  1. Just take it slow and chew alot and you should be fine. I just started soft foods today after 2 weeks of liquids. I had an egg and a string cheese. Went down quite well. Best damn egg I've ever eaten in my life. I plan on trying tuna tomorrow.
  2. Eating my first solid food. Chose an egg. Wish me luck
  3. I'm 2 weeks out tomorrow. Also have a nutrition appointment tomorrow. Im suppose to start phase 3 on Thursday where I can finally incorporate some solids. I can add cheese, eggs, and tuna. Hoping they will let me start a day early.
  4. I brought a bunch of stuff but only used my charger. They provided a toothbrush and paste. I even had a robe but never used it because I had an iv attached the entire time so I wouldn't be able to get the robe on.
  5. Ya the protein shakes have been hard for me. Greek yogurt goes down easy. Try those protein isolate drinks that are more like juice. Isopure and syntax nectar. Those have been going to easy for me.
  6. I'm 12 days out been doing pretty good but I woke up in the middle of the night with a pain in the middle of my chest. Very uncomfortable and hard to go back to sleep. Was pretty nauseous all day today.
  7. I've been on full liquids since I left the hospital but I'm only now branching out into soups. I'm 9 days out. I can drink that 11oz soup in an hour.
  8. For those in the early stages doing soup these are really good. Found them at target. https://www.campbells.com/well-yes/sipping-soups/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAhojzBRC3ARIsAGtNtHVNFpdjFh9VL2mRFcjbzwdf4YyEWWdsyedpxmn2SS7fBw2uhqNg4igaAq7bEALw_wcB
  9. I have a lower back fusion and still have chronic pain in my back and neck. I decided the wls made more sense before I had any more surgeries on on back. Oddly enough, I had my wls last week and ever since I woke up I had zero pain in my back and neck. I'm sure itll come back but a nice surprise.
  10. Not sure if this is strange or not but I suffer from chronic pain in my lower back and neck the last 3 years. When I woke up from my sleeve surgery last week the pain was gone. My doctor couldn't explain it. Still no pain a week out and haven't taken any pain meds since I left the hospital. I've read that your body can only handle so much trauma that it picks and chooses what to focus on. Dont know if that's true or not but feels nice after 3 long years even if its only temporary.
  11. I feel you. I'm a week out today so tomorrow I get to chew on my vitamins and calcium chews, sick of these liquids.
  12. Had my one week appointment today. I weighed the same as I did on the day or surgery.
  13. So I'm in my 30s 6' 360lbs. I made the decision pretty quickly. I think most people do. I tried everything before going to the doctor so that made the decision easy. My wife is like you, never had any weight issues so she couldn't relate to how I was feeling. I dont think you can. I'm only a week out of surgery but if you have any specific questions, let me know.
  14. I'm having a hard time drinking water and protein shakes, anyone else? but I can drink gatorade and greek yogurt pretty easily.
  15. Surgery went well. Came home this past friday. Haven't been feeling too great since then. Constant pain in my chest when I sip something. One incision on my right side hurts like hell. So I cant really bend. I feel bad because I told her I would bounce back quickly when I got home.
  16. You sound exactly like my wife. Are you my wife? When I met my wife I was in decent shape. I had lost about 160lbs over 2 years and kept it off for almost 10. Then one day I hurt myself and gained it all back and have been struggling the last 3 with chronic pain. My wife has been against me having wls. Says I should have been able to lose the weight normally like everyone else. Called me a coward. Said things like you must not love your family if you wont even do it for them. But that's not how it works. Would you tell someone with a drug problem to just man up and quit or would you get them professional help?
  17. So last night was pretty miserable. 3rd day post op but first night home. Could not sleep in my bed. So painful. I'm usually a stomach sleeper but kept trying to alternate between back and side. Didnt get any discharge info on sleep. Might have to try sleeping in a recliner. My snoring was so bad my wife left and slept on the couch. Any tips to sleep better?
  18. Ugh day 3 post op. The first 2 days were great but now my incisions are hurting bad and alot of pain in my chest. Alsowoke up at 3am with a bloody nose
  19. Saw my surgeon for the first time today since the surgery. I thought getting in fluids would be hard but it wasn't. I asked if he even did the surgery. He laughed.
  20. So it day 2. They started me on drinking water. Drank a 12oz bottle in about 2 hours. Starting my second bottle
  21. Had my surgery yesterday morning. Wasn't too bad. If it wasn't for that one big painful incision I wouldn't have been able to tell I had surgery. In my recovery room. Hard to sleep when people keep constantly coming in. When I did wake up, the middle of my chest started to hurt. Feels rough. Almost like a rock is stuck
  22. For those following this post, I'm scheduled tomorrow for surgery. Shes been pretty quiet the last week but I came home and she gave me this so i think shes coming around.
  23. Hey! I'm tomorrow too. Check in at 8am. Sorry about the liquid pre op. I only have to do liquids today. Yay me.
  24. I didnt even think of this. I have surgery in a week and have slept on my stomach as long as I can remember. Tried to sleep on my back dozens of times to help with some back issues and I could never do it. How screwed will I be
