My Bariatric Gripes: The Daily Annoyances Nobody Talks About! What's your gripe?
So I feel all of your pain about the regain. Mine is part medication and chemo induced menopause but part is probably some of my food choices. I blame on the long term steroids but who knows how much of that really is and part my brain just having an excuse. I asked my dr today if I will get off the steroids before I’m done with treatment and he says no. I have another SIX MONTHS and I’ve already gained almost 20 pounds in three!! I can’t avoid the scale since I still have so many dr appts and when I got on the scale today, I almost cried. I asked if I have to wait until I’m huge again to get to do Wegovy and he says no. No clue if my insurance will cover it at my weight, but he did give me a sample so I can see if it even helps for now. I don’t want to not be able to eat at all. I am just hoping to be able to make better choices and get back on track. I am trying to figure out when to start it though. I have an event tomorrow that I don’t want to feel sick for so maybe Sunday. I guess I will skip it Thanksgiving week and then again the second week of December I will be on a cruise and again for Christmas week. Well for the cruise so I can eat for sure but if I can eat some I don’t really care about Christmas. I do want to be able to eat more than two bites on Thanksgiving though. I’m kind of wondering if I should just wait till January at this point. 🤷♀️ I hope it’s doesn’t make it worse to start and then stop it.

Also just a note about any electorolyte drink. Too much can deplete magnesium which causes bad cramps and I assume other things but I had an issue post bariatric surgery and was worried about blood clots because of the cramps in my calves and it was low magnesium from too many electrolyte drinks. Just a heads up.

Mine is medication related I think. I’ve been this way since I started a couple meds in my 20’s that I drink a gallon a day so I guess my body is used to it. One good thing about it is I’ve always had nice skin and been told I look young for my age which I attribute to hydration and staying out of the sun because I can’t handle the heat. It is an awful feeling to feel like your dying if thirst though. Fasting for surgery was the worst because I woke up sooooo thirsty and they didn’t want me to “overdo it” but I was so parched before I went to sleep so post surgery I was miserable. I asked my mom before I went to sleep to go and get me water, sprite and saltines so when I woke up I could drink at least and maybe even eat. I did not even want to wait the 10 minutes to get to the hotel. That’s how thirsty I was!! But yea the liquid IV helps a great deal to get a jump on the hydration for the day.

Vasovagal Syncope (Fainting) post gastric sleeve
I would definitely get this checked out. It may be related but it’s also Possible it has nothing at all to do with your surgery. Either way, it’s not worth ignoring. Your body is trying to tell you something is wrong. Hopefully it’s something simple but your doctor may want to do some tests to get to the bottom of it. First thing I would do is call and make an appt. In the mean time, pay attention to your hydration, nutrition and your blood pressure. Those things are the things that come to my mind but of course I’m not a doctor. When you stand up from lying down especially take your time. Grab hold of something if you can and don’t start walking right away. Just get your bearings. If that helps it doesn’t mean you’re cured but it could keep you from breaking something while you wait for your appointment. Best of luck.

Have you tried liquid IV. They sell it everywhere (cheapest on Walmart but walgreens and Amazon have it too. They make sugar free one but I get the real one figuring it’s worth the few calories to be well hydrated and I don’t know that the sugar free one really works and I keep forgetting to ask him about that. I’m pretty sure that the fluids they give at the hospital aren’t sugar free). Anyhow, the kidney doc told me about this. It’s a packet you mix in your water and it triples your hydration. Similar to Gatorade or Powerade, but easier to carry and he says it works better than the other two. Comes in quite a few flavors. There are a few important tricks though. First check with your Dr, if you have high BP especially, because it’s basically sugar and salt. Second, you have to mix it ahead. It’s salty and quite gritty if you just stir and try to drink right away. I mix it and leave it sit a good 15 or 20 minutes at least and then mix again. If it’s isn’t smooth it’s needs to dissolve longer. Last, it says mix with 16 oz water, but i find it strong tasting so I mix it with twice as much water which helps a great deal. Now of course that doesn’t mean you are getting credit for 3 times the 32oz, but you are getting 3 times the first 16oz, plus an extra 16 of water and it tastes better that way I think. Watermelon is pretty mild. I have a big yeti jug that is 32oz and that’s what I mix mine in and it stays cold forever with ice which is important because it takes a while to drink it. I have one a day no matter what and if I find that around dinner I haven’t had much to drink or just feel extra thirsty, I will mix a second one to drink throughout the night. My body is used to a gallon a day which is twice the 64oz that most people strive for and my body shows signs of dehydration if I only get 64 oz so I really have to pay attention to getting in my hydration. I hope this helps.

I know, right? It’s not fair!!!! I am horrible at self comtrol after I have a taste of the less healthy options. I know some people can eat one small slice of pizza or a bite of a brownie and be satisfied but I will not be full on the pizza or happy with the brownie and on top of that, having them processed carbs will make me crave carbs for a week. It’s really not worth it but I still do it to myself. Not sure why. 😆

Oh good. Fingers crossed they can see what we all know that you are doing awesome!!! That’s great news!! Bitter sweet to have them decide when you are ready to leave the nest, but they are the professionals so they know better than we do. Make sure you stay on top of that iron Thing. If you start noticing your feeling cold A lot and/or extra tired be sure to get it checked straight away. Mine has been an issue through all my other stuff and the couple of times I needed infusions I was like I NEVER need a sweater inside. I didn’t even carry one in the car because I’m always hot so I knew something had to be wrong. A couple infusions and I was right back on track. That and potassium seem to be my issues with absorption. I am just dreading this holiday season. I am already starting to think of food I want to get for certain occasions. One of my friends who is super tiny NEVER thinks about food. She will eat a small bowl of real cereal (not the pure sugar kind) and it’s like an after thought for dinner. She laughs at me all the time when I start planning meals so far in advance and talk about food so much because she just doesn’t even think about it. I think these people need to donate their brains to science because there is something so different between her and my brain I’m sure if it. Maybe their brains will help them figure out less extreme weight loss tools for the future. Anyhow. I am thrilled for your good visit. I hope you celebrated!! You have earned it.

My Bariatric Gripes: The Daily Annoyances Nobody Talks About! What's your gripe?
I kind of like that. Not quite such small portions it sounds like, but much smaller and I think will be stuffed and then an hour later I’m hungry again. I keep protein bars and protein snacks everywhere. I always have many options in my different bags and purses. My mom jokes that if she ever gets stranded on a desert island she hopes it is with me because she is sure I will have a weeks worth of snacks for both of us with me. I never know what I will be in the mood for is why I take so many options. When we went to a hotel for just a couple of nights I had to switch to the medium suitcase when I went to add in my snacks. My friend said I’m surprised the snacks didn’t get their own case the way you are. I have a big clear bag that is full with a variety that I take when I travel to appts out of town so I don’t get stuck doing fast food. I probably should get a bag that isn’t clear since People look at me like I’m nuts but it’s easy to take inventory and make sure I replenish it with what I may want. Also, I think maybe it’s secretly kind of fun to let people think I’m nuts without assuming I plan to eat it all in the next hour based on my size. 😂 😂 😂

My Bariatric Gripes: The Daily Annoyances Nobody Talks About! What's your gripe?
Does anyone else have an abundance of stool and pain when it sort of hits you all at once. Since I started chemo exactly four months post op and I was barely getting back to eating normal and I THOUGHT this had something to do with chemo but Im done with that now and it’s still an issue. It could be the immunotherapy but since that’s every three weeks I would expect it to get better for at least the last few days before my next treatment and it does not. I have to wake up like 2 hours before I go anywhere just to start my bathroom routine 🤦♀️ I go like three times every morning and each time is more than I ever went before the surgery. I know it has to be because it’s passing through quicker and has more water or something but seriously 2 hours and sometimes I still have to go after I leave the house. And it’s not like I can wait or get any warning when I have to go I gotta go right then. It hits and I’m like doubled over in pain and I couldn’t hold it for long at all. Then I go and feel fine but 30 minutes later it’s the same thing, all of a sudden, pain and lots of stool. I had the SADI so maybe this is exclusive to that. Not sure, but it is not fun to be so gross, for starters but it’s time consuming and painful as well.

I agree. Not moving doesn’t directly affect weight but for me I think the happy chemicals that exercise produced helped with my choices. Not sure if that’s typical for others but I was much happier when I was exercising. I slept sooooo much better at the end of the day, for one thing. Why do we focuse on that stupid number when we all know it isn’t even an accurate reflection of loss. I do it to and it’s so silly. I wish there was a way to keep the weight thing in check without even owning a scale. I truly do.

Physical activity makes a big difference also. For me it’s hydration and activity. I drink a lot of water as a rule but if I am sick or injured I drink and exercise less. I usually take a stool softener as preventative because if I don’t I will need a laxative when usually I have the other issue.

Oh how I wish it was magic, too!! That’s awesome about your activity. I bet you are so much stronger and that will be so good as you get older to help with balance and all of that so you don’t fall and break things when you inevitably lose bone density! Plus muscle burns more fat so there is that which is a huge plus. I bet you are getting nice and toned also which makes clothes fit better. I can’t wait to get back to it. My appt with the new ortho is Friday and a lady in my crochet group had two knee replacements done by him and said he is definitely not one to tell you to sit still like the other guy basically said for me to do. I don’t think I need that so it’s overkill to see this guy but I’m going to tell him I need another opinion that allows me to get back to my activity before things snowball out of control. I guess as much as I’m missing it I may be a little bored with it too if I had been doing it this entire past year. Why do we have to always want what we can’t have 🤦♀️ Ooh and if your not losing so much but your lifting that much it may just be your gaining muscle faster than you are losing. It is true that muscle is more than fat. Do you take measurements. That may be a better way for you to see your progress now. That and the way your clothes fit. I’m so happy for you. I remember in the beginning for both of us how much of a struggle it was to get started with being active. You’re doing so great keeping it up. I really liked also how it was time taken out just for me. I would listen to music or audiobooks or talk to a friend on the phone while I walked and then of course yoga and cardio were entertainment of their own. The yoga is my absolute favorite. I tried PIYO also but needed to get a little more bendy before I went in and out of them poses so rapidly. I can’t wait to try that again!!

Are you still exercising quite a bit? If so, talk to the coach about your activity. If you have a fitness watch take the information from that about your average heart rate from your average workout and let her know. If you are craving sugar it’s possibly just the obese brain wanting junk but it’s also possible that you are actually craving what you need. I know when I was exercising like crazy the nurse practitioner told me to add more carbs and when I did i started losing which surprised the heck out of me. Have you tried searching online for some new recipes to try. That is something I was told to do ever so often to keep things from getting boring.

My Bariatric Gripes: The Daily Annoyances Nobody Talks About! What's your gripe?
You know how so many women who have straight hair get perms and yet those with beautiful curly hair flat iron it daily. Or how so many taller women wish to be shorter, but short women often say they’d like to be tall. And those with smaller breast usually want bigger, but many bigger breasted women would love to be smaller. I think it’s human to want what we don’t have. Sometimes we get it and don’t like the grass on that side of the fence either. In reality I think we just want a happy medium. I mean It would be great to not have cravings so intense that I am thinking about food all the time yet be able to go to a nice restaurant and really enjoy a small portion of a couple of things when i want. Unfortunately I think it’s usually more one way or the other and few of us are lucky enough to have the best of both worlds. That’s why we have sayings like be careful what you wish for and we make pro and cons lists when making decisions. I mean too much water can kill you! Any one extreme or the other is usually not very good. 🤷♀️ My gripe is that after talking so Much about what I should and should not be eating and that I’m gaining my well intentioned husband is playing food police now. I’m not sure if his reminders are helpful or not, but I know I don’t like to hear it!! Makes it a total waste of calories when I can’t even enjoy it without guilt. I just don’t want my food choices to be open to criticism but I guess I made it that way by involving him to begin with 🤷♀️

How is everyone doing on their journey. Any cool plans for the holidays. I’m trying to talk my hubby into doing something since the holidays are slow for his work and he can take a little vacation time without the world ending at his work. In his mind at least. 😂

Thank you so much for that. I really think I just needed to get my feelings out in a safe space with people who don’t judge me as if I don’t care or realize that I have cancer and I’m lucky to be alive. I totally get that and I’m grateful to be where I am. It’s not vanity like these doctors seem to think. I just really want to keep my eye on the ball with my weight as well so that I’m not at square one when I am done treating. I know that weight isn’t everything, but we all know that It is quite important. I know the biggest piece of advice I gave to others was to not get discouraged with being a few pounds shy of Goal or Gaining a bit back and not to do what I did after my sleeve which was basically to just give up and start eating everything I wanted again over a few pounds. Because after gaining it all back I would have done anything to be back to the weight I was so disappointed with before. I need to somehow take my own advice. This time I was down to 158 and secretly hoped to get under 150. Now I’m back Up to 175 which on my mind is 25 more than I Wanted. Even still, that’s not a terrible and it’s not 260 and gaining fast like where I was when I started! I Just need to remember that It’s not all or nothing (black or white) like I tend to think and end up sabotaging myself again.

Am I overreacting, or was this nurse out of line?
Well, I am not five years out from my revision, but I think I have a pretty good understanding of what works and what did not for me and that we are all different. This time, I have a nutritionist who actually looks at my logs from the Baritastic app as well as my fitness stuff on my Apple Watch and she told me to add in more carbs because of my exercise! The fact that your nurse didn’t even bother to ask you about your nutrition, activity or medication changes, etc means she has no clue what she’s talking about and I would’ve checked out right there. Honestly, the fact that she is working for a weight loss clinic with that level of ignorance and attitude is just baffling. Whether you decide to report her or not is entirely up to you, but at the very least, I would ask for any follow ups to be with a different practitioner at that office or just go to another one. What you were doing is clearly working for you. I mean you don’t fit into her little mold but that’s because there is no one size fits all mold. You are doing great and certainly don’t need her reckless advice to break what isn’t broken. 😡

Okay I think I need to hear all the things from my fellow weight loss friends. This is really long and rambling but, I seriously need something to reel me back in because I’m spiraling. My treatment is working but it’s pretty much kicking my a**, first my thyroid and then my joints were all hurting like I aged 30 years over night. I tried the steroid dose pack and it worked magically while I was on it, but started hurting again when I stopped. But that got back burned when I went into acute kidney failure from my treatment and now I’m on steroids for that so my joints are good again for now at least The good news is the kidney thing was acute and is now okay (being monitored very closely though because I will have to stop treatment for good if it happens again but so far so good). To let my kidneys heal from the inflammation, I had to hold treatment for 7 weeks and go on high dose steroids plus a zillion other meds which are making my thyroid med not work as well and my endo is being a jerk and refusing to adjust the meds even though I’m hypothyroid now (another fun side effect of this treatment is thyroid issues) because he “expects fluctuations and I should only be checking it every few months in case it corrects itself.” Well, it’s off now and so are my symptoms so what difference does it make if we know the cause is different meds that aren’t changing anytime soon. Also, they have me on steroids so I’m eating everything in sight and I’m getting lazy again (that’s what happened when the hypothyroid thing started). Now I have gained 10 pounds in a short time despite DESPERATELY trying to eat well. I also messed up something in my knee. I have no clue how or when, but it kept swelling up Real bad with activity and I could barely walk by the end of the day. I went to the ortho doc thinking they were going to give me a pill or shot for arthritis or something and instead I left on crutches. They thought it was fractured based on X-ray, but then the CT showed no fracture so at least I’m off the crutches now (technically I’m “weight bearing as tolerated” but I can’t stand them things so I have them in the car but I haven’t used them). Now he thinks it’s a torn Miniscus but the only way to confirm that is with an MRI which I can’t do because of the metal that’s in the tissue expanders in my breast or a CT with contrast which I shouldn’t do right now because of the risk to my kidneys. Basically the Dr says just take it easy until after my reconstruction surgery and we will do an MRI if it’s still hurting to see what to do from there. I’m allowed to do Yoga only and “no hot yoga.” He acts like months of no exercise is no big deal. He has no clue how hard it is for me to start a habit like exercise and what not doing anything for months will do to me I just feel like the entire world is against me right now in terms of my weight loss journey. I was trying to be okay with my 100 pound loss because I know that’s huge, and less exercise because I was still doing some but, the hits just keep coming. I had wanted to lose even more and I stopped losing to appease the oncology doctors while I was on chemo and now that I’m just on immunotherapy and they say I can lose slowly again I can’t totally kick the carbs I added to stop the loss, I can’t really exercise at all and my metabolism and hormones are working against me big time. Plus I’m really afraid to know what pain I will have in my joints when they stop these steroids but that’s another story I’m in my early 40’s and the treatment also zapped my ovaries so I am now POST Menopause and this really is a just a lot of changes within one year for me and had been very hard to swallow it all so quickly. I think my emotions are maybe a bit all over the place from the menopause and my body is also adjusting. I just feel like I’m fighting for a life that Isn’t going to be worth living if I got back to being obese and feeling all depressed and invisible again. I only got to actually enjoy the loss for a few months before this roller coaster started. I am thrilled to be alive and I’m still fighting, don’t get me wrong, but I’m in my head and having a really sh*tty day. I’m just feeling discouraged. I’m SO scared that my body is going to be in such bad shape after all of this that I’m not going to be able to sustain any kind of exercise or have the energy to keep up with the nutrition. I brought up GLP-1 to my oncologist and he says absolutely I can do them at some point if I need them but I don’t need them now and that 10 pounds is not a big deal. But it is a very big deal to me. I feel everything slipping away. Plus, it’s not just 10 pounds up from my ideal weight, I have a tiny frame, I wanted to still lose more weight. Not only am I not losing, or even maintaining, It’s 10 pounds in the wrong direction!! Part of me knows that this entire pity party/ freak out is premature, but I swear I am just so terrified to go back there again. This WAS my do over. I would be hard pressed to find a doctor that would do a revision to a SADI and I doubt I could lose as much with a THiRD surgery if they could even do it with all the scar tissue from two surgeries. They probably would be scared with all my body has been through recently anyways. Not to mention that I have another year almost of immunotherapy so surgery now would be crazy and insurance wouldn’t pay unless I wait until i roller coaster back up to certain weight again which is so hard on your liver the up and down which I’ve already done twice just before chemo so not ideal!! I just need someone to talk me down that this is not going where I feel it’s going. Or maybe I just needed to get that out. I tried to explain to two doctors who have no clue, a friend and my husband. Not one of them gets just how monumental this is in my mind. In my life. I was finally starting to get it back and along comes Cancer to make it all seem impossible. Its already taken a year of my life and some of my relationships which have changed probably forever. I just can’t let it screw this up too!!

What items are y'all buying for post-op?
I was told after my sleeve NEVER to use a straw but four years later the same surgeon said that it was fine when I got my revision to SADI. This is one of the things that surgeons can’t agree on, though. Best bet is to ask yours and go with what they say but I’ve never had any issue with a water bottle straw or otherwise. I accidentally got one years ago and it didn’t do anything so I started using them again. My sleeve wasn’t stretched and I didn’t have extra gas or anything. I think it depends on the person how much air they take in with a straw, honestly but I’m not a dr of course

What items are y'all buying for post-op?
I thought the binder was very helpful. I woke up from surgery with one on and if you get one hopefully you can ask them to put it on you while at hospital so you can see if it helps you too. They are pretty hard to put on someone else for just one person who doesn’t do it often and I wasn’t able to do it myself for several days after surgery for obvious reasons. Hubby was a lost cause with it 🤦♀️ it’s really just a comfort thing, I was told by the nurse some like it some don’t. Maybe if you have someone who can be putting it on you it would be worth practicing BEFORE your surgery! I had my husband practice putting my bra on me before hand because I knew that if I needed help dressing that would’ve been the most challenging for him If you are comfortable doing Amazon though and have someone to bring the stuff in and open boxes for you, I wouldn’t actually order stuff until post op when you see what you really need. Your needs may evolve. Walmart deliver isn’t a bad idea either. They have many shake options and a free trial period as well. Just be warned that their shipping estimates are often underestimated so unless it’s coming from another Walmart store don’t trust the delivery date Anyhoo, I get it that you’re just excited and you want to do something. Anything to take you another step toward your surgery. I know because I was the exact same way, but so much of that stuff really turned out to be sort of a waste for me because I only needed it for such a short time and I really could make do without a lot of of it. I did order a small food processor, a decent one, but only because I knew that I would use it afterwards to make salsa and guacamole anyways and that was handy for the purée stage. I personally didn’t like anything that had meat in the purée, but some people puree everything and I found it was good for puree egg salad which tasted OK puréed and refried beans as well. I puréed them a little more because you know they can has chunks and in the early stages that’s not ideal. Also, when I was allowed purée, I did onions in the processor to basically make them almost liquid 😂 and I put my spices in there to break them down even smaller, that added quite a bit of flavor to things. For the smaller baby spoons and baby plates and things if you really feel like you need them to go slow or take small bites and they actually help and have the extra money then of course go for it. But just know that you’re probably not going to be eating with a baby spoon or tiny plates and bowls forever and it may be better just to learn to take smaller bites with a regular spoon unless you plan to take them to a restaurant with you. I mean you have to do this for the rest of your life. I did find them really small containers at dollar tree to be handy for the two ounce days and I still use them for sauces or a portion of nuts and nut butter to go so they were not a waste. They come with like 6 or 8 in a package. I got the rectangle ones but they have round I think also. Ooh and a cooler that you will carry with you always if you don’t have one already. I bring water, shakes and snacks with me everywhere. Even if I don’t plan to be gone long I take enough water, snacks and vitamins to be sure I don’t end up at a drive through or going without my vitamins because of a day that goes on longer than expected. If I don’t use things, they go right back in the fridge for another day. Another tip is to carry a flat rectangular Tupperware that seals well or the ziplock ones with the screw on lids that fits in your cooler because when you go out to eat you will always have leftovers and them to-go styrofoam things won’t fit in a cooler. I always have my Tupperware and I just carry it in with me so long as it’s a casual place to take my leftovers with me. I usually have a big purse and just stick it down in there when it’s empty then ask for a bag to carry it out. My theory having done this twice now is save your money For clothes shopping and exercise equipment, maybe some good sneakers and a nice set of bone phones to wear on walks or just for the more nutritious foods that may cost a bit more until you learn what you like and how to not waste as much of the fresh Whole Foods you will soon be eating loads more of. (I wasted so much food in the beginning.) But do get your vitamins that your surgeon reccomends for you and get set up on auto ship it usually saves you a percentage and you won’t forget and run out. Your time now may be better spent clearing out your wardrobe and closet of out of season clothes that won’t fit you next season to make room for smaller sizes and checking out a few thrift stores for some of the staples in a few sizes below what you are now if you are wanting to shop. You will blow through the sizes so quick that I found it silly to pay full price for things like exercise and comfy clothes, robes, pajamas, etc. Save your money for when you get down close to your happy weight when the loss slows way down and you can actually get some wear out if things. If your nervous about getting rid of things you can store them in another room, perhaps until you are confident you are not going to need them. Even protein shakes I wouldn’t buy too many. A lot of times whatever you like now you won’t post surgery. either just your taste change and you don’t like them after or they are too sweet, the texture bothers you after or some of us develop sensitivity to different types of protein and milk or artificial sweeteners and which can cause diarrhea, even if they didn’t before. Honestly, so long as you have Amazon and you can get it in two days it’s better to not stock up on too much because you may end up with a case of protein shakes that you can’t stand. But definitely do your research and add things to your save for later cart so you can easily get them in a couple of days max. Ooh and another tip, keep a laundry basket, plastic tote or even cardboard box or bag in your closet for stuff as it becomes too big and do a weekly donation run to make room for more new clothes. The clothes shopping is Soooooooo much fun when you can finally be selective and wear what actually fits your style pop instead of having to choose from 3 things that will fit, but if you don’t take some things out you will be overwhelmed with clothes everywhere like I am now because I have been busy with other medical stuff since 3 months post op I just keep ordering but not purging and my room looks like a bomb went off. Another thing that has really come in handy for me was to find a bunch of recipes to try. I made a page in notepad in my phone and I send the links to it and write a description. I have a “recipes to try” page and a “favorite recipe” page for things I tried and really liked. Also, learning how to freeze certain things is a great idea. If you don’t love to cook this will be a savior. Cook a few nights a week and make a double batch of things, freezing individual portions and labeling them of course then your freezer will soon be stocked with quick healthy options for nights you don’t feel like cooking or get home late, etc. Them silicone cubes are good for that. I bought the “souper cubes” after my Sleeve surgery and never even used them, but they have several generic options now and post revision I tried and love them. They are cool because it freezes foods in bricks and then you put them down in a labeled freezer bag and they take up less space being nice and boxy shaped. This is way more than what you asked for, but you had me thinking back to all the stuff I bought the first time and didn’t use and what I really did benefit from personally. Of course we are all different so you may be a gadget type in which case you may use a lot of the things I didn’t. Ooh I do really use my YETI water jug. It’s 32oz and I have two that I fill at the beginning of the day. I bring them both with me if I’m out for the day and leave one In the car. Believe it or not the ice is still in there at the end of the day!! They are heavy though so not really good for immediately post surgery. I love the way they have a handle on top and they don’t spill. This one is si ch a pretty color pink if you like pink. https://a.co/d/fomMUJt I carry one of these with me always. They do also make cheaper brands in the metal cups now, but it gets super hot here and YETI and Stanley are said to be best (I like the Yeti color options better. Plus, Even now, on crutches it’s easy to carry with that handle 😂 Ooh and these come in handy once your back to normal foods for on the go https://a.co/d/a6rVpeS They are on Amazon called Easy Lunchboxes sort of like bento boxes, they have lots more brands now but they have 4 compartments that are 1/2 cup made like a lunchables container. They also make them with 6 compartments, a big one for salad or a fifth spot for dressing, etc. They are great to prep with low fat cheeses, nuts, fruits, veggies, protein bar halves, turkey jerky, etc for quick at home snacks or on the go. Okay this is long, rambling and not in any organized manner, sorry about that, but I hope some of it helps. Happy surgery planning ❤️

Report Your WINS ..What is your today's win???
Well, this isn’t entirely a happy thing but it could be much worse if I was 100 pounds heavier. I went to ortho doc expecting them to put me on meds or shots for arthritis that presented after my treatment but instead I left there on crutches because I fractured something in my knee 😩. Since I’m still gaining back the strength in my arms from after a mastectomy, the crutches are not fun at all BUT, at least I am quite a bit lighter because I imagine I would be in a wheelchair if I was trying to hobble around at the size I was before. Still waiting for results of CT to see just how bad. Cross your fingers for me that it’s not too serious.

How do I update my weight on profile
If you already have your starting weight on your profile then you can do it on a computer in the profile somehow but the easiest way is just scroll down and look below the “trending products” and “new tooics” look for the black “together we have lost” and below that there are two boxes. One with your starting weigh and then you add your current weight. It will update automatically.
