk helped me with a lot of the anxiety I was having about surgery. The photos inspired me so much—so many of you changed your lives and kept them changed. The folks who are really into exercise reassured me that it isn't over (I love my CrossFit, and I can't wait until my weight isn't the limiting factor). And just the fact that so many people's lives improved finally got me over the "shame hump".

I called for a referral, had my initial consultation last week, and am tentatively scheduled for VSG in late August. (My insurance has been frankly amazing. So few roadblocks that I kept checking to make sure they were talking about bariatric surgery.) To say I can't wait for this is an understatement.

I just want y'all to know you're changing lives for me and for other lurkers who haven't clicked that "sign up" button yet. Thank you.

Why would an easy way that works necessarily be bad? It's not 'real' weight loss if it doesn't involve suffering?
    Good Luck,

You’re so newly sleeved so give yourself some time. You probably have a lot of fluids and gas still in you from your surgery. A lot of those foods might have high sodium which contributes to bloat. Lots of Water helps and later, potassium rich food.

WanderingHeart got a reaction from dal101 in Breaking the stall
As of last Tuesday, I was in a 2 week stall. Even knowing it was normal and inevitable, it felt terrible. I let myself feel down for a day and then I increased my Protein intake and started resistance band training (I was exactly 8 weeks out). I also incorporated more potassium rich food to combat sodium bloat.

Today I went in for my 2 month follow up and I’m down 12 pounds from last Tuesday, 32 since surgery, and 45 from my starting weight.

I’m sure the stall would’ve broken on it’s own but I feel good about the adjustments and I’m enjoying short resistance workouts.

Hoping anyone else in a stall right now feels hopeful after reading this!

We have some grocery store in my area that have nut grinders. Salted or unsalted peanuts, honey roasted peanuts, cashews, almonds. The machine grinds them in to butter. It’s a finer texture than jif crunchy, but so good! And nothing but the nuts.

I finally remembered to take pics before and after! This is a green chef meal - kale salad, balsamic mushrooms, and steak. I added a Gorgonzola sauce on to the steak! Soo “yummy delicious” as my kids say.

I used to hate exercising! It felt too hard and boring.
Still, I started walking right away after surgery and it got easier to walk further and uphill. By 8 weeks, I was in the tail end of a stall and wanted to build some muscle mass to boost my metabolism. So I ordered a resistance bands set from Amazon and I love it. Every day, I either walk or do a 15-30 min video from YouTube. Since I can do it in my living room and it’s short, it doesn’t feel like as much of a commitment. I sweat a little and feel like I accomplished something.
The other day after doing a 20 min video, I put on a yin yoga video and stretched and felt sooooo good.
I feel strong and have more energy these days.
