  2. Happy 62nd Birthday di1138!

  3. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary di1138!

  4. I do not have one pair of shoes that fit properly! I have no idea what my real shoe size is! I actually think I might have a narrow width... It is hard to find them in a store to try on. But shopping in the "normal" section is a wonderful experience!
  5. I started at 250 - size 22-24 Now 133 size 8 Funny how we can weigh the same but take different sizes.
  6. Head hunger is really the challenge. The band is a tool but we all can find ways around it. Even after a year I have to fight the "head". I have always been a stress eater. I find exercise helps a lot. I am at the gym 6 days a week. Once I work out I do not want to ruin the calorie burn by eating crap. Yoga also helps. Get your fill and dont give up.

    first day at gym

That is fantastic! I started 2 months after I was banded and it just helped melt the weight. I never thought I would say I love working out but now I feel like a slug if I miss more than one day a week! Good luck on your journey!

    Anniversary Challenge

August 22 was my one year anniversary! I have reached my weight loss goal and my weight is around 135-133! I feel fantastic. I exercise 6 days a week and have never been in this healthy in my life. I am hoping that even at my age (59) some day I can teach cycle spin class and yoga. I love my band and my new body!!
  9. I do weigh myself every morning when I am empty. I find that scales are not nice creatures! I can move mine an inch or so and get a weight 1/2 more or less than the first time I got on it. So I went out and bought a second scale and pretty much the same things happen. I have a weight watchers and a biggest loser scale. They never agree with each other! If anyone has a good scale I would love to know the brand.

    Help me please!!!!

Just call your doctor and tell him. I really doubt the little you ate makes that much difference. You must however, follow the pre-op prep from now on. It could cause problems if you don't. Good luck. I think you will be fine.
  12. It seems everyone is different and so are their doctors. All the things you mentioned were off limits for a while but then I was able to add things back, in moderation of course. Different foods bother people. I don't eat bread but I know it bothers a lot of people. Dry chicken can be a problem for me as well as soy beans. I eat a bag of 100 calorie popcorn every night and a lot of apples with skins (chew chew chew) with no problems. I also eat shrimp every so often. I know many of us eat nuts. I do not eat fried foods and really think it is a good idea to give them up. I have had a problem with celery but I know I didn't chew it well enough. I think it is a good idea to listen to your doctor then after several months you can see what bothers you. A word of caution, getting stuck is no fun! Chew chew chew. Good luck on your journey
  13. Hi, sorry it took so long for me to answer you. Good luck on your journey! I wish I could tell you I did something special but I just followed the doctors rules. Honestly I think the band adjusted my head too! The way I look at food has changed. Suddenly I Want to eat healthy. Before the band I didnt care. I do work out 5 days a week. It took me 6 months before I could say I enjoy it. Now I take several classes and love it! Let me know how you are doing. Best of luck - Diane

  14. Wow .... you have done great !!! Any little "secrets" to your success. Will be banded August 4th. Also, what kind of protein shake did you use ? Do you ever feel deprived ? Are you happy with your band ? Any complications ??

    Thanks !!!!!!!!!

    Protein and -- Sleeplessness?!

I doubt it but everyone is different. All I wanted to do on the preop diet was sleep! Maybe you are a little anxious about the surgery. When in doubt bring it to your doctors attention. Good luck on your journey.
