Robert S. Libberton got a reaction from Arabesque in Surgery more than 2 years ago?
    Good morning,
Started 291 current weight 216.6 Goal 200, recently moved and need to exercise more with home-prepared meals, move into a townhouse in 2 weeks then I expect to shed off the additional weight.
Did you hit your goal? Nope initially set a 185 lb goal but I am happy with 200., I am 5'9" and shaped like a triangle (chicken legs :))
Did you stall at any point and what did you do to get past it? yes, I stalled at 240 for a year and frankly, Ozempic helped a lot. I am a Type 2 and was put on it to get my A1C in control, side benefits are a metric crapton of weight loss 40 lbs at the best because it makes me slightly nauseous and kills my hunger response.
Gain any weight back? I waffle between 200-205 normally but recently spiked up to 220 after moving and eating out all the time.
Loose skin? yes but luckily as a fella, it's not as bad for me and my wife is super supportive of the minor apron at 200.
Improvements in comorbidities like diabetes or sleep apnea? I am a diabetic and the Type 2 (a1c) is now the normal range (under 5.7), off metformin and still take Ozempic (by choice). I was sleep apneic and not only my beautiful wife snores. It is cute :). I sounded like I was dry Water drowning and she had to put up with that for years prior to the CPAP then the hum of the machine...
Regrets? Only when I eat at great restaurants and telling my coworkers when they notice I do not eat very much. Complications? None really, Tips? Try Ozempic first!!
Outside of carbonated beverages anything you can't eat or tolerate now? I can drink carbonated beverages but learned that it can be really uncomfortable if I have gas.
What's life like for you now? Wonderful, I wear business formal (suits) to work and I am back to tailoring the suits and the dad diaper (huge pants looking like an adult with a diaper in my slacks) has disappeared. My waist went from 46 to 32, a huge change.

You’re right this is not the forum for me. I sought out help not “incite anger”. Your pals attacked me for reaching out. I’m defending myself . You and your misunderstanding high and mighty ass can suck it. Go on with your little group of haters and don’t bother trying to “help” anyone else.
  4. Thanks

I think you are getting upset at people for just sharing and trying to help you out. Ultimately it is your body and your life. I was mandatory therapy by my surgeon before I had it so if you have a good Dr he/she should have you do that preop anyway. If not I would ask them for a referral or seek another Dr. You need a therapist who understands eating disorders and WLS. I hope the best for you! But be patient with people on here and don’t ask for advice and get angry at us. A lot of people have struggled with weight their entire life - I never did until 2018 when I was in an accident and after a few surgeries and a week in the hospital I was on a year of steroids. I went from 135 to 245 in a year and fought to get it down to 227 before I chose WLS. I’ve lost 30 pounds and am happy with that but frustrated I couldn’t do it myself. So when someone starts off at 300+ and sees you have a BMI under 30 it is frustrating to see you feel you need the surgery rather than do it on your own. I started with 35 BMI today my BMI is 31 - today after surgery on 12/22/2021 and 30 pound weight loss, you are lower than me - see my point? For the most part I feel people on here are very kind but also speak the truth 99% of the time. Again it’s your life and your body but don’t get so angry with all of us trying to help you. Good luck I’m leaving this post. It’s becoming a bit toxic for me I do wish you the best in whatever you choose

Yes, you are a bit off in logic, if you can manage without surgery you should! This procedure will be painful and take time to recover, people eat through it all the time and sabotage their procedure (my point is it is no fix in reality). I appreciate the procedure and I try to eat every day for the new me and not to recover the old me.

Yes you are nuts!! You asked I gave you an honest answer. Why on earth would you try to keep your bmi above 30 just so you can have an unnecessary surgery with your low bmi. Bloody hell woman surgery is not easy or a quick fix, it's hard and some days just plain horrible. Go see a shrink about your weight/ eating issues. I doubt any surgeon would do you with such a low BMI anyway and if they do I would expect they are very dodgy
