  1. My husband and I both love New Balance, but I also enjoy Skechers. I think either would be a great affordable choice!
  2. Still can’t really eat eggs after 11 months out. They just feel like they get stuck in my throat and won’t go down.
  3. I had my gastric sleeve at 63. Best decision I could have made. Paid for it out of pocket without insurance help. Didn’t want to jump through hoops for another year to have insurance pay for it. Highly recommend it to change your life. I’m 11 months out and need to lose 11 lbs to reach my goal.
  4. I’m two weeks out since my tummy tuck with muscle repair and hernia repair. I definitely have a restriction and am back to eating portions like when I began eating solid foods after my gastric sleeve. My plastic surgeon said that’s very common and should continue for awhile.
  5. Usually about 9 pm I have 1/2 cup low-fat cottage cheese and water.
  6. Black coffee with Vital Protein Powder.
  7. I just had a tummy tuck, hernia repair and breast lift on Monday. I’m 64 years young. No regrets and I’m still very much in the healing process. Had Gastric sleeve 11 months ago and so glad I didn’t wait any longer for my plastics. I had a basketball size hernia sack that was removed as well as hernia repair with mesh and about 3-4 lbs of skin. It’s all worth it! Go for it at any age!
  8. How did your muscle repair go? I’m having a tummy tuck with muscle repair and a breast lift soon.
  9. I also get a runny nose and sneeze when I’m full. Glad to know I’m not the only one.
  10. My husband and I both got the Moderna. We had a sore arm after the first one and we were both extra tired after the second one the day after. I would recommend anyone to get it. We lost too many friends to Covid.
  11. Has anyone had an abdominal hernia repair and tummy tuck at the same time? I had abdominal hernia repair 4 months before my VSG and it’s not right. My lower abdomen has been extremely distended since the surgery, even with a 66 pound weight loss. Just want to hear anyone else’s experience. Thanks!
  12. I’m six months out and my stomach is so noisy after eating or drinking. There is no pain associated with the noise. My husband now calls me “Tiger” due to all the growling.
  13. I’ve lost 74% of my goal in 6 months. Need to lose 22 more pounds. It’s been slow this past month. Only losing about a half pound a week.
  14. Do any of the protein waters come without flavoring and taste just like water? I can’t do any artificial sweeteners.
  15. I’m 3 months out and still can’t drink ice water. Drink mine room temperature and still can’t get down more than 32 oz in a day. I’m working on it though and have discussed it with my doctor this week. He wasn’t too concerned since I’m doing great otherwise.
  16. I never had any pain with my sleeve, just had a drop in blood pressure due to the scopolamine patch and they removed it and I was just fine. Only took one dose of pain meds when I got home the first night as a precaution. Never needed anything after that.
  17. I just stayed overnight for my sleeve in May.
  18. I’m down 31 pounds since surgery date and a total of 52 pounds from my heaviest in pre-op. Still eating very small portions about 4 times a day. So glad I made the decision to have surgery. Congrats to all my fellow May losers!!
  19. You seem to be on the same track as me. I was 215 on day of surgery and now 3 months out and I weigh 184.5. So I have basically lost 10 pounds a month. Slow but hopefully it will stay off this way. Don’t get discouraged, it will happen for both of us!
  20. Does adding it to water change the taste?
  21. I’m 10 weeks out from my sleeve and haven’t been able to drink the protein shakes for the past 9 weeks. I get extremely nauseated and almost throw up if I just drink a few sips. I drank them just fine during preop and just can’t gag them since. I try to get my protein from food, but don’t always succeed due to not being able to hold anymore for or liquids. It’s very frustrating!
  22. I had mine done on 5/27/2020 at the age of 63. No pain, just occasional nausea and gas. I’ve lost a total of 45 pounds and want to lose 45 more. So happy with my choice to have it done!
  23. Congratulations! I’m also interested in what shakes you use.
  24. I lost 11 lbs the first 3weeks and then went on a 13 day stall. Then past 8 days I have lost 7 lbs. Stay the course and don’t get discouraged we can do this!
