  1. @postop thanks! I’ll check it out
  2. I actually have less issues when I am on low carbs. I am really gassy since the surgery. The days that I eat less carbs I don’t have that issue. As far as high calories, I’m not absorbing a lot of that fat. I’ve started keto... for those who are interested I’ll keep you updated. Again, this is not a lifestyle thing. I got an ok from a PA I know, so here I go...

  4. Thanks Everybody! I’ll discuss this with my Dr.
  5. Ok so I’m not new to this. I am 10 months post op and have for some reason stopped losing weight no matter what I do (this is for over a month already) I realized that the way I’m eating is helping me maintain but I still need to lose about 30-40 lbs so I want to try keto- not for my whole life- just to do a 60 day thing or something just to get my body moving again. This is not a lifestyle change or anything like that....
  6. Anybody tried keto post ds / loop ds?
  7. 10 months out. I’m still keeping my surgery a secret. Sort of. Besides for my parents siblings and two good friends I can trust. I don’t think it’s anyone’s business. When someone asks me what I’m doing I shrug it off or tell them I’m eating healthier- which is the honest truth.
  8. Hey! so I’m an 18yr old female. I had the sips/ loop ds done when I was 17.5. I’m 10 months post op. I keep wondering if there are any others out there who are my age going through this. Although we wls-ers can all relate to each other in some way or another, I was wondering if anyone out there is about my age, still in high school or college or something like that... I’d appreciate getting feedback/ hearing about tour journeys. Stats: Night: 5”4” HW:275 SW:270 CW:180 GW:145 Surgery date: July 17 2019
  9. @jasmineinmymind, You are really lucky! Although I wish your sort of journey on everyone, not everyone’s ends up being like this. Agreed about the loose skin
  10. The calculator gave me a number and let’s just say within 6 months I was lower than that and still going. Calculates don’t mean anything everyone’s metabolism and body works at different speeds. Just a tip If you go according to those things you’ll end up disappointed that you won’t lose as much as you want to or that you lost less than you should have....
  11. The first week or two will be like that. I cried the 4th day because I wanted to CHEW something. It goes away after a while. I promise, it’s worth it. You will be so much happier. I obsessed about food the whole first month. After that you forget that food exists and you actually need to set reminders on your phone because otherwise you’d faint from lack of food. I’m serious. It’ll get better. Don’t take one day at a time take one hour at a time. This too shall pass.
  12. So just an update. Yesterday I was feeling really constipated and I decided to take a laxative. I dropped 4 pounds overnight. I’m thinking that I probably did gain about 2-3 pounds of pre menstruation fluid and the rest of it was the constipation.... still going to wait And see. Thanks for your help!
  13. I’ve been using my fitness pal since b4 surgery. Thanks for the tip tho
  14. Not sure abt the fiber but I have upped my protein intake... it’s just so frustrating. I chose this diet over the sleeve even though it’s way more risky because I didn’t want to deal with regain to the extent that the people that have done the sleeve do. I’m not even done losing weight. I was two pounds from not being obese for the first time since I was 5.
  15. I’ve been using the bathroom 1-2 times a day which is less than my usual but I’m not massively constipated or anything. My stomach has been bothering me a lot lately- bloating and all that fun stuff. Thanks. I will try drinking more
  16. I’m 9 months post op. I lost 93lbs. The last two and a half weeks I gained 8lbs! I tried eating better. Nothing doing. I’m still steadily gaining weight. How do I make it stop????
  17. Hey I’m 9 months post Sips/ loop ds. HW:270 SW: 269 GW:145 CW:177 Looking at old pics of myself makes me sad because I still feel very negatively about the way I look, but I look so much worse b4 I lost weight and that thought kinda depresses me.
  18. 1 TSP of sugar! Not table spoon!!!! Ik I shouldn’t have added it but there was no way to get the shake down without it.
  19. Breakfast today! Logged on my fitness pal
  20. Thank you. Starting today. This pandemic here in NY... it’s been crazy. Almost everyone at home was sick. My Dad almost died. He’s doing really well now thank G-d.... on a happier note I will be posting my first few meals to see if maybe there is something to improve. Anyone is free to comment/ add. Thanks for your support
  21. Most fruits and vegetables make me really bloated and gassy the ones high in fiber are hard for me to eat
  22. Omg!!! I died!!
  23. Hi! I’m 9 months post-op the loop ds. I lost a bit (ok, a lot) of control over my eating habits and it’s time to rejoin the band wagon! So here I am trying to refigure out which foods I can eat that are both healthy and won’t upset my stomach. I’ve had IBS prior to surgery and the malabsorption has complicated things so I’ve been eating whatever didn’t make me feel sick. Those foods are not exactly the right foods to eat, but I couldn’t handle being in the bathroom all day especially in school. (I’m 18. Had the surgery done when I was 17. Don’t freak out.. ?) with the Covina virus, and living in NYC, I’m Learning remotely now and have more time to focus on what I eat. I want to do high protein low fat because, ya, protein. And the fat gives me GI issues. Any ideas on meal planning?
