I think for the most part, the diet we follow post-surgery (whether sleeve or bypass) is what is known as protein-prioritized Keto (there's a FB group if you are interested). Keep Protein high, fats low to moderate, and carbs low. In fact, I really don't understand the (traditional keto) focus on high fat since the reason most people lose weight is because of low carbs. And of course protein is better for you than fat. That said, some people may be more sensitive to fatty foods after bypass (I just had a bypass revision myself and this is something I'm concerned about). I would talk to your doctor/nutritionist to see what they think.

My daughter's school had an exposure to COVID-19/Coronavirus in MA this week, so we were asked to self-quarantine/distance.
I work from home and Boston's schools are out probably until April 27, so I'm guessing we're pretty much locked down in this little city apartment for the duration. My estimate is within the next week the whole country will be in this boat.
While we're still able to get out for walks (maintaining social distancing) I did cancel my rowing classes in order not to be patient zero. (And, frankly, to avoid exposure.)
I was able to lay in supplies of most of the things I currently eat on my plan, but I am definitely finding myself at the top end of my available calories every day. I'm not sure if it's stress eating, or being less busy, or what. And of course, I'll have to be leaning in more on non-perishables as this continues, so that may be worse.
I know diabetes and obesity are both complicating factors for outcomes if infected, as well as some other pre-existing conditions that often accompany high weight. I don't suffer from those, but I'm wondering if those who do are concerned.
How are you all coping with staying on plan, keeping active, and keeping stress low during this challenge?

Best money spent ever...... FoodSaver. When my husband is home he/we cook and there is always leftovers. I portion out my lunch for every day. This machine is a lifesaver. If you don't have one... GET ONE!!!! Also, buy the small paper plates (6"). Portion out on the plate and vacuum seal it. label it and and put a date. I either keep in the fridge or freezer. When we dine out, i take my leftovers home and do the same. If i have left over Soup, i just seal it in the bag.
The next day or a week later or longer... (last forever it seems). I put one meal in my lunch bag and poop it in the microwave with a small slit.... done.

Well after being denied and appealing the surgery and waiting 7 weeks for a surgery date which is 3/18, I believe they are canceling my revision due to the virus. Because it’s elective.
I hope I’m wrong. I am in so much pain from the heartburn. I’ve been on a liquid diet for 2 weeks.
    I’m so upset.

I agree that the lack of weight loss is most likely the 3 week stall. Also, you will feel like crap while you are healing. You are doing everything right. Just give your body time to heal, rest when you need to!

the lack of weight loss the last few days could be the infamous "three week stall". I had mine during weeks 2 and 3. The weight loss should start up again in a week or two...just stick to your plan.

Putting the Telogen Effluvium Hair loss research I used in a thread for the interested.
Started researching this after a visit to my dermatologist confirmed, Biotin and minoxidil would not help much.
I believe I started taking LLysine as soon as I was allowed to swallow pills post op. I experienced very very minimal hair loss (slight thinning of edges) My hair is back to normal now 1yr post op
(Noteworthy info: I practiced low manipulation of my hair for months (ballerina bun), my Iron ferritin and other Vitamins and minerals were perfect during this time because I received iv infusions and oral supplementation, Protein was around 45g daily when I started and worked up to 60g daily)
I would suggest consulting your teams, doing your own research, spending the least, understanding that genetics and environmental factors will also play a role despite best efforts, and getting an amazing silk/satin scarf or pillow case to protect what you have.

    Safe Journey!
