Hey! I had the sleeve done 1/7/20. I’m official down 60 pounds! I did just come off a three week stall which was so frustrating, but then I lost 7 pounds in 4 days 😂 crazy how this works.
I don’t get all my Fluid, but I try to get close. Only food I’ve had a problem with are the greasy meats. Sausage, bacon, brats, etc.
other than that things have been great!

I made bread today for my family and took a small night to see how it went, and I'm happy to report I had no stomach issues. It's nice to just have a small bite of something as feel satisfied. Plus my family is happy to have fresh baked goods in the house again

  3. Congrats!

Hello everyone, since gyms are closed I wanted to share I am using YouTube workout videos to keep working out. I am surprised how well they work. My gym routine was getting easier and after one 30 minute video I was sore the next day. It's a good way to stay on track especially since extra Snacks are difficult to avoid with so much time at home. Surgery 1/14 weight 257 current weight is 212.

Last update: Urologist confirmed, it was nasty scarring! No need for follow up with Urology... however I do need to take steps to protect the remainder of my kidney. The scar/damage area is huge (golfball), the kidney has definitely atrophied... but otherwise the rest of the kidney is in good health. Need to keep it that way. My biggest challenge will be preventing UTI's. I need to stop doing some of the stuff I was originally taught my entire life to do to prevent them. No cranberry. Have a lit of foods to avoid. I instead will be adding D-Mannose supplements which I had never heard of before lol. It doesn't prevent or fight the bacteria... but instead makes the lining of the bladder "slippery" so the bacteria can't stick to it. Interesting. Learn something new every day. Once again, I had no symptoms, but my urinalysis showed an infection so I am on antibiotics again. Have to see my PCP to recheck my urine. I swear, I always have a UTI. And I rarely have symptoms. So, keeping UTI free will be challenging!

Well not on quarantine but order to Shelter in place. I have still been going out for walks as that is allowed. We're not sick but a lot of people in our country and area counties are sick. They're trying to prevent it from spreading to even more. So I go out biking or walking and stay more than 6 feet away from people. I haven't been to the store, for over a week.

Well I found a lot of time if I'm hungry I noticed I need to drink Water. Sometimes I have to set a timer to remind me to drink, every 15 minutes. I know I'm further along than you. I did have 1 egg like before 2nd week was over but took like an hour to eat it 🤦🏼‍♀️ The next time when I had seen Zare I had egg with cheese 🤭 and it was good, but still took forever to eat it. Everyone is so different.
Dr Zare put me on shots that was the hardest thing and oh god the med he has me on for gallstones I hate it.

Ah I haven't gone to any support groups yet, don't know if I will. I told quite a few of my close friends before doing this and so far all have been very supportive. Because I had like weird eating (keto) before my surgery, everyone is kind of use to me and my having to order stuff a specific/special way I guess. Also my husband has been so supportive too. So I mean I guess with the help of the online community here too, I feel like I'm good. If that makes sense?
How's it going you're only a week out. I was hating life still at a week out. Now however I am feeling great.

That's so great! Sounds like you're set up for success and so glad it's going great!
This place is really helpful. I really wish I'd known about it before my surgery, but so glad I've got it now. You're probably right that it'll have more than enough answers for my nervous nelly brain.
Not exactly hating life, but I'm hungry, which I didn't expect. Maybe it's just mind games. Plus, I am a worrier, so constantly wonder if I'm doing/done something to mess things up. Thankfully, the pain hasn't been too bad and I haven't had any nausea (knock on wood) which would really be a bummer.
    Thanks again for asking

12 days is still so short of time to be feeling great. I mean I know everyone says that but the new normal sucks and wow you've been having your cycle for the past 11 days. Have you been menstruating that whole time? I got my period myself way early and it was longer than normal and I think my Iron was low during that time which made me tired. Also it's a mind game too. I know you're tired and tired of being fat but it wasn't over night that we got this way. I know our expectations are so great and we compare ourselves to others, which makes it even harder to feel better.
Also I don't know how your diet was before and if you were as low carb before your surgery, you could be kind of experiencing your body go through sugar withdrawals, I went on the Keto diet prior to surgery. The nutritionist was fine with it (I saw my nutritionist like at month 1 and had 5 to go) she wanted me to transition to low carb less fat closer to my surgery date but I remember getting off sugar and it was pretty awful.
Did you have to do 10 days of full liquid diet prior to surgery? So many surgeons are so different, that's why I ask.
I'm sorry there isn't just one little thing to fix and a variety of reasons why you might not feel so great.
I'm wishing you the best of luck 🍀 in figuring it out. ❤️ Lean on the message boards if you don't have a great support system at home. Everyone seems to be pretty great on here.

Checking back in after a few weeks off the app. I am doing well, eating is a lot easier now, I am able to eat most things and apart from some gentle pain saying I have eaten too much (corn wrap with chicken, cream cheese and some diced onion almost destroyed me). Loss seems to be going well, was signed off by the surgeon. Went swimming at the weekend but wore a pair of old shorts that haven't fitted me for 3 years, they almost fell off as soon as I got into the water... awesome! Felt good.
Keep it up January Folks, looks like everyone is doing well.

I've been cleared to eat what I like, but I am still being good. 58lbs down since the 8th of Jan and 53lbs down since the op on the 15th of Jan. I had / have a lot to lose but I am being good. Been told I can exercise now as well today so going to get on the WattBike I have hired and start lifting some 5kg dumbells, should help with firming too, which actually is not too bad so far, belly is shrinking well. An average day for food for me looks like -
Breakfast - shake - 25g of Protein with Vitamins and minerals & cup of Decaf tea Mid morning - either a 20g protein yogurt (low sugar) or 1/2 a 30g Phd Smart Protein Bar lunch - chicken breast cut up with a few carrots or Beans Mid afternoon - either a 20g protein yogurt (low sugar) or 1/2 a 30g Phd Smart Protein Bar dinner - 4oz steak or chicken breast or cottage pie or scrambled eggs & either low salt / sugar baked beans, refried beans, veg mix I am pushing down as much Water as possible and having my vits and supps.
Feel good. Some discomfort if I eat too much or too quickly, but on the whole it has been good. No reflux or vomiting. A little loose out back if I eat too much dairy (possibly sugars) but otherwise good.
Doc told me to only weigh myself once a week to help overcome any negativity of slow loss days, which I now do and is working well. Losing about 4.5lbs a week now.
One thing I have noticed is my breath stinks, I am sure this is ketosis as I am eating mainly protein-based foods, but is this something anyone else has found. Hate it!
Working hard to look good on a trip to the US (Pendleton Camp, San Diego and Santa Monica) and I am going on in June, need to look my best!

I walked nearly every hour while I was in the hospital because I was on morphine, so that helped. I never got any gas pain because of it. I was in awful pain once the morphine wore off and I had to take only pain meds. But it wasn't gas pain, only incision and stomach pain though. I know everyone says walk, but it's true. As best as you can move.

Melting tablets for Vitamins. I like the BariMelts brand. Unflavored Isopure Protein Powder, 100% whey Protein Isolate. I mixed it in for extra protein. I drink regular Water as well as Vitamin Water Zero costco brand. Premier Protein Shakes from Costco - chocolate, Carmel, vanilla (I like to mix pumpkin pie spice with vanilla) Gold Bond Ultimate hydrating lotion MRM Low Carb Protein - Chocolate ( I mix this with the hot chocolate powder they gave me and make popsicles) popsicle molds ☝🏻 If you don't have a full body girdle ( I had two) I found them to be more helpful then the weird binder thing they gave me the hospital. It helped hold me in and up so my stomach didn't hang down and hurt. I got cannabis tinctures with high CBD content because I am a baby with pain and you can't take more pain meds I also got a cannabis CBD cream that I absolutely loved to use on my pain (not on incision sites of course) Is that what you're asking?

I can't even imagine going through this alone. I guess I would explained to her and ask her to come to your preop appointment. Give her the pamphlets you've gotten from the surgeon. You're pretty close to surgery date so I imagine you've already started the "weird" food because liquid diet.
You're definitely going to need the support from someone after the surgery, hopefully it's your wife. Wow being in the medical field I would think she would know it's not a scam, but a tool to help with weight loss especially when you're a loss of what else to do.
    Good Luck 🍀

Love your story. I will be two years out July 2nd. I feel great . I am super strict and help others be successful in their journey which helps me! I fear gaining wait every day... I never want to go back! I still ask myself what is my body getting from eating this food ... if the answer is nothing I tend to stay away from it, but I still like to have my salty Snacks occasionally. I just fear going back and I never want to do that. Ever!!!!
