  1. hi everyone i am 9 1/2 weeks pregnant and were really excited about it, my only fear is that my doc completely unfilled me and i'm starving all the time! i knew i needed a slight unfill as i could hardly get anything down since 5 weeks, i just dont want to blow up like i did with my other 2 pregnancies as i know how easy it is to do that! anyone have this happen but manage to cope alright? any advice would be appreciated

    UK lady checking in

hi girls i am from uk, hampshire. i was banded last june and i went through all the emotions to andpaying privately is a huge guilt trip when a family needs so many other things all the time!. but looking back it was the right decision as i am happier and healthier, i enjoy my family more etc, so its fine to feel all that stuff and think it through its a big step, but one well worth taking. goodluck.

    hair loss

hi i was wondering if anyone else has suffered from this and found good solution, i was banded in june and over the last 3 weeks have started to lose loads of hair, i keep finding it everywhere! its starting to freak me out, so i'm going to make a concious effort to get the protein in and have started taking omega 3,6,9 (and daily multivitamins i've taken since op) i know up until a week ago my protein levels had dropped, but i can't handle protein shakes and now my stomach turns at the bars, any thoughts or ideas would be gratefully recieved:blush:

    I lost 51 Pounds

i was banded june the 23rd and have lost 35lbs i thought it would be more by now, but i feel so much better i can wear nicer clothes, feel more confident and if i hadnt had the band i could be so much heavier than i was on day of operation, so i look at it as a life long process as long as i lose slowly feel happy and healthy thats good enough for me x

Has anyone flown witht he band?

i flew the day after my first fill so don't know if that affected the restriction as i was only getting used to it, but my surgeon said it has no affect on the band:smile2:

    Nausea after 4th fill

hi i had my 2nd fill on monday and it was fine, although for my first fill i think i was more nervous than when i went in for the surgery! i dont know why, i suppose a mixture of bits i had read here and fear of unknown, it did take me a week or so to adjust to the band fill and lost 8lbs in the process (i was too scared after a stuck episode plus on holiday and didnt want anything embaressing happening!) this time much easier do have restriction, but i also get that sicky feeling, last time i did pregnancy test because i was so concerned! but it also happened this time and lasts a couple of days with me, so dont worry it all sounds normal to me:smile2:

    Plateau

dont worry guys youre doing great i was banded in june and have only lost 16lbs now thats frustrating!!! the dietician says i'm doing it all right and that i'm just a slow loser it does get me down but at least its off where as i might of put on another 16lbs if i hadnt had the surgery xxx

    HELP!!! Im not losing...

hi i also have pcos and was banded on the 23rd of june, sounds like i am in exactly the same situation as you, definatley eating less i have been on fluoxetine for depression for a few years and was starting to feel really low about lack of weight lost. i actually went to the doctor last week and have gone back on metformin which i stopped taking a couple of years ago. and have lost 2lbs this week which has made me feel better but i havent had a fill yet. i think it is going to be a longer, slower process for us my mum and dad also paid for me, and my mum is very supportive saying at least a pound off is better than a pound on!
  12. i am so frustrated:angry: i was banded 23rd of june and have lost 5lbs!!! not great. yesterday went for pre fill appointment and had to really convince them to let me have it done, so they arranged it for next monday i was pleased as i felt that horrible dark cloud of confusion has been lingering over me. anyway got a call from the clinic today to ask when my period is due? as they can only do a fill within the first 10 days:confused:, i have pcos and explained i have no idea when my next period is as sometimes it can be 8/9 weeks inbetween which would be 10-12 weeks post op until my first fill!! the guy who does the fills only does them on a monday pm and if he is fully booked when i'm next "on" i have to wait for the next period???? i feal really let down they didnt tell me any of this before i just want to get on with my life with the band and am in limbo as 'm not losing. sorry guy's just had to vent it out:sad:, hope you guys are all getting on well xxx

    OK whats wrong with me??

hi i have the same problem i was banded the 23rd of june and have lost 5 or 6 lbs depending on the day i was so concerned i phoned my surgeons office and spoke to the nurse/dietician, she said this was absolutly normal and some people dont lose anything or may even gain slightly before their first fill! i am excersising to and eating less and slower, so i guess we just have to take their word for it and hang in there xxx

    E is Everything Good

hi i'm claire, i also have two children 6 & 3 and have struggled with my weight since i turned 18 (now 30), they found i had pcos which doesnt help, i also excercise and have been dieting ever since! infact i have dieted my self from 10st up to 15st which never made any sense to me! i finally plucked up the courage and asked my husband and parents to help me fund the surgery and as they know how low i get over my weight they agreed (husband not quite so easy, just concerned i suppose) i was banded on the 23 of june 10 days ago, i havent lost much as yet due to swelling but feel so positive that i have done the right thing and cant wait to move forward with my life. so i know how you feel and its down to you to make the decision, but i'd say go for it ( if youre like me you probably dread the next 10 years feeling trapped in a body you dont deserve, and now i know i dont have to yipee!!!) :Banane30:
  19. hi sheila i was banded on the 23rd as well! (still on yogurt/pureed food) i had a horrible time on saturday while making my kiddies dinner i ate some cucumber with out thinking about it as i swallowed it it dawned on me what i had done, i discovered what sliming was and the chest pain was terrible, but it taught me that i used to eat without thinking and that i will have to chew alot. i saw my doctor today and he laughed when i told him, he thought it was funny i was feally the guilt over a piece of cucumber and not a donut!!!!. never again will i swallow my food without chewing properly i've learnt my lesson!

    Feeling Nervous

it sounds really silly but i think one of the biggest mountains for me to climb will be no more pepsi max! i have so much every day i am a total addict and have tried to stop drinking it so many times! as of tomorow night i will never touch the stuff again, its a bit all or nothing with me i can never been able to cut down on things (i wonder if my stomach will deflate with out all that carbonation in it) :0)
