  1. congrats this is so exciting. The one thing i do know is you should make sure your OBGYN has experience with bariatric patients and pregnancy bec you do have very special needs as does your baby. So get a DR who understands the special needs of being pregnant after surgery. I am so happy for you.
  2. yeah my Drs said Forever and ever and ever.... and ever. For real or you could get really sick. Same with Vitamins
  3. well its amazing to see you are already down 23lbs and you Just had surgery. Did you lose all of that in a single week? Thats an encouraging sign...
  4. Ill have to let you know. I am only one month out so I cant really tell yet but tons of women prevent stretch marks or reduce them with body butters made of those ingredients so those cant hurt... the rest Ill know as ai lose more weight. my first month I have lost 15lbs...
  5. This is so interesting why do you think you burn less now? My watch is the same and I fond that part sooo odd? As a nurse do you know why that true? Also i noticed my resting metabolic rate is lower... Why? So bizarre
  6. Thank you so much for these words they are so helpful and a greta reminder... I just have little windows of energy and then BAM i need a nap. I just want my energy back so badly but i have to take it slowly and its good to know this is normal. How was the rest of your journey once you did start woking out?
  7. Sweetdrops are awesome and i also love the Devotion Brand- amazing flavors and not sickly sweet.
  8. I am taking collagen and i have read that drinking a TON of water (80 or more ounces) helps tighten the skin too. Also I dry skin brush and slather my skin in homemade body butter made of cocoa butter coconut oil Shea butter vitamin e and wheat germ oil... - i heave read that keeping the skin moisturized helps it snap back and it works for a lot of pregnant women. at the very least you'll have soft skin.
  9. Reading this has honestly lifted such a weight off of my shoulders because THIS WAS ME forever. I eat right avoid carbs, exercise , rarely go over 1000 cals a day _ pre op_ and I would never lose weight. Maybe the first week on a new diet Id drop 10 lbs and then NADA. At one point I worked out three hours a day and ate 900 cals a day and even after weeks I still would not lose weight and Drs and folks assume Im just pigging out on three pizzas and a gallon a soda a night. All I ever drank was water or coffee. I even went down to OMAD and I think because it affected my insulin levels it allowed me to lose 18lbs but then again- Stall no matter what I did. I have hypothyroidism, PCOS and endometriosis which means I also have too much estrogen and i always had this sense that that is why I never lost weight when i barely eat. I can relate to this thread so much and it is giving me hope that this surgery is going to work for me because going through all of this for it not to is beyond anything I can bear... I wish Drs would research more how hormones and PCOS and weight gain and inability to lose weight are all interrelated. Here is wishing us all luck that this works for us.
  10. Thank you for the feedback. I want to exercise sooo badly but I cant and that makes me feel in an odd wa like failure. Plus Im losing so slowly so I am hoping exercise will help move it along when i can actually do it. But it helps to know I am not alone. I was thinking 3 weeks was more than enough time.
  11. I too am behind on my period and would love to know if thats normal? Anyone else have endometriosis as well as the sleeve. I have heard the sleeve has helped people with Endo.
  12. My op was 3 weeks ago and although I have zero pain I get exhausted so quickly. I will need to rest after cleaning or doing laundry... When did everyone feel fully back to normal energy-wise and when did you start going to the gym? Id love to go but I just an not physically up to it yet. Is this normal?
  13. You look amazing and you lost so quickly!! Do you mind sharing- Did you workout a lot? how much? How much protein did you get in and water usually and how may calories did you stick to for the duration? Did you do anything special or take anything that you felt helped keep your skin tighter because you arms have no flab! I aspire to look as amazing as you do.
  14. It really bad how Drs dont listen to patients and basically at times i feel like I know more than the Drs I see. Always fight to be heard and you know your body. Dont let them Poo poo your intuition and pain and just shrug it off. Its shouldn't be a battle but it often is and the squeaky wheel get the grease. I hope you feel better soon.
  15. thank you for the encouraging words and support. It helps so much... this whole process feels like a sea and at times very alone not knowing what to expect or what will happen.
  16. thanks for the input - it helps. Ill stay on it for sure. I also asked my DR but i was curious about what other folks were doing and if its something EVERYONE is put on no matter what.
  17. Are you starting to feel a bit better? Hang in there.
  18. 30 is AMAZING. Ive only lost 13. I wish I had lost 30... Congrats.
  19. This is so upsetting to see. I had surgery on Sept 4th (no pre op diet) required except for all liquids the day before and I have only lost 13lbs. I cant for the life of me figure out what is wrong with me. I get in 80oz- a gallon of water a day. And i always get my protein in between 65- even 100 a couple of days and my calories are in the 600 ish range. Of the 13 lbs, 10 i lost the first week and then since then just 1.5 a week! Im afraid that I went through all of this for it not t work... I could use some serious advice and calming words because I am desperately freaking out.
  20. My Dr gave me a RX for omeprazole right after surgery and told me to take it for 6 months. My surgery was on Sept 4th. so three weeks ago. I have to be honest i am nervous since Zantac was recalled and also i have read that the side effects of Omeprazole is weight gain. In the three weeks since my surgery I have only lost 13lbs. I have between 65-100 Protein, around 600 calories or less and drink between 80 oz to a gallon of water a day so i cant for the life of me figure out why i am not losing more weight. I wasn't given a pre op diet. I just have to do liquids the day prior to surgery. I am desperate for advice or insight because I am sort of freaking out. Could the medication be preventing my weightless?
