Sleeved 1/28. And I still get very sharp pains that come and go (with movement) near the big dented incision. Anyone else experience this too??

Someone at work finally asked me if I was loosing weight. I’m six weeks in and down from surgery weight of 289 to today 267 (started at 308) So much more to go, but little by little. I need to give up my cheese stick!!! (Which I eat to get my calories up and Protein in. Who ever would have guessed ild have that problem!!)

I mean, I'm not sure there's a less photogenic photo of my face, lol, but this is my six week week progress pic. 25 pounds down from surgery Jan 27 (surgery weight 246, current 221). My clothes are all starting to get loose. But I'm living in leggings and hoodies for now. I don't want to waste money continually buying clothes.

Today I was finally able to take off my wedding rings!! It is the first time in 3 years I’ve been able to do so. Best non scale victory!! Thank goodness my marriage has held together. 🤣😂

I used to love having big giant gulps of cold Water but find it hard to “sip” plain water. The ice cold water with apple cider vinegar and truvia is actually very refreshing. I said 2tsp acv per 8 oz water but probable more like 1tsp because I add ice. Can’t wait to see if I drop another two pounds overnight. lol

Just had my two week post op follow up and am doing great. Down 20 lbs since my first visit and 14 since surgery. Surgeon cleared me for machines at the gym as long as I can hit 400-500 calories a day. Any less than that and I'm doing myself a disservice. Still a couple months away from intense workouts like kickboxing and body combat.

He called me one of the easy ones.

I'm excited to get to the gym tonight!

Ugh sorry you're still having pain. I had RNY and felt no pain after a few days. But I did hear someone who was sleeved say that one incision was harder and longer to heal because that's the one they pulled the excess stomach through.

Starting this thread because A) we are post op now and B ) the other thread is ridiculously long. Loving the updates so let’s keep it going 😘

Let's make this the official January surgery date thread. I will be having my surgery on 1/31/2020. I was certain that I was going to have the vsg, but I'm learning more and leaning towards the rouxny (rny) gastric bypass. Whatever you decide, let's get this thread started and support one another. I'm just starting it, but anyone can feel free to jump in and keep it going 💜.

Had my sleeve in 1/28. So I’m on day 4 post opp. Was finally able to drink a whole Protein Shake. Took me an hour but I did it. I made the mistake of weighing myself and I’m up 15 pounds from Tuesday. I’m walking to get rid of the gas they pump us with but man—when you are sore and the scale goes up it’s frustrating!

Do not get on the scale! You're swollen, pumped full of fluids and air. Let your mind AND body rest and don't weigh yourself for a couple of weeks!

Had my VSG surgery in the 28th. Came home last night. I have a lot of pain now. I walked and walked at the hospital and have been walking in circles here at home. I seem to have the hiccups constant now. Anyone else have hiccups??

I just want to say congratulations to everyone who here who took the major step of wls. There is a pervasive myth that wls is the easy way and even though we are just beginning, we all know that there is nothing easy about major surgery and committing to a lifelong dietary plan where we are determined to change and deny ourselves the thing that once brought us immense pleasure. Or at least we told ourselves it brought us pleasure because food was our friend. WLS doesn’t miraculously cure us of our love of food or our cravings for food, WLS is a tool to help us overcome our addiction to food. It just really surprises me to hear so many people who have zero knowledge about WLS say that it’s the easy way and we should just cut calories and exercise. So congratulations to my fellow warriors!!

Only my husband knows. I haven’t even told my teen son. I’ve had one in a million health issue i was born with and have only told my husband. Of course my parents knew and told everyone this side of the U.S. lol. It took me years to “forgive” them for sharing my private health problems (diagnosed at 16). Hence, with my sleeve surgery coming up next week—no one but my husband and I will know!

Hi all! I’m a few hours post-op and all went excellent! Very slight pain, almost none. No nausea. I’m going to take a nap now, so more details later. Thanks for all the support! ❤️
