One more. This dress used to be too tight after I gained so much weight back and I stopped wearing it. Also my arms used to look like hulk arms.

Tried it on to go walking around a small but lovely city (socially distanced and with masks of course, just took it off for the photo) and it fit like a dream. Size 16. Also my arms aren’t looking like hulk arms anymore. This is the first pic in a long time that Im actually okay with.

I lost 6lbs this week, so I’m 59lbs down. Almost to 60 gone forever.

Okay, now going to sleep. Love this thread and seeing everyone’s outfits. Such inspiration and well dressed people.

That pink colour is so lovely on you @kristieshannon & @Dtrain84 looking smoooooth. Congrats @ANewJourneyAwaits on your weight loss. And such a bright & cheerful colour to Celebrate. I love red.
A face to face would be fabulous but I’m not intending to board a plane for some time yet even with the vaccine - flying incubators - shudder - especially with the number of hours I’d be trapped on board. Maybe one day we’ll be able enjoy travelling safely again & we won’t have to quarantine whereever we go. Damn virus. It’s sucked the joy out of so much. Waaah!
  4. Thanks

I've been a gym rat since the gyms opened back up last September. I added muscle mass and had to go up in shirt size. I still love putting clothing combinations together all the way down to the shoes.

Sigh. I know, right. Planes are not in my near future either. Though I am ok to get on one AFTER we get the vaccine AND a couple months have passed once getting it, AND if the vaccine is proven to be effective against any of the new (or future) variants. So yeah, a while still. Sigh.
I am, however, already planning out all the vacations I want to go on immediately after all the above conditions are met.

In reference to @ANewJourneyAwaits's post above, it says it has sugar, however you all should be advised that it's not added sugar. It's just from the dairy Protein in it. You honestly get more sugar from drinking straight skim milk.

Yep! Just received my 42g ultra Protein yesterday! My friend who had gastric sleeve let me know about them after surgery. I never did like Premier Protein except for with coffee. It has a weird after taste to me.

    Edited:
I don’t know which you are drinking but my ultras have only 7g of sugar.  And the 26g of Protein only have 5.

Yours is almost identical to mine. My Dr said I was in perfect health except for my weight. And I could see my blood pressure slowly rising.

Also I want my mom to see me at my peak, I’ve been overweight my whole adult life and I wanted her to see me healthy as she is always concerned about my health (never mean! Ever! Just heart health and things like that).

Also I’m tired of paying so much extra for plus size clothes and my knees aching!

Plus, of course, if you are obese your risk for complications of COVID are higher too.

There is also another with 42g of protein and 8g of sugar which isnt bad

To prevent future disease and illness. I was obese and generally healthy but knew I was on the path (like many of my family members) to diabetes and high blood pressure. Watching my mom suffer with her health now is a big motivator for me to do something to prevent being in the place she is in another 15-20 years. Realizing that my weight put me at high risk for Covid was another wake-up call for me.
I was also tired of feeling physically uncomfortable in my body (achy back, feet, hips, etc) and having no energy. I missed doing the things I used to do like hiking, rollerblading, and bike riding. I'd stopped doing them when I got heavy enough that it was painful and physically uncomfortable to be active. I'm only two weeks and a couple days out from surgery and already I can walk without discomfort around my neighborhood. My energy may still be low, but my back and feet don't hurt! It feels amazing!!! I'm remembering how much I used to enjoy being physically active.

You could try the egg bites from Starbucks. Kind of Breakfasty, but might work. I will occasionally get a bean burrito from Del Taco and eat the “guts” out of it with a couple bites of tortilla. My go to meal on the go is a Protein Bar. I like Built brand.

ANewJourneyAwaits reacted to Arabesque in Hair loss :-(
This is very common. It’s a reaction to the shock of the surgery, anaesthetic & reduced caloric intake. My surgeon said my body had more to do with the nutrients I was consuming than grow hair.
Your natural cycle of shedding hair has been accelerated as a result of all this. How long it will last & how much you will lose is individual. There’s nothing you can do except relax - you don’t need the additional stress. supplements, shampoos, etc that promise to stop the Hair loss or improve/strengthen your hair won’t stop this process. The hair you’re shedding is already dead. Those products only may help strengthen new Hair growth.
While you’re losing hair, you are actually growing new hair. It’s just growing at it’s normal rate while you’re losing more quickly. You won’t notice the new growth until it’s a couple of inches long. Remember you don’t usually notice your new hair growth & you’ll only notice it now because your hair is thinner.
It will stop. Your hair will grow back. I found my loss reduced back to more normal amounts once I was close to maintenance & eating more.
Congrats on your weight loss so far.

they never gave us a calorie range - we were supposed to focus on Protein and fluids only the first few weeks. Although I know after the first month or so, a lot of people seem to be in the 600-800 range for awhile - and then gradually up from there.

ANewJourneyAwaits got a reaction from MariaC6 in How much weight did you lose the first 90 days ?
I’m a slow loser too. Probably the slowest. I had VSG on the 24th of December. Pre-surgery I lost 23lbs. At two months yesterday, I am down 26lbs after surgery or 50lbs total at the two month mark (it may be more than that as I weigh every Sunday). I’m pretty consistent at 2-3lbs per week. Luckily, I’ve still had no Hair loss. I average about 700 calories but sometimes a little more or little less. I get frustrated with my slower losses but then the inches lost and muscle definition make me feel better. Incidentally, my surgeon doesn’t worry about weight loss until month 3 and said my weight loss should pick up the most Between month 4-8. So, who knows?
