Lol I've been claiming it since I was a teenager but now near 60 finally know it's true, made my day. I've also been using it for my kids too, the are not overweight but the scale #s have always been higher than they appeared. My girls are 5'8" and my boys are 6'4" and 6'5" I am thrilled with the validation

    https://www.livestrong.com/article/219938-how-to-know-your-body-frame/
Body frame actually does come into your ideal weight as explained here.
For instance I have a good mate who is actually 3 inches taller than me but his frame is so small that he weighs around 160lbs
I know for a fact I would never get near that nor do I want to.
Everyone comments on my build all my family have broad shoulders and even my sister's are 5ft8 and 5ft10 my 17yr old niece is 5ft11 and all around 150lbs.
my uncle is 6ft5 so it is true different genetics can determine your frame and build.
Another family I'm close with every child they have girls are all 5ft-5ft4 and 100-120lbs.
The lightest I've ever been in my adult hood was I think 195-200 and I felt great yet others thought I was unwell.
I'm currently 215 and I plan to get below 200 whether I end up at 180 or 190 I guess I'll find out even though BMI scale alone says that's still considered overweight which is outrageous.

I just wanna be "Overweight" and no longer obese. At least now I'm no longer "Morbidly Obese." Those charts are often extreme.

Have you tried it peeled and the English kind wrapped in celophane? It's the "burpless" kind with few seeds? You can maybe try it again in a month or so!! ((hugs)) Cucs are a staple for me! I use them to replace crackers!

I've always said BMI scale is very vague; doesn't account for genes. Bone structure. Build.
I'm 6ft0 and I'll be happy to get to 185-195lbs but on the bmi scale that is 25-26 and overweight which is ridiculous...
I don't ever plan on being below 180. I got to about 195 in 2012. And people thought I was sick unwell...

I'm going to be happy to get to overweight status. Anything under 210 on my frame will make me look like a cancer patient. BMI is crap and I've said that for a long time.

Yes I’m designated driver too. I usually order from app menu or just side dish if it has Protein. Many times everyone pays for me to offset gas- don’t mean bodily gas as that is discussed a lot from Bariatric family!

@Bastian I'm 3 months(August 27th) out & only can get in between 350-500 calories a day. I can barely complete a meal & it still takes me 30-40 minutes to eat a 5.3oz yogurt. My dietitian told me that this calorie amount is fine but try to get in as much Protein dense foods as possible & keep my liquid intake close to or at 64 ozs. When I get full - STOP EATING! She said this is the crucial stage for my new pouch & over eating is not good therefore trying to get in 800-900 calories is not the goal she wants for me right now. So I am listening to my body, eating high quality protein meals and getting in the Water.< a class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image" href="/monthly_2019_12/20191211_090713.jpg.1790c94141916669d23315d38bc25cde.jpg" data-fileid="97296" rel=""> Start Weight(SW) - 215 Surgery Weight(SW) - 198 Current Weight(CW) - 165 Goal Weight(GW) - 145

That's definitely normal. Usually one time doing it is enough of a motivation to not "binge" again for a while. You learned your lesson, and you know not to do it again because it hurts!

I bet you felt gross and it'll really put you off pushing the limits again Don't be mean to yourself, tomorrow is a new day and you can do it right, one meal at a time!

Hi all! August 27th post sleeve here. I love reading everyone’s updates and can relate to many of the successes and challenges. I have lost about 50 lbs since surgery and my BMI has dropped from 36 to 28. Even better, I exercise consistently and feel strong and more energetic! The reason I decided to post today is because I slipped up for the first time and ate more than I should have in a sitting. I paid for it by getting sick and vomiting almost immediately. I am pretty disappointed in myself, but trying to get past it and move forward. I still have so many goals, I need to stay on track!

I never made two meals. My husband and I would eat the same thing - only he'd eat a lot more of it, and in addition I'd give him some kind of starch like potatoes, rice, or Pasta.

There is transient depression as we heal. For no reason, you might wake up depressed, or have it descend upon you.
It's important to know it's temporary and has a physical derivation caused by fluctuating hormones released from your fat as you lose weight, or as a result of anesthesia and having someone inside you messing with your guts. (Your guts produce neurohormones that regulate mood.)
Hang in there. Deep breathe, drink LOTS of Water, do comedy therapy on Netflix, walk a LOT, get outside into sunshine and nature, hug someone hard for a long time! Smile to your reflection in the mirror, get enough sleep, eat your Protein and veg and all will be well in your world soon.

^^^^^This is truly profound. It IS a multi-factoral disease recognized by the AMA and ASMBS (sp? chemo brain catching me) and insurance board. Most bariatricians and bariatric surgeons readily admit (when asked) that this is a disease (obesity) and once MO and some say overweight not even obese, you will battle it for your entire life or suffer regain.
So it's a case for us of being in a state of NED (like with my Stage 3C BC). I can never say I was cured. This surgery does not offer a cure. It offers a brief 3-5 year window to reset your body's metabolic thermostat to defend a lower set point. But the body is smart and wants to get back to the state it knows. Some studies show that the microvilli increase post RNY and DS to ease the malabsorption and take in more nutrients. All studies show as we heal, we are able to eat more and more and more volume to the point of 5 years out most of us will be eating at our pre-surgery volumes (or just about).
That's why Dr. Weiner says that we should never buy into the myth of restriction and malabsorption. It's why we MUST learn new skills and behaviors with food and use the time to develop new food preferences and new gut biomes that crave more good foods than bad.
So at best we are in Remission or NED (no evidence of disease). And the longer we can trick our body into staying in that state, the more chance we have of long term success. It's like pulling weeds. Pulling a couple of weeds each week? Meh. Totes doable. Weeding a 1 acre garden? Total bull crap! LOL. It will take huge effort!

Sometimes weight loss is slowed due to not being able to eat or get enough fluids. Your body can go into starvation mode and try to save the weight. It’s normal. Once you start getting in proper nutrition and fluids weight loss will pick back up. Good luck hun!!
