  1. Hi, I hope you have better luck then me with the NHS, initially when I was under the weight management clinic I didn't want to consider surgery, since then I have had all the tablet, numerous dietitian appointment and nothing, so I changed my mind, I spoke to the consultant who then decided that my BMI was too low, but it was high enough if I had problems with my blood pressure and colesterol, which he has tested and in his words are "suprisingly perfect!!", I also have a prolapsed disc in my spine which doesnt help with my weight and I can't have any further treatment because of it, but still he said "No", so after the rollercoaster of the NHS i'm now booked in private!! Good Luck with your consultation x
  2. "Why Go Abroad" is in Birmingham, you have to op at Dolan Park in Bromsgrove, they are part of the Hospital Group but £3,000 cheaper as they only provide 28 days aftercare and you have to pay for the fills. My surgeon is Audun Siggurdson and he was the head surgeon on the ITV program "supersize surgery" that was filmed at Dolan Park, you can watch the series on The Hospital group website, I felt alot happier aftyer that, and he was great at the consultation, as long as the op goes fine I can deal with the "not so reliable" staff afterwards.
  3. I'm booked in with Why Go Abroad for £5,000....but obviously some people haven't had much look after the op with them, but for me the cost is the main factor.
  4. Im booked in a ready to go!! paid my deposit and having the op in September, after my last "blow out" holiday!! Im really excited about my new life ahead, family and friends are still unsure, but they will have to accept my decision, i do appreciate they are worried, and that worry seems to be coming out negitively!!
  5. This will be the 1st time I will be happy to be on the "losing" team!! I am starting to get excited now and wish I was going sooner, but I have decided to have a blow out when I go to Turkey 1st!!
  6. I wish you lot would stop putting "only" before your weight loss!!! You are all doing great, and all those 1 and 1 1/2 lbs are going the right way!!! How about swopping the word "only" for "another"??? much more positive, cos you should be proud!! Keep up the good work and I will hopefully be joing you soon!! Kerri xx
  7. Hi Katie I've got my surgery booked with WGA, I think it's a minefield as WGA has very mixed reviews on here, but the cost is what has made me decide to go with them, I wish it wasn't like that but I can't afford the extra £3000 for aftercare, but need the surgery for my own sanity!! From my consultation they seemed good though and I was happy with my surgeon. I have researed surgery for the last 4mths, I hope you find someone you feel happy with!!! Good Luck, Happy Searching!! Kerri xx
  8. Glad to hear everything has gone ok with the surgery....I'm wondering why they strap you down now!!! that will freak me out!!! Why can't I get my ticker to work!!! Grrrr
  9. Thanks for that Spabes, I was soooooo excited about my surgery being booked and now I'm wondering what I have done!! you have re-assured me!!! Perfect Ten, hopefully you will feel restriction after your fill, I think I have done sooooo much research on the band I've accepted it may take months before you reach the "sweet spot" and that it's just an aid and not a miricle, finally changed my attitude from wanting it to happen over night to being in this for the long haul, with alot of hard work ahead!!...I just want to be able to get a dress from Coast for my 30th birthday party next March!! lol
  10. Hi, I'm booked in with WGA for September with Mr Sigurdsson, I'm just wondering how the Op went, I realise you are none to pleased with the aftercare etc, but my main worry is the Op, I think I've expected to have no aftercare, but the price was one I could afford, an extra £3000 to go to my local private hospital isn't an option. Thanks Kerri
