Waking up from surgery was the worst pain I have ever experienced and I had natural child birth! I know the hospital did a poor job of pain management and many other things for my stay. My pain threshold is very high but when they do a poor job of managing the pain from the onset, it becomes very difficult to ever get in front of it. I didn't have much relief until day 3.

Hi! I have been buying clearance items at Old Navy as I go down in sizes to avoid spending too much on clothes until I reach my goal. For work type clothes, I also check clearance at other store, like Marshals and TJ Maxx.

DrButterfly got a reaction from Deedee12 in Do you have BMI 36 or below and had surgery??
When I first discussed the surgery with my PCP, I was struggling to stay around 34 BMI. By the time I had my surgery I was up to 37. I have PCOS and have been struggling with my weigh for about 15 years. My weight went up and down 35 pounds throughout the years. I had my surgery on June 11th and am currently 2 1/2 months post op. I have lost about 40 pounds. This surgery has helped so much and I am looking forward to getting the rest of the weight off. It isn't an easy road, we all have challenges with adjusting to the new way of eating... new way of living BUT it is well worth it in my opinion.
Good luck with whatever you choose!

I stop before I feel full because the sensation of full is different now and I don't want to stretch out my pouch. Here is my Portion Control guidelines. Hope this helps 😊

When me and my nutritionist were going over my guidelines after the liquid phase she brought out the 1/3 cup and said I shouldn't eat more than that. I gotta tell you I was shocked because it seemed so minuscule compared to what I used to eat. So I told her it seems like I could eat more! She pointed to her head with her finger and said that's all in your head. Eating more than that is giving into head hunger. And she was right my mind will still tell me that's not enough when I visually see it but when I eat I'm constantly waiting for the cues of being satisfied/full and stop eating immediately when they come. It's usually before I've eatin the whole 1/3 C.

After several attempts at making the crust myself, I bought some of these which are fantastic. Crisp up really nicely on my baking stone.
You can look at their website to find a store near you or you can order from their website. They also make smaller sandwich thins one that I also like. Clean ingredients and no flour, minimal carbs if that matters to you.

Ok, I admit I'm a slow adopter. LOL. So many of you probably already have been making this for centuries. Most of you know how much I still my decaff Protein lattes--17 months out. I still love the mornings when I'm not fasting and get to put a juuuge in mah morning or afternoon cuppa. Nirvana!
BUT! Lately, I've been jamming on two different decaff coffee variations! They are "non-recipes". Not a great deal of measuring...unless you want to track your cocoa.
Decaff With Cinnamon - Just sprinkle a bit of ground cinnamon in the bottom of your cup and fill with hot decaff coffee. Nothing else. No sweetener. No Creamer or Protein Drink. Just pure cinnamon and decaff. So refreshing. Plus the ground cinnamon may make you lower your blood glucose! Score!
Mocha Cafe With Cinnamon - Put 5g of extra dark cocoa powder in the bottom of mug + ground cinnamon + decaff coffee. Stir as you add the super hot (coffee needs to be super hot to incorporate the cocoa) coffee. Enjoy. Cocoa is filled with anti-oxidants and polyphenols that offer great nutritional bang for your buck and makes your gut and brain happy happy!

What are some of your easy peasy non-recipes/tips of things that get your through the day without adding a crap ton of calories or leading yourself astray from cravings?

Just had my 2 week check up yesterday and down 18 pounds. After not losing an ounce during the preop diet... I was thrilled. Today I am trying oatmeal with a bit of cinnamon.

I had the inability to focus right after surgery and I took the patch off from behind my ear and a day later, my vision came back. Honestly, I am 2 1/2 weeks out and I have moments of regret. I think it is just a huge step and it is scary enough besides the pain and lack of eating. It has been getting better. I believe others that say in the long run I will be happy with this decision. Hang in there!
