  1. Nope shes still not onboard. Had to have my mother take the surgery day off so she could bring me.
  2. I have to drink some pre surgery liquid carb drink made by ensure before my surgery. Probably the same reasoning, having carbs before surgery is suppose to help with recovery.
  3. I actually dont have to do a liquid diet before surgery
  4. Its starting to get real. I'm on the 26th. I just let my boss know I was going to be out for about 2 weeks. Is that enough time? I have a desk job.
  5. Ya man. But it's not the weight loss that will get you dates it's the confidence you'll gain that will attract the ladies. I was big all my life. My first date was when I was 24 and thats because I lost 160 lbs and put my self out there on dating sites. That was 10 years ago. Since then I've put on varying degrees on weight back on and was still able to get dates I fractured my back a few years ago and put all the weight back on so I'm getting sleeved in 2 weeks.
  6. Any deal with chronic pain before and still after surgery? I have surgery in two weeks and this has been on my mind. I have chronic pain in my back. I fractured a vertebrae and had to have a lumbar fusion a few years ago. I also have some bad discs in my neck that hurt like hell the past 2 years. I'm hoping the surgery helps but I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to cope since food became my go to.
  7. Congrats! Did they give you pain rx for home? I'm in MA, surgery in two weeks. I feel like they are trying to do away with the pain meds.
  8. I'm two weeks from tomorrow. My 3 year old came home from preschool sick. Hope I dont catch anything.
  9. My program did away with the self administered pain meds this month. Hope it isn't too bad
  10. We have the same surgery date! Congrats.
  11. Nope. I have no pre op diet. Can eat normally. Just have to have those drink the night before and day of. I found the exact stuff they gave me https://ensure.com/nutrition-products/ensure-pre-surgery
  12. Has anyone had their surgery and had to drink liquid carbs beforehand? Sounds strange. The program at my hospital is making changes starting for surgeries in feb (I'm on the 26th) One of them is a bottle of liquid carbs the night before and 2 the morning of surgery. They also changed the hospital stay from usually 2 to 1. And we no longer get pain medicine that you self administer as needed.
  13. I dont think shes afraid of me dying. I asked her why she was against it and the only thing she could say was she doesnt want to have to deal with me eating weird food? Honestly if that's really her reason then I'll divorce her myself
  14. I kind of want to tell her my body my choice but that wouldn't go over so well. Although isn't that what women preach? My wife isn't large. Never had a weight issue but shes put on a few since our first child.
  15. Scheduled for Feb 26 here in Massachusetts
  16. Hi all. Josh is the name. First post. I have surgery scheduled on Feb 26th. I'm excited. My wife has been against it for months when I first brought it up. Claims WLS is a money making scam and thinks that being a nurse makes her an expert. I let her know my plans as soon as i got a surgery date. About 5 weeks beforehand. I did kind of drop the news on her but I knew she would never let me get as far into the process as I have. Shes very unsupportive and is even threatening divorce if i go thru with it. I'd like to mention that i just found out shes pregnant so i think she may try stabbing me in my sleep.
