3rd week Marchers we’re up next!! March 17th for me and I’m so nervous , anxious and excited to start the next phase! Just want to wish everyone who goes this week coming an successful procedure and speedy recovery! WE GOT THIS! On to a better version of ourselves.

There was some small bumps on the surface they wanted to test! One doc seemed very nonchalant about it and one was very serious about it so I’m trying not to panic while healing! I should know next week what’s going on. I will say for several years prior to now I did drink pretty heavily while taking depression/anxiety medicine so I was already concerned about the state of my liver. Luckily though it can only go up from here and we will just treat it and continue to not drink and lose weight! Trying to stay positive!

Hi Everyone! I’ve been sleeved today! Feeling pretty good - not much pain but during surgery they did give a pain med that is supposed to last three days so who really knows how I’m actually feeling lol
I’ve been drinking with no issues except if I sip too fast, I get a cramp in my stomach so I won’t be doing that again.
So far so good and I get to go home tomorrow G-d willing

Give it God!! I don't know your beliefs but I will be praying for your comfort in this time and that he gives a settle mind. You got this!!!! Your doing this for YOU and YOUR HEALTH you don't have room for negative thoughts, negative thoughts didn't get you this far YOU GOT THIS!!!!!! YOU CAN DO IT. BLESSINGS

I was scared of having a heart attack while playing with my grandchildren. Surgery is a breeze, and recovery is temporary. You got this.

Postponing it won’t change anything, will just give you more time to be worried. Part of the problem with these forums is it gives an unrealistic picture of potential problems. Very few people post “hey this has been easy and I have zero complications… what do I do?” It’s a little like reading product reviews… people are far more likely to leave a review if they have a bad experience vs an expected normal experience.

But here’s a positive “review” of my surgery experience that is true….

I had vsg and had zero problems. I drove to Mexico with a pocket full of cash during a pandemic and had a surgical procedure performed and had to use Google translate to communicate. I had zero complications, the results have been amazing. it was so easy that I sometimes feel like I took the easy way out but I don’t give a damn because I’m healthier and happier about myself than I have been since I was in elementary school in the 80s. I haven’t thrown up, I haven’t had any issues with food not agreeing with me. I haven’t exercised or walked any more than a typical adult and the weight just fell off with no effort. I’m now considered healthy, my doctor is happy my family is happy and I’m happy. I wish I did it sooner and I’m glad I didn’t postpone it.

I had some of the same worries many of us do. “This is going to be forever. Do I really need to do this to my body. Once it’s done there’s no going back. What if x y or z happens.” Those are typical thoughts. What is not typical? Having serious complications. It’s exceedingly rare. It is a common procedure and I’d bet your surgeon has done it 1000s of times, I bet his assistants have helped 1000s of times, and I bet everyone who is there to support you in the hospital has seen and dealt with 1000s of people who were worse off and pulled through because of their care and dedication. And I’d also bet that when it’s all finished, a year from today you’ll think “I wish I did this sooner.”

It’s normal to be scared, YOU haven’t done this 1000 times, but the people around you that you need to get through this have. We have too (collectively), and post op we will be here to help with any bumps and bruises and worries and anything else you may have questions about. Not having problems is certainly not a guarantee anyone can give you. Having complications from being too big is also not a guarantee. But the odds speak for themselves… you’re far more likely to have serious complications from being too big vs having gastric surgery. It’s your call to choose which set of potential problems you wish to live with though. Either way we’re here to help you as you decide.

Just had mines done March 8 still recovering

OMG I can’t believe the time has finally come. I am down to my last day of liquid diet and I have to be at hospital at 5:30am tomorrow. To say I am nervous and elated would be understatements. Any last tips or advice?

So excited for all of us, got the call today from my surgeon's office that my insurance approved, and my surgery date is 3/24/2021. I go on the liquid diet on the 10th!

Oh I completely understand about the 90 that’s a lot to spend if you don’t need to. Hopefully you have the answer soon. Stay on the doctor and insurance that’s all I can say. Praying for you! You got this surgery will be March 22!!!

So far gastric sleeve is the best decision I’ve ever made. I was 340 on 1/28 as of today I’m sitting at 293. The weight loss in the first month or so especially is DRASTIC. First month is also the hardest there’s a lot of adapting to do accompanied by some frustration. It does get better I promise. broth, Jello, and even Water may irritate you for the first week or so (at least they did with me) but in time you’ll be fine don’t stress

March 17th for me. I’ve already been weaning off of caffeine as I won’t be able to get it at the hospital post-op. I get a headache early afternoon so I’ve worked on reducing my intake. My pre-op diet starts 3/9. Have to take in only 1000 cals/day to reduce the size of my liver during the pre-op stage. Good luck everyone! It’s a gift to ourselves to live a longer and healthier life.

I’m on day 3 of pre op diet and I’m starving as well. Lol I’m just excited and ready for the next phase of this journey

My surgery is scheduled for March 22. I’m very excited and nervous

I’m getting my surgery March 10th. Excited and scared at the same time.

I just got scheduled for my surgery March 25, 2021! I am so excited and so scared all at the same time! It is crazy how I feel. I keep looking at posts for inspiration and motivation to keep going. Reminding myself, wow that could be me in a few months! Anyone else feeling like this and scheduled for Gastric Bypass this month?

I am not sure if I am expecting to get on the scales and see a 5# weight loss one morning from the day before or what but I can't stay off the scales. I have got to go to once a week!
