    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

So great to see all of this July surgery success! I’ll be 8 weeks post op on Tuesday. Down 42lbs since surgery and 63lbs total. I’ve hit a couple weight stalls along the way and currently in the longest one. But... my peloton bike arrived last week and it’s awesome. The work outs are already going to the next level! Goal weight is 42 more lbs away. Keep it up everyone!

Golf- When did you start back post op?

Thanks. I figured fatigue would play in to it. I’ve been walking 4-5 miles daily to build stamina so hopefully that helps. Did you have any incision or abdominal pain? I think that’s my biggest concern. I’m healing good and don’t want to mess myself up.
  3. I’m about 4 weeks post op from my bypass surgery. Down a total of 47lbs since pre-op diet and feeling great. My doc said I could start swinging a club at 4-6 weeks so I’m itching to start. Did anyone have any challenges to be aware of? I’m healing and feeling well but cautiously optimistic on adding golf. Love to hear any feedback. Thanks!

    30-30-30 rule with water

Good explanation. Thanks for sending that.
  6. Hey everyone! I start the mushy food stage next Tuesday and also the no water before, during and after food (30-30-30 rule). This seems like a lot to remember since I’m so used to having liquids right now. Anyone have challenges with this? Figured I would ask before I got started. Thanks!

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

Day 15 after gastric bypass. Just ate cream of chicken soup as phase two liquids. It was amazing! Lol. Never thought I would be so excited to eat something so simple. Also hit 40lbs lost since pre-op diet and walking 4-5 miles a day. I’m so glad that this surgery came in to my life. I’m a bit concerned on how mushy and solids will go but so far so good. I’ll take it! Hope everyone is well and I appreciate all the posts. It really helps navigate the journey.

    Ordering at a nice Steakhouse

Good tip! Lol. I have no plans to tell anyone about surgery. We all know this is hard enough to get to goal and want it to be about hard work and good decisions. But... you know how it goes when 16 guys are on vacation at a steakhouse ha. The word petite and steak won’t be coming out.

    Ordering at a nice Steakhouse

That’s encouraging! I’m so hoping Steak sits well. I’m not worried about the portion but I do have a question on the cook. Can I still do medium rare? Or should I aim at medium?

    Ordering at a nice Steakhouse

That’s helpful. I wasn’t thinking scallops as an option. I’m really hoping a small Steak is an option at this point but wanted to be prepared if it isn’t.

    Ordering at a nice Steakhouse

Ok so this question is very early in my weight loss journey but I can’t find anything online. I’m 2 weeks out from my bypass and things are going well. I hope to be on mushy food next week. Excited! My question is for when I’m eating solids. I have a few trips coming up (hopefully) that will be in 2021. One of these ya a guys golf trip where I know multiple nights at a steakhouse will be involved. I want to stay on target but also not overly obvious I’m eating tiny portions. I hope you get what I mean. What’s the best items to order at nice steakhouses? Obviously I’m not ordering a giant steak. Leftovers won’t be happening. Thanks in advance!

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

Well.... I reached out to my nut and she gave me a thumbs down on moving to full liquids. Looks like I’ve got another 5+ days of clear liquids. So bummed! But oh well! At least I don’t feel like I’m starving.

    July 2020 Surgery anyone?

So awesome that you are doing so well! I’m day 8 post op and having a very similar experience. Only thing holding me back is the sutures healing and some abdominal muscle soreness. Just curious, have you cheated on anything full liquid or mushy yet? My doc has me on clear liquids until day 14 but I’m actually starting to get hungry. A cream soup or a pudding just sounds so good I feel like my stomach can handle it but I’m a rule follower. Hope all is well!!

    Excessive stomach bruising

Thank you! I called today and they said the same thing. Doc said I can inject anywhere as long as I can pinch an inch.
  15. Hi everyone! I’m 6 days post op and so far so good. I am concerned at the level of bruising I’m getting on my stomach though. My entire lower stomach below the belly button is dark purple. The drs. Have me doing blood thinner shots in the same area and I’m running out of places to stick myself. Is this normal? Or should I be making a call?
