  1. You had alot Of nerves cut so you don’t always feel the restriction this early out. A lot of people don’t really feel it until they get to purées or even soft food. But there are lots of full signals some people do just feel a fullness but others will be a little less obvious. Some people on here have even said they sneeze when they get full.
  2. @draikaina8503 wow, sounds like you are doing really well. Make sure that you give info that fatigue and get your rest though, you recover best while your resting. Yes, The no straw thing is for life with my team. There are a very small few it seems that make this only for like 6 months or a year but MOST seem to have that rule due life. Thanks for the direction of eating new foods. I already had a few today but thankfully so far I’m still good. I think I will do it your way from now on though. It will work out well because of course I have lots of leftovers from all I made today. I totally forgot about the recipes on Baritastic. I have the app too to track food and stuff. I just checked the soft foods and that cauliflower purée sounds good. Not sure about the heavy cream though. I think that may be bad witb the no gallbladder thing. I think that has a lot of fat. I will have to ask. Or maybe just try it with like 1/2 cream and half 1%! Is that like making whole milk. ? Anyways, for anyone who is looking for a way to track progress I second that app. It tracks measurement and weight as well as exercise and water too. And it’s nice that it lets you scan food and create meals to add things easier once you have used it for a while. And it’s free so worth a try.
  3. I have always had more cravings on my period. I have an IUD now and don’t bleed so it’s kinda hard to pinpoint but before surgery and post sleeve I always at least wanted to eat more fat and sugar. Try to satisfy it with healthy alternatives is really all you can do that i know of.
  4. They also sell weight belts. They aren’t super cheap but they would add a little more resistance if that’s what your looking for.
  5. I’m curious. What did you make this morning. I have had had scrambled eggs and puréed egg salad so far. Well a few bites at least. I’m kinda scared to push it. I tried making real mashed potatoes in the food processor but that didn’t work out. They came out real thick and sticky. I added milk but it was still a fail. I’m thinking I will stick with instant for this couple of weeks just to be sure they are the right consistency. Tonight I’m thinking refried beans. I forgot to get salsa but I have fat free cheddar so that should be pretty good. I got my mug warmer today so at least it should be warm ?
  6. I bet what you get in the hospital was same as I got which was heparin for blood clots. The two day nurses I had both said they were supposed to do them in the belly but didn’t want to torture me with my already sore belly so they did them in the thigh.i still baxe bruises so I can only imagine they were painful in the belly. At the time I was in pain so that sounded good. In retrospect I should’ve said I will deal if that’s where they are supposed to be I’m guessing it’s for a reason. Fortunately it worked out okay. The NP at the surgeon who ordered the B-12 just said it’s not uncommon to need it post SADI but because if the gall bladder removal it would be way more likely. (I actually know a couple of people Who had bypass who are in if so it didn’t shock me). She wants me to do them in the thigh. She said it’s a little short needle but I was taking it with me to my family NP tomorrow morning to let her help me the first time. They gave me an instructions sheet for the injection but I have no clue how to use that sharps container anyways to get the needle off. The surgeon said to schedule a follow up with them and I may as well actually do something while I’m there. I am not on any meds that she can decrease which is why I assume they tel everyone to schedule it between a week and two weeks out. I will let you know how it goes.
  7. Okay so maybe it was because I got to see it as diced eggs in the food processor before I puréed it but the purée egg salad isn’t bad. I cut the fat by using half low fat Mayo, half Greek yogurt like the recipe suggested and then cut it even further by using three eggs instead of two but cut out two of the egg yolks. This made around 1/2 cup. I didn’t put any onion in because I’m a little afraid this early out if missing a chunk but I used onion powder and it’s not bad at all.
  8. I really bet if you get word to the right person within a big medical group someone will have some and be happy to sell them to you reasonable if not give them to you free. You could even ask your surgeons office if they know anyone that may be ahead of you in their loss that’s in the medical field. Then ask them to pass your number along with a little note saying what you are in need of. I know some surgical groups even host clothing swaps.
  9. Figures. I’m assuming you checked things like Facebook marketplace too? Maybe even post something at large clinics or hospitals near you. Surely there is someone out there that was a large and needs extra large now.
  10. Have you tried thrift stores for the scrubs? I love shopping thrift stores looking for unique things and deals and I often see scrubs in the stores around me at least. Or even consignment stores. Mayne call around and ask if they happen to know if they have any before you make the trip.
  11. Have you talked to your doctor. If nothing else maybe they can give you nausea meds you can take as needed. Also sometimes when we THINK it’s water causing the nausea it’s actually dehydration that is to blame. I realize that doesn’t help get it down but if that’s the case you may need IV fluids? Although if it’s fine the next day that doesn’t make much sense either. I would definitely talk to your dr. Hopefully it’s something simple. No need to be miserable.
  12. Well scrambled eggs seem to be going down okay.not sure it’s a true test because I am chewing them to liquid because I’m scared but so far so good. Really wishing I had that mug warmer right now. Cold eggs are better than liquids but I’m sure I could be enjoying them more than this if they were warm. Thankfully it will be here today. How is everyone else doing??
  13. I actually didn’t really even think about that part of it but that’s a very good point. I was actually thinking more about straining myself because my incisions are still quite painful. They are lower than the sleeve ones and there are more of them. I had nine in total this time including the drain hole. That may be because this surgery was robotic this time? Or because if the gallbladder addition?
  14. I knew it was a priority from very early out. I Just couldn’t remember if it was day two or four or when EXACTLY. I guess I didn’t express that very well.
  15. Bariatric fusion.com has quite a few recipes that look like they may actually be good when we get back to normal foods. And lots of protein shake and purée recipes too. Just FYI
  16. Yea. I just double checked my post op paperwork and from day 3 I had a protein goal of 60-80g. I did have a different surgery but I’m pretty sure it was quite similar for the sleeve as well. I could see if you had to choose between hydration and protein and your struggling to meet your fluid goal but the clear protein drinks should satisfy both. You may consider giving them a call to double check.
  17. Oops I missed this one somehow. So glad to hear that you are awake and doing well other than the fluids. That takes a little while longer for some. Ooh the gas pain. Ugh. My dr refused to give me like gas ex. He kept saying to walk but I WAS walking SO much that the nurses all knew me but I was there for 5 days. The morning of day 4 I finally did pass gas and it was the greatest. Even the first one brought some relief but within the hour I had done like 7 big ones and I felt SOOOOOO much better. They were able to cut my pain meds by like 75% after that and I went home the next day. Anyways, just keep on walking and relief will come soon. Hopefully even sooner for you.
  18. I was told the same thing about straws. Several months out from my sleeve I did end up using one by accident. I was out and they gave me one and I just forgot. Nothing happened so I went back to them but I wasn’t the model patient either or I wouldn’t have needed a revision so ask your surgeon. Some one else said to think of the sip you would take to test if something is too hot and to start with that. You will slowly increase your sips naturally though until you are drinking pretty close to normal again down the road with the exception of guzzling of course.
  19. So glad to hear your awake and doing fairly well. I never heard that about stomach cramps. Both of my surgeries I had cold drinks and I guess it didn’t add to the pain and cramping but then again maybe it did. Perhaps start with just like one ice cube in a glass and then keep adding annothet until it’s actually cold.
  20. Wow. It all sounds almost doable until you say mashed potato consistency. I went the entire two weeks after my sleeve earring one or two things and just relied on liquids because I couldn’t get past the idea of it. Like I said I got REALLY bored so I’m gonna at least try it this time.
  21. The ones I got are Walmart brand I think. Same concept as Egg Beaters brand if I’m not mistaken
  22. I never thought of the every other day thing. That’s a great idea. I worried about going Cold Turkey and not being regular. (I bet I sound so old with that statement).
  23. Y’all may want to check out that website that had the ricotta bake recipe. It is Bariatricbits.com. There aren’t as many recipes as I thought but it does tell you how to make puréed chicken tuna and egg salad as well as refried beans and tbe ricotta bake
  24. @Greekmom4 that bean recipe sounds good. Is salsa considered a purée though? I guess you can purée it a little more. I’m gonna order some now and try to use my little hand blender with it and see what happens. You have to tell me how exactly you went about making purée chicken salad. Was it totally mush? I am allowed canned chicken and tuna and a little low fat Mayo but that seems like a big jump from liquid to me. @Hiddenroses i haven't experienced that but have heard of lots of weird physical aches and pains, especially back pain that occurs as we lose because our posture changes so quickly. And lots of people do end up needing a cushion when they sit after a while. I’m gonna guess it is the loss. Your first NSV!! Needing extra butt cushion ? @Onemealplan are you allowed the egg substitute? I had never tried them until my pre op diet and they are surprisingly good. The first ingredient is egg whites but they add some stuff to make them taste a whole lot more like regular eggs which is great for me because I really don’t care for egg whites. They are also super soft and moist which is good for us right now. @Hiddenroses I am editing this post to add that now that I am paying attention I am feeling a bit of tingling in my butt cheek. I am lying in an adjustable bed watching tv and I’m actually not in a very comfortable position at all but I swear I just noticed some tingling in the right side and shifted my weight. ? I guess if it happened before I just didn’t pay much attention. I’m lucky that I haven’t had to do any desk chair sitting this week. That just got me to thinking about when will be the best time to get a new mattress. One thing I do remember with the sleeve was that the mattress seemed uncomfortable after I lost a significant ***** of weight. I think it’s because I was not sleeping in my same dented in spot with the posture changes. I flipped the mattress a few times and then ended up switching mattresses with my husband who is tiny because he can sleep on anything and that worked last time but I don’t remember if they have been replaced since then. I’m thinking not so I’m going to have to for sure this time at some point.
