  1. Had my sleeve on 5/27 and only told my immediate family and one long distance friend that had it done a couple of years ago. When people ask how I’m losing weight I tell them multiple small meals a day and riding my stationary bike. All of that is true and just don’t want the judgment of their disapproval of surgery.

  3. My insurance was going to make me jump through so many hoops and take about a year to approve after that. I chose to self pay. Doctor, hospital and anesthesia was $11500. I had it done in West Texas.
  4. You look amazing! Congratulations!
  5. Thanks for your insight! I tried my gummy vitamins that I took prior to my sleeve and didn’t have any nausea. I guess I just can’t take the Bariatric ones at this stage. I’m sticking to the gummies for now!
  6. Thank you! I will try taking right before and see if it gets better.
  7. I’m taking my vitamins about 30 minutes after eating about 2-3 oz of food and getting extremely nauseated. I’m 3 weeks out from being sleeved. Any advice? Thanks!
  8. Congratulations! I’m 2 1/2 weeks out and I add two teaspoons of Benefiber to my water each day. It’s keeping me regular. Keep sipping, it will get better everyday.
  9. Thanks everyone! I just needed others perspective! I appreciate all the support!
  10. I lost 21 lbs pre-op and currently at 208 lbs. I’m riding my stationary bike for 30 minutes a day.
  11. I’m 16 days out and have only lost 6.2 lbs since surgery. Any ideas on how I can start losing faster? I’m working out 30 minutes a day and eating soft foods and protein shakes that my doctor suggested.
  12. I’m a little over two weeks out from my sleeve and have been cooking dinner for my husband, elderly mom and aunt for this week. It hasn’t bothered me what they eat because I fix my food to eat at the same time. I try to focus on how much healthier I will be and the weight loss instead of the what I can’t have. My family has been very supportive. I hope it gets better for you!
  13. I’m sorry for the mistake. Please ignore the posting.
  14. I was sleeved the same day and still have a large bruise from the Lovenox shot. It’s never been painful though. Hope you feel better soon!
  15. 21 lbs over two months of stopping and starting again due to being cancelled! I was sleeved on May 27th and lost another 5 lbs since surgery. Total of 26 lbs.
  16. Awesome! You look amazing! Thanks for the inspiration!!
  17. Glad you are getting yours done soon. I just came from my first week checkup and doc was pleased with progress. I get to start soft foods on Friday. I’m ready to try something else and get some strength back. Keep us posted how you do after yours. Good luck!
  18. Hi Nikki, stay strong and start eating healthy, so it will be easier when you have your sleeve. I’m five days out and just starting to feel a little more human. Where are you having your sleeve done?
  19. Had my sleeve two days ago. Still pretty groggy. I had a rough night the first night because my blood pressure dropped due to the scopolamine patch. Once that was removed everything got better. Been sipping lots of water and finally started sipping on protein shake this afternoon. Going real slow, but no pain only a little discomfort when standing up. Doctor said to rest a lot for this first week and start getting more exercise in my routine after that.
  20. Thanks for the advice and support! I appreciate it very much! Glad to hear your wife is doing great! My husband is so supportive, even though he doesn’t have a weight issue he sees my struggle.
  21. Awesome! He’s my doctor as well! Any advice for the next few days after surgery?
  22. I'm also in Lubbock and having my sleeve done tomorrow! Looks like you have made great progress! I'm down 21 pounds preop. Hoping for a new lease on life and being able to do more things with my husband and grandkids. Did you have your sleeve done in Lubbock?
  23. Thanks for your support! I’m scheduled for Wednesday and I’m ready!
  24. Anyone from West Texas that has been sleeved? I’m scheduled for May 27th and looking for an online friend for support.
