Stop having so many damn kids; population control, anyone?
I'm sorry, but what makes you such an expert when you don't have any kids? And by the way, when I hear someone say "I don't even want one kid" that to me is extremism........so it is in the eye of the beholder after all.........

Health Care is not as bad as some may think
Very good point, the problem is that in theory it sounds wonderful! but in reality it wouldn't work propery, it would put a burden on the government and the service will have to therefore be poor.....

No point to you, I obviously replied to you in error and I apologize for that, I wasn't trying to make any point, I was simply stating my opinion and I wasn't directing my comment to you, therefore you do not need to reply to me. Thank you.

Health Care is not as bad as some may think
Yes I was born in Cuba, which in fact it's the country that Michael Moore talks about in his "documentary" movie, claiming that their health care system is better than ours..........big fat lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should know better than him! I also have a close friend who is german that almost died waiting for his surgery in Germany, yes, maybe they did have clean sheets and a/c, but he still had major problems finding the right doctor for his condition and was waiting a very, very long time for his surgery, he ended up coming to America and paying out of pocket in order to save his life....thank God he had the money to do that....

Health Care is not as bad as some may think
What can I say, while GW Bush is not perfect, hey who is anyway? and I may not agree with 100% with the things he has done, or they way he has done them, again, I would say that is normal, we don't have to agree on absolutely every thing, we are not robots, we are human, but overall, I do agree with him and I am a true republican and don't really care that others may not like him....I really don't...

Health Care is not as bad as some may think
While I agree with you that 13million is significant and I do care for these people, I truly do, but what I can tell you based in my own experience having been born and grown up in a country with socialized medicine is that it's much easier said than done, socialized medicine in my opinion was horrible, like I mentioned before, if you need surgery, you need to wait in line, people do die waiting.....my own grandmother was being transfered from one bed to another and the bed sheets were in bad condition and they broke and my grandmother fell on the floor and due to that, she almost died, the hospitals don't have the air conditioner running most of the times to save evergy and it's so extremely hot, patients are sweating, family members as well, they would allow family to bring their own little fans and then they stopped that too, in order to conserve energy....the lack of medications, the quality of the health care and physicians is just not good, this I guarantee you.

Illegal aliens
I'm Cuban as I mentioned before, therefore an immigrant, I came to this country legally and followed all the necessary process and I've been an American Citizen for many years, therefore suffering many of the problems that the Mexican and many other countries have with poverty and some with political prosecution as I did in Cuba, I completely relate with their feelings in so many things, however, we must do it legally........the most important statement you made was the following and I agree with it 150%... "Somebody is going to cross that border with some kind of weapon of mass destruction and set it off in a major American city"

Woo HOO!! Supreme Court upholds Partial Birth Abortion Ban!!!!
Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!

Illegal aliens
Strongly agree and I am an immigrant myself, but definitely went through the process and now it's even more dangerous with the terrorism.........

Health Care is not as bad as some may think
I am in complete agreement with you. I was born and grew up in a country with "free" health care or socialized medicine and it did not work, lack of medications, lack supplies, lack of hospitals, therefore you must way long time for a surgery, you can actually die waiting...........I love our health care system... :clap2:

Observations on Castro and Cuban-Americans
I don't know where to start either, you are so wrongfully informed.... Firstly, there is no rich and poor in Cuba now, there is Castro and his people that are rich and there is the rest of the country, whites, blacks and just everybody else who are ALL poor. SOME, I REPEAT, SOME of the people who fled Cuba after Castro's revolution where the people who benefited from Batista, just SOME, not many, most may have been white, because back then the black population in Cuba was much lower, maybe because racism was popular back then, but not just in Cuba, but all over the world, to blame Batista for that would be just plain stupid. After Castro and as the years went by, cuban population got mixed more and more, like in the rest of the world, again, nothing to do with Batista. Your spaniard friend may have noticed similarities among the casinos, again, poverty was going on all over the world, great depression here and poverty everywhere, blaming Batista for poverty in Cuba is also stupid in my opinion, check who was before him or the financial situation in the world at the time, many factors contributed to poverty in Cuba, Batista could have been one factor, but not 100% responsible, that's for sure. At least, there were rich and poor in Cuba back then, now is "Castro and Poor" that's it! Your friends that found that hospitals, while "VERY" short on "MOST" drugs and supplies (partially if not largely due to the USA's endeavors/IGNORANT AND DEFINITELY NOT TRUE, SINCE CASTRO HAS HAD OTHER MEANS AND ALLIEDS BEFORE THAT COULD HAVE SUPPLIED IT TO HIM), where clean and efficient, tHAT MAKES ME LAUGH! that, if true, was only because they are paying with dollars, but for the cubans that live there, please allow me to laugh again, DID YOU NOT READ MY PREVIOUS E-MAIL? I ALREADY EXPLAINED TO YOU HOW DISGUSTING THEY ARE, NOT EVEN SUITABLE FOR AN ANIMAL, DON'T YOU BELIEVE ME?........ and available to everyone, SURE, UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS, WHY NOT? BUT IS IT FAIR, I MUCH RATHER PAY MY INSURANCE PREMIUM HERE AND OBTAIN BETTER SERVICE. The school systems where also very good. AT WHAT COST, DID YOU NOT READ MY PREVIOUS E-MAIL ? PLEASE READ IT, OR MAYBE YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO BELIEVE IT. A friend of mine who was born in Cuba, but lives in Europe and has gone back and forth many times says that Castro's government has helped the average man. IS THAT SO? AND WHAT IS HE DOING LIVING IN EUROPE? Capitalism can make for rich men and it can also allow many people to be extremely poor. ISN'T THAT BETTER THAN HAVING A VERY SMALL FEW, "CASTRO AND HIS ENTOURAGE" RICH AND RICHAR EVERY DAY AND THE WHOLE COUNTRY DYING OF HUNGER AND NOT BEING ABLE TO OBTAIN THE BARE NECESSITIES? AT LEAST HERE, A LOT MORE THAN JUST A FEW ARE ABLE TO LIVE DECENTLY. You said , "there are no Bill Gates & Warren Buffets" are we jelous and bitter? HEY, IN CUBA, THERE ARE NO BILL GATES, YOU ARE RIGHT, IN CUBA THERE ARE FIDEL CASTRO, RAUL CASTRO AND HIS LARGE ENTOURAGE, AND THOSE DON'T EVEN HAVE THE DECENCY TO MAKE CHARITY DONATIONS AS MR GATES DOES. THOSE ARE GETTING RICHER AND ENJOYING THEM ALL BY THEMSELVES, WHILE THE COUNTRY , AND I MEAN THE WHOLE COUNTRY IS POOR. You said you have been accused of being “shameful, bitter, or hating”, I WONDER WHY? AND STILL YOU ARE ashamed of nothing? IN MY OPINION, YOU SHOULD BE, JUST FOR BEING COMMUNIST AND STILL DECIDE TO STAY IN THIS "CAPITALIST" COUNTRY.L SHAME ON YOU. Obviously you are not proud or ashamed of anything, in my opinion, you just plain and simple have no convictions, you want to be with God and the Devil at the same time, I have no respect for you, that's how I feel and to call yourself a good father, well, only if you didn't raise your children to be like you. There is nothing greater than a man proud of his/her country. as far as you defending your country's ideals, How could you when you hate your country? WHAT I THINK ABOUT YOU IS THAT YOU ARE THE ONE THAT IS RACIST, THIS WAS A DISCUSSION ABOUT CUBAN AFFAIRS, NOT RACISM AND IN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOUR POSTS, YOU BRING UP THE RACE ISSUES CONSTANLY, I DON'T TALK ABOUT RACE, BECAUSE TO ME IS NOT AN ISSUE, I LOVE EVERYONE THE SAME AND DON'T FEEL THE NEED TO BRING RACE ISSUES ALL THE TIME, YOU OBVIOUSLY DO, I FEEL SORRY FOR YOU, IN MY OPINION, YOU ARE A RACIST IN THE CLOSET AND A NASTY COMMUNIST, AND I DON'T PLAN TO KEEP ARGUING WITH YOU, BECAUSE I HAVE REALIZED THAT YOU ARE IGNORANT, STUPID AND RACIST. WHEN YOU BRAG ABOUT SOMETHING TOO MUCH FOR NO REASON, IT'S USUALLY BECAUSE YOU ARE HIDDING SOMETHING, AND YOUR CONSTANT RACIAL COMMENTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES, PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO MY THIS/MY POST, IF YOU WANT TO KEEP ARGUING, SEND YOUR POSTS TO SOMEONE ELSE, YOU ARE NOT WORTH OF MY WASTING ONE MORE SECOND ON YOU. Observations on Castro and Cuban-Americans
Most Definetely, I agree! That's how those cubans in Miami feel and that's what they are talking about, I for one have never gone back to Cuba since 1976 when I left, I could have, illegally , through Canada, or Bahamas, but I refuse to do something illegal in this country that embraced me with opened arms when I needed it the most, I see it as a betrayal to this country, so I chose not to, but some people have family there and haven't seen their relatives in decades and are desparate and I can totally understand that. It's like you said, It's in way to "reclaim" what had been taken from your family. Thank you for your post. Elena, PS: I visited Ireland in March for the firs time, what a beautiful country, I want to go back as soon as I can, absolutely gorgeous! I stayed in Dublin and then drove all the way to the Shanon River. My favorite writer (Frank McCourt/Angela's Ashes) was born in Limerick and I wanted to see his place there.

Observations on Castro and Cuban-Americans
I appreciate your response and I definitely agree with you in some of your views. Tired Old Man has a right to be shameful, bitter, or hating if that is how he feels, because the USA gives him that right. Very good point...and what I suggested for him, to maybe live somewhere else, was just that, a suggestions, he certainly doesn't have to go anywhere, if he was a citizen of Cuba, he then would have to leave or he'd be in prison there, but here, there is freedom of speech, actions, etc. I only suggested it, because, like you said, I did it myself and it feels so much better not having to live in a place that you disagree so much with it's goverment, so I thought it could be a good option for him, but only a suggestion... I know it felt good for me, when I left Cuba, and yes I can absolutely appreciate this country so much, so maybe that way, he could experience the same awesome feeling that I do... Yes. Is it possible that those too young to have experienced Castro and his regime may have a hatred for Castro and the regime because they grew up hearing about the horrors and hate him and his regime because of what it has done to their families. In my personal experience, I lived them myself, I left when I was 14, so unfortunately, I have enough bad memories, I heard plenty of stories too, not only by my family, but friends, neighbors, etc. But mainly, I lived those horros myself........ By the way, I consider you open minded by being independent, and by no means wishy washy, I sometimes have considered being independent myself, I have voted republican so far, but I do admire some democrat leaders and consider myself open minded as well, so I don't know what the future holds or if I'm going to be a republican forever......that's perfectly fine in my opinion......... like I told TiredOldMan previously, I don't believe in bashing our goverment, republicans or democrats, I love this country too much to do that. Do we have the right to bash? of course, I just chose not to.... Thank you so much for your response. Respectully, Elena

Observations on Castro and Cuban-Americans
Again, I second everything "readytogo" said. You definitely have the right to your opinion, thanks to your goverment and to the fact that you live in this country. If you lived in Cuba you couldn't express absolutely nothing... Batista may have not been the right person, but I tell you, by comparison with Castro, he was still much more deserving of help than Castro. Do you really think that our country has terrorized more countries than any other in the world? Maybe you should live somewhere else, what are you still doing here? If I felt that way, I definitely wouldn't live here, that is exactly why I left Cuba, because Castro is a terrorist. I'm really shocked at this statement.... I feel very bad that civilians have to die in Irak , unfortunately that's how much is taking to help them establish a better life for them in the future, sacrifices have to be made sometimes to obtain what you want and need. It happens all over the world and even in our personal lives. It's unfortunate but a fact. A good school system in Cuba...That's exactly why I know that you are extremelly and wrongly informed. I grew up there remember? Since you are 10 years old, they make you go 3 months every year to what looks like concentration camps with no electricity or even the basic human needs, no clean Water, no food, but water, bread and maybe coffee, without the consent of your family to work 10 hours a day doing very hard work and you must do this every year until you graduate, if you don't go, the goverment won't let you stay in school and your family will be harrased in a daily basis and forever and the child will have no right to education, and I'm not going to talk about the brain washing and the lies that they teach the children in school and all the anti-God propaganda and the communist bullcrap. That's how the children and parents pay for school in Cuba, it's not free, it comes at a very high price.... As far as medical system.....I could be writing here for hours, but I don't have the time, however, the hospitals in Cuba have no basic needs either, no A/C, the patients and families are sweating while they are dying, there is no medicines available, sometimes not even aspiring, but they are available to the big shot comunist, while you see your relative dying because they won't give them the medicine that they need, it's ver sad...... the bathrooms are clogged with excrement and urine, no toilet paper, you can't even bring your own fan for your dying relative, because they don't want you to use their electricity, the hospital beds are old, broken, dirty, the sheets tear up, once my grandmother was being transfered from one hospital bed to another and the sheets teared up in half and my grandmother in her 70's an ill ended up on the floor, the doctors and nurses make such a small salary that they don't care for anybody, they are tired and frustrated and don't care to provide good service, and I could go on and on....but you wouldn't understand , you had to be there, you really don't want to land in a hospital in Cubaif you live there, unless you are paying top dollars, then Castro will love you, because he loves the allmighty dollar. Is that the medical system that you long for? or maybe you don't believe me............... So you really think that someone wouldn't mind dying in the ocean because they heard stories about golden paved streets? These people come the US and many of them make a good life for themselves after a while , many of them have relatives and/or friends here and know exactly how we live here, I don't think that they risk their lives for a lying fairy tale, cubans are smarter than that..........they come here because it is practically impossible to survive there, that is the sad but honest truth. I'm sorry that you have nothing to be proud about your country, yes, obviously we disagree, I am very proud of this country, which is my country , for soooo many reasons, and in my opinion, you express yourself in a manner that shows shame for this country, bitterness for this country and hatred for your country. You being 61 and born here in the US proves a lot......Proves that you really don't know what it is to live in Cuba, like "readytogo" said, what cubans experience when they are born under Castro and have lived under Castro can NEVER be completely understood by reading about it or watching documentary, believe me, never... You said that you have no axe to grindeither for or agains Cuba, the exile or Castro...........but you are grinding..........in a very high scale.........you really sound like a communist.....and that's fine if you are, but again, if you feel so much different from our country's ideas and goverment, it would be great if you tried living somewhere else where you may agree more with their goverment........you could always try Cuba, I'm sure Castro would love to have you there.........you may find it a great place to retire.....this is just a suggestion.........or how about Chavez in Venezuela? you do have a couple of options........that way you don't have to stay here under our goverment that you disagree so much with.........I know I would, well, actually, I know I did.......... Best wishes,

Observations on Castro and Cuban-Americans
maybe so, but I'm happy that they didn't dosey up to Castro, hey at least one down, that's a victory
