  1. Your post has really re-assured me bbaby!!! Looking forward to my consultation now and meeting the surgeon who I have just been watching on Supersize Surgey!!
  2. Thank you so much for this post, i am having my consultation on 7th June in Leeds with WGA and I'm terrified!! I'm seeing Audun Sigurdsson who I've just been watching on The Hospital Group website, he was the head surgeon in the Supesize Surgery programe on ITV, so thats re=assured me!! Keep us all posted on the op!! Take Care Kerri
  3. I'm booked in for a consultaion in June and hopefully having op in September as I'm on holiday in August and don't fancy risking being taken ill in Turkey and I can't get insurance either. Im having consultation in Leeds with "why go abroad", which is owned by the Hospital Group...which has got rather slated on here due to the aftercare. The package with WGA is £4950, and basically has only a 28 day aftercare package and you have to pay for the fills yourself, but financially thats better for me, I am abit concerned about no aftercare or support but I know a few people that have had it and theres places like this so hopefully I will manage ok, and like all the books say, "the band only does 30% of the work", so I have to have got that strength and will power within me, and I am subborn so am determind to prove everyone wrong that thinks I will fail!!
  4. Hi, I can't answer your questions as I'm yet to be banded and I'm asking the same things as you, just wanted to say "hi" and let you know that I've only been a member here since yesterday, but sooooooo many people have reassured me already!! Kerri
  5. Hi Boo, Thanks so much for your reply, It's my 30th next year and thats what has spurred me on, I want to have a party and be able to go shopping and buy a dress in a non-plus size shop!!! You have made me feel so much more positive about my decision and the aftermath i have coming!!! Your weight loss is fantastic , and I can't wait to join the club!!! Keep me posted and inspired!! Kerri
  6. So glad to read posts from people who feel like I do!!! I'm going for my consultation next week.....and I can't wait for my old school friends to see me, and my ex of 10yrs who left me for a 44yr old!!! (turned out to be best thing he ever did tho) and also someone I work with who wants to now "JUST BE FRIENDS"....only so we don't lose what we have!!!! Hopefully he will soooooooo regret that when I'm a gorgeous size 14!!!
  7. I'm glad there's not only me who has friends that don't understand, and have told me I'm being silly, and the old cliqche....."you have such a pretty face"!! My problem is I'm getting the same reaction off my family, maybe they are just worried, but they are making me feel so isolated and basically like I wanna do this alone for myself!! Had a rough 3 yrs and now this is me time!!!.....This place is my saviour!! :biggrin2:
  8. Thanks so much for the encouragement, and Congratulations on your weight loss!! It's being on here thats gonna get me through, people who haven't been through it or felt like I do can say they understand or say im stupid, but until theyve been at that dark place where you don't want to go out its all just words Keep up the good work!! Kerri x
  9. I have my consultation with WGA on 7th June, did you end up going with them?? Or anyone else had any recent experience with them??
  10. Hello All, I thought I'd join this and ask for your thoughts.... I'm booked in for my gastric band consultation on the 7th June, and quite honestly.....I AM TERRFIED!!!. All my family and friends think I am mad, and I'm sure a few think I'm taking the easy option and should try diets (again), but I personally can't take the "yo-yo" effect anymore....I am a fit & healthy person on the inside, but with a shell that doesn't match (thats what the doctor has said) and I now want the body to match!!!...and if 1 more person says the old cliqche "you have such a pretty face" I will bop em!! My main worry is obviously the surgery, but I keep thinking "what if the band doesn't work?" and "Can I ever go out socially for a meal again?"....and most of all...."how big is the fill needle?" (i hate em!!) So if anyone can shere their thoughts and experiences with me I would be VERY gratefull!! Thanks Kerri xx
