I'm a gamer, so I use the Habitica app. I set my own goals including difficulty settings (I'm disabled/ fibromyalgia too) so I have tasks/ achievements for when I take my Vitamins, have a Protein Shake, make my other Protein goals, Water intake, exercise etc. I get "experience" points and my character levels up, earns pets, mounts, items etc. I've just started using it and it's been a real help.

My weight loss surgery and nearly 4 stone weight loss so far means that I am considerably less likely to require intensive medical intervention if I contract Covid, so reducing the potential burden on hospitals. It has also meant that I have come out of the diabetic level which I was just about in, again reducing potential healthcare demands. Elective surgery can save lives. Some people are just unpleasant and probably at the moment don't have anything better to do than troll others online. Just ignore them!

Technically, any surgery not done emergently to save your life is classified as "elective." I could live without having my cataract surgery but I'd be blind. I could live without my hip replacement but I couldn't walk. So yes, technically WLS is elective, but necessary, to restore health as the one's named restore health.
I am also a nurse and work with several nurses who have had WLS. We all agree it's one of the best decisions we ever made. The decision is only up to you! Don't let anyone else influence your decision!
I have only had support from people that know about my surgery. What they may be saying behind my back doesn't matter.

    13DPO!

Had another post op visit today. Got my boob tape removed and reapplied, and had 2nd drain removed. I’m no down to one drain! Yay!

I’m a lot more mobile and have gotten pretty good at hiding my drain by tucking it in high waisted leggings!

Once my jacket it zipped up, I almost look normal! Lol!

@ChubRub I'm sad I feel so bad I missed that your surgery date came up but it makes me so happy for you that its happened and now the road to healing starts. You look absolutely awesome even with swelling the results are fab! I was thinking about you and for the life of me could not remember the date and here it passed. I had 200cc implants I did wonder if I had gone big enough to fill all the loose sagging skin thats all I had left. I had sagging skin of a 90 year old. I get it. and such a relief to have it gone. I see you got a recliner. I just had my bed, a step stool to get up and a bunch of pillows. I used a blowdryer to dry off my incisions after my showers before getting into the Faja. I didnt have much sun exposure these past months since surgery and most of my incisions are now looking pretty well healed just a few dark areas. I used a wound care wash I bought on Amazon after showers that helped a lot. (before drying off) and a propolis, silver, tea tree cream (dont know the name it wasnt in english) I havent checked around often my desktop had problems I ended up having to replace it and waiting on it is taking a while. I had a tablet but dont right now and I dont even have a cell phone (well just a old one not a smart phone I need to replace but not sure what im doing there) i using my moms old laptop for the moment. and things are just out of whack with me. sorry Im so out of the loop here. But you do look amazing!

Thanks so much! Yes, it's a new BB! I love it! It looks even better when I'm not swollen.
I love my new boobs too!!! My old boobs were a saggy mess. Like 80 year old woman saggy! LOL!!! They were quite uneven too (they've always been, but it wasn't as noticeable when they were full and perky, but as they got so saggy, it was painfully obvious). Husband is obsessed with the new boobs too. Keeps wanting to peek at them, even though he's not allowed to touch yet! Ha ha!!

FWIW, I'm Bi and coming out in the 90s was a b***h. I've never examined particularly how this has affected my weight/ body issues throughout my life, but then my ACE score is pretty high. I'd be happy to have a LGBTQIA-specific forum, similar to "the Gals' room" or The Guys' room," I think it could only help more people have a place to ask questions or rant on topics particular to us. Generally this page is more of a "everyone in the same boat of WLS" place, all are welcome though. I'm sorry that this has been a chilly reception for you, I haven't found it to be so, generally. Most everyone here is pretty nice.

No matter what you look like, everyone is nervous about their body their first time. If you’ve gone through the first couple of bases, so to speak, he’s felt what your body is like and he’s still interested. My advice is candlelight and ask him for a massage: everyone looks better by candlelight, he’ll get a feel for your body, squish and all, and it’ll help you relax and get comfortable with him touching and seeing you in an intimate way. Plus, a lot of men like women with some softness to them! If you have cats or are uncomfortable with open flames get the electric candles. Also, try talking to him about this. My personal rule has always been: if you don’t feel comfortable talking with someone about sex and intimacy, you probably shouldn’t be doing it with them. Men like being clued in. Good luck.

yes you do need to get back into it, or you're going to fail the surgery. You're in the stage where it's fairly easy to lose a ton of weight, so you need to take full advantage of that. It's never going to be easier in your life to take off a bunch of weight than it is right now, so don't blow it. The further out from surgery you go, the harder it is. If you really want to lose the weight and be successful, then you know what you have to do...

Still feeling great as far as pain is concerned. Switched from pain meds to Tylenol yesterday. I have a lot of fatigue (similar to how I felt after WLS). Took 2 naps yesterday, and 2 naps today (so far)! Was planning on showering today, but napped instead. I have promised myself that I would find the energy to shower tomorrow!
Still in my recliner with my compression booties. Can't wait to be able to sleep on my side someday soon!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!! 🙂

Relax your body is fighting back and has gone thru a ton, Plus I can tell your anxiety level is high. You are not going to loose the same amount every week.
Stay on course and remember you are doing this journey for you health, It is a journey nobody here will tell you it is a sprint. They say eat slow because your body is healing, I suggest you turn your focus to something else that makes you happy, For me it was a puppy,
You got this ..... You wanted this ...... You did it! Now the reward in the future will be worth it

Typically, at about 3 weeks post-op you'll have a stall in weight loss, could last a week or a few weeks. It breaks eventually, but it's very disheartening. If you do a search on the forum for "3 week stall" you will find a lot of posts and information.

So after I lost all the Water weight from surgery, I lost 10lbs- all by week 1.5. Now? Nothing. I'm just past my 2 week mark now. Did I get the infamous 3 week stall early? Also sick of feeling kinda crappy multiple times per day. And who has time to eat 8x per day?? And do they really expect it to take 1/2 hour + to eat 2oz of food? ? Very frustrated.

I'd never heard about the "three-week stall" in my pre-op classes so I absolutely freaked when the weight loss stopped during weeks 2 and 3 post-op. I thought I was going to be the first person on the planet whose weight loss surgery wouldn't work. Thank God for internet forums like this one - I found a gazillion postings on here about it. I've been volunteering with the pre-op classes for the last three years at my clinic. Trust me, I tell every group about the three week stall!
