    Collagen

There are different kinds of collagen. You have to see which ones are in the powder or supplement for which concern. Some kinds are better for skin and hair, others for joint issues. Overall, I think some people say to stay away because it can be hard on your stomach and it isn't considered a protein for us. As a supplement, as long as you can handle it and it addresses your concerns, I would think it is ok. I am taking it for the skin/aging issues. I feel since I have lost the weight from surgery, I notice more signs of aging.
  2. Sugar is a little high but they are really good! I love the vanilla and chocolate. I think there is a coffee one as well. I wish they would make strawberry.

    Coconut Milk

I miss coconut milk but as others stated, no protein value... if you want to increase the protein but not use cow's milk, you can use pea protein milk instead. I get the unsweetened vanilla and use it for my shake base.
  4. When I first discussed the surgery with my PCP, I was struggling to stay around 34 BMI. By the time I had my surgery I was up to 37. I have PCOS and have been struggling with my weigh for about 15 years. My weight went up and down 35 pounds throughout the years. I had my surgery on June 11th and am currently 2 1/2 months post op. I have lost about 40 pounds. This surgery has helped so much and I am looking forward to getting the rest of the weight off. It isn't an easy road, we all have challenges with adjusting to the new way of eating... new way of living BUT it is well worth it in my opinion. Good luck with whatever you choose!

    Clothing Rollercoaster

Hi! I have been buying clearance items at Old Navy as I go down in sizes to avoid spending too much on clothes until I reach my goal. For work type clothes, I also check clearance at other store, like Marshals and TJ Maxx.

    Floridians

Hi! I am also in south FL and had my surgery with Dr. Shillingford on June 11, 2019. He seems pretty popular around here! LOL

    7 Pounds from Goal......

    That’s awesome! Congrats!
  8. Waking up from surgery was the worst pain I have ever experienced and I had natural child birth! I know the hospital did a poor job of pain management and many other things for my stay. My pain threshold is very high but when they do a poor job of managing the pain from the onset, it becomes very difficult to ever get in front of it. I didn't have much relief until day 3.

    I'm so scared!

I had the inability to focus right after surgery and I took the patch off from behind my ear and a day later, my vision came back. Honestly, I am 2 1/2 weeks out and I have moments of regret. I think it is just a huge step and it is scary enough besides the pain and lack of eating. It has been getting better. I believe others that say in the long run I will be happy with this decision. Hang in there!

    2 week post surgery

Just had my 2 week check up yesterday and down 18 pounds. After not losing an ounce during the preop diet... I was thrilled. Today I am trying oatmeal with a bit of cinnamon.
  11. Hi everyone! I had my sleeve completed on 6/11 and once I was released home they advised I should start trying to get protein shakes down. I have tried multiple brands and flavors and they all make me nauseous. Will this pass? Any ideas of alternate ways until I can actually eat protein? I have tried Premier (4 different flavors), Fairlife, Garden of Life, and Ripple. Also tried Premier clear protein (3 flavors) and Protein2O water.
  12. Unfortunately, I am not allowed solid food until I see the doctor on Wednesday. I will check these brands out. Thanks for the suggestions! The liquid phase for two weeks is not working for me but I am glad it is almost over!
