Surgery more than 2 years ago?

Good morning, Started 291 current weight 216.6 Goal 200, recently moved and need to exercise more with home-prepared meals, move into a townhouse in 2 weeks then I expect to shed off the additional weight. Did you hit your goal? Nope initially set a 185 lb goal but I am happy with 200., I am 5'9" and shaped like a triangle (chicken legs :)) Did you stall at any point and what did you do to get past it? yes, I stalled at 240 for a year and frankly, Ozempic helped a lot. I am a Type 2 and was put on it to get my A1C in control, side benefits are a metric crapton of weight loss 40 lbs at the best because it makes me slightly nauseous and kills my hunger response. Gain any weight back? I waffle between 200-205 normally but recently spiked up to 220 after moving and eating out all the time. Loose skin? yes but luckily as a fella, it's not as bad for me and my wife is super supportive of the minor apron at 200. Improvements in comorbidities like diabetes or sleep apnea? I am a diabetic and the Type 2 (a1c) is now the normal range (under 5.7), off metformin and still take Ozempic (by choice). I was sleep apneic and not only my beautiful wife snores. It is cute :). I sounded like I was dry water drowning and she had to put up with that for years prior to the CPAP then the hum of the machine... Regrets? Only when I eat at great restaurants and telling my coworkers when they notice I do not eat very much. Complications? None really, Tips? Try Ozempic first!! Outside of carbonated beverages anything you can't eat or tolerate now? I can drink carbonated beverages but learned that it can be really uncomfortable if I have gas. What's life like for you now? Wonderful, I wear business formal (suits) to work and I am back to tailoring the suits and the dad diaper (huge pants looking like an adult with a diaper in my slacks) has disappeared. My waist went from 46 to 32, a huge change.

    Low BMI pre op question

Yes, you are a bit off in logic, if you can manage without surgery you should! This procedure will be painful and take time to recover, people eat through it all the time and sabotage their procedure (my point is it is no fix in reality). I appreciate the procedure and I try to eat every day for the new me and not to recover the old me.

    June 2019 sleevers

Update, my stomach is healed, I yin and Yang with diet and diabetes. I am on the upside my weight is 223 from 289 and I hope my 240 stall is finally over. Ozempic helped manage my A1c a lot and had a neat side effects of feeling nausea which helps me control hunger and has helped my weight loss. I am hopeful to hit the 219-210 in the new year and will need to start buying clothes to offset my weight loss, I want to follow a minimalist perspective moving forward. I begin p90x again in Jan to tone up and keep the losses coming. I got a small dog and walking him 3 x a day has been super helpful!

    This surgery is bullshit...

Delay the survey fix the marriage or not prior to another life change, it takes 2 to tango and your own part is ignored in your post.

    This surgery is bullshit...

Usually the psych would screen out patients with this perspective

    I... Have... Made... Poo!

OMG, I am still getting used to the new bodily changes but I last pooped 5 days ago at the procedure. I was getting anxious and thinking that maybe, just maybe you don't make poop if all you drink is water... Wrong. I just wanted to share my joy at a return to some normalcy. I have been on stool softeners twice a day since the surgery to make sure I did not get constipated, I will relax down to 1 when I am on a routine without constipation. Any advice on keeping regular?

question for everyone who had gastric sleeve

no judgment implied, but has she sought the help of a licensed mental health professional? This may be helpful for her in normalizing to her new normal.

    6/5 sleeve experience

I wanted to check in and post my experience. I was miserable during the pre-op phase diet, I cheated with last meals almost once a day until the 3 day water fast which I adhered to. The last 3 days were honestly not that bad, just uncomfortable because of being hungry. My angelic wife was supportive and did the pre-op diet with me :). The surgical procedure was fast, I struggled with some moderate pain, gas pain from the CO2 belly inflate. I am anti narcotic and needed it for a long drive home (9 hrs), I don’t recommend that! That said I used the oxy suspension to sleep for the first 2 days and it will be in the trash this week. I am type 2 diabetic, I lost 2 meds post surgery and now I am only on metformin, Prilosec, vitamins and Prozac. The after surgical effects are what you would expect: needed some time to pee normally, it took some days to pass gas but now it’s flowing better (taking a stool softener), hurts to sit up and lay flat, driving is a chore, mild stomach cramping, and skin pain at the 4 surgical sites (mainly the 15cm one). I have met the water goals post surgery and pushed it once and almost puked. I don’t recommend that, I am tolerating broth, clear protein drinks, sugar free jello we’ll just struggling with my behavioral issues to want to eat crap food. I do not feel hungry most of the time, unless food commercials are on TV or I walk in a store. I have lost a tremendous amount of weight so far (around 12 lbs so far), and suspect I will be in the 230’s tomorrow. I exercised prior to the surgery by doing P90X to build as mush muscle as I could. I think that helped a lot. I have been walking a lot also and try to get up each hour to walk around the house. My recovery has been very fast, each day it seems like it’s 50% better, I can sleep on my side now with a bit of left shoulder pain that’s is getting better. I watched my wife eat last night, and I was surprised that it did not bother me. Here are some neat things I think about: I will be a normal weight again (185), it will be nice to fly in a small seat, maybe I can get off all my meds, I will not be pre-judged in job situations for being morbidly obese, I might live as long as my wife to enjoy our life together, no 3 xl clothes, hopefully my chronic back pain will lessen.
