  1. That is awful!! I'm so sorry she said something so rude and unsupportive!!
  2. Yep! I'll ride the not hungry train for as long as I can. I've discovered that I can do two sips okay, but the third makes everything feel tight. I have my Apple watch set to go off every 3 minutes and I take 1 sip. That's easy for me to do and doesn't make me uncomfortable. I'm trying to push it to two sips, but one is super easy.
  3. I haven't felt hungry or full since my surgery on March 3rd. I've been using my 4oz cups to keep portions sizes in line, and I'm starting to weigh food. It's weird because I haven't FELT full, but I just get a sense of - Okay, I'm done. I'm not trying to push my boundaries yet either so it's nice that I"m not hungry.
  4. Good news! Plus... you'll see the nursing side from the patient POV and I bet that will only make you a better nurse! Good luck!
  5. Do you mean for trying to figure out how much weight you "should" be able to lose after surgery? I would think you'd use your surgery weight for that. Anything beforehand wouldn't be because of the tool so I wouldn't think it'd count towards your "expected" weight loss from surgery.
  6. HI All!! 23 days post op and doing really well! Moved into soft foods and have had fish, cottage cheese, and some steamed veggies. Still not feeling hungry which is a good thing, but I've realized that it doesn't really give me a chance to feel full. I haven't really tried pushing it to the limit as I don't want to get sick or hurt myself so I'm just sticking to 4oz portions, eating slowly, and chewing! How's everyone else doing today?
  7. Okay... you are where I want to be when I grow up! I'm 23 days post op so I've got a few weeks before I move into "regular" foods on my plan, but I've been thinking about what my eating life looks like afterwards. I want it to be my lifestyle and not a constant diet. So any tips?? Everything in moderation?
  8. I just started soft foods, and I'm so excited!! I had salmon last night and it was the best ever! Pinterest has some great idea for recipes if you need inspiration.
  9. Good luck to all our Marchers having surgery this week! You can do this!
  10. I'm so sorry to hear about your complications! That is crazy, I had some trouble to so I understand how scary it was.
  11. I’m doing MUCH better! I had a weird reaction to the Lovenox shot so I ended up staying for like 4 days. Then one of my incisions started draining white stuff. They ended up reopening it so it’s almost healed. I’m doing really well now though. How are you doing?
  12. Hi all!! Checking in! I had bypass on March 3rd and then a freak reaction to the Levonox shot had me back in surgery on the 4th. It was pretty scary there for a bit so I didn’t get to home until the 7th. I’m onto puréed foods now and everything seems to be back on track ! Glad to see my fellow Marchers doing well! For those coming up, good luck!
  13. At the hospital getting ready for surgery. Send prayers and good vibes.
  14. Me too!!! We can do this though! Good luck tomorrow!! You'll probably be going in as I'm coming out.
  15. @Hopefulin2021 and @Auderly What time are y'all again? I report tomorrow at 5:30 for a 7:30am surgery. I'm still waiting on my COVID test results though so I hope I'm still good!
  16. Preop done! As long as the COVID test is negative, I’ll be going in at 5:30am for a 7:30 surgery!
  17. I know!! I go in for my preop and COVID testing this afternoon where they're supposed to tell me my reporting time and surgery time - then I get a text message asking me to confirm my 7:30am appt for Wednesday!!!! Having a time makes it sooooo real!!! Freaking out on the inside. My husband, mother and oldest child are freaking out enough on the outside that I have to be the calm one.
  18. I did the same. I've cut WAY down since October so I think that really helped. I didn't have carb withdrawal like I normally would have.
  19. I know!!! I do pre-op on Monday. Kinda freaking out, but also really surprised at how well I'm doing on the pre-op diet. I'm hoping this means I'll cruise through recovery. Thanks for the well wishes!
  20. I go in on Monday for COVID test and preop stuff. WOOHOO!
  21. Thank you! Luckily after a few days of sniffles, it progressed pretty quickly so I'm all good! Now just to pass my COVID test on Monday. That would really suck to find out it was more than just the crappy weather. I didn't get tested because 72 hours later, I was all better!
  22. There are several of us on here for March 3rd! Good luck to you!
  23. Me too! Kinda freaking me out about what life will look like this time next week!
