Eating after wls
My surgery was on the 17th and I just started purée yesterday but was sick after trying a meal, today, think I made it to try or something. It does feel scary to me trying a new stage so I understand it

Day 12 post op,for me and started purée but finding drinking enough fluid is very hard. Night here and I think I’m around the 40oz mark fluid wise and really need it to be better ...it is easier than it was but still hurts drinking

Are you able to eat anything or liquids only? I’m thankful I can have some lean protein and starch free veggies to help give variety but it’s still hard going ..l anything helping your nerves?

Palpitations
i ended up in hospital the other day with a crazy high heart rate and dehydration one week into pre-op ... checking with your dr and adding the electrolytes is a good idea to see if that helps you

Meds After Surgery
hi, i looked it up and it looks like you can get it as an oral suspension? meaning crushed and in a carrier liquid ... can you ask and see if you can get that done? you said they thought you could crush but you weren't sure? i've had my betablocker made into a liquid for the first month post surgery after seeing all the comments about trouble swallowing; and been told i can crush my bp med (like you one of mine is for controlling heart rate) i went through a run around initially being told mine couldn't be crushed; then that it was disolvable (it sure wasn't), then that it was available as a liquid, then wasn't etc. but eventually got it!

my sleeve is on the 17th - just nearing the end of the first week of pre-op!

Has your shoe size gone down? 100+ pounds gone
I’m needing a mans size 9 and hating no choice in women’s shoes so really hope so with shoe sizes changing

September sleevers
Wow I hope it goes well with the all liquid, I’m just nearing the end of week one of pre-op

What do you do for sweetening things?
Tried stevia and monk fruit but don’t like the taste of either, most of the sugar free products I’ve tried seem to end in diarrhea... still pre-op and I know my tastes could change but I do want to be able to have some sweet things occasionally
-
Did/do you track measurements and take regular photos?
Thanks... think I’ll try getting some photos taken this weekend or the next before I start pre-op, and I guess I should tackle the measurement issue! Love seeing and reading about the progress others have made

Losing Hope

Did/do you track measurements and take regular photos?
One of the suggestions i've been reading before having surgery is to take measurements and take lots of photos prior to surgery and then monthly for the first 12-18 months to show progress. Both not really something I like doing any of, and measurements especially I find hard to take as far as working out where ? I've read various guides and still get stuck there somehow. Do you take them regularly and look back much?

Starting Purees today!
i’m glad the eggs were good even if you are going back to shakes for now ... oh! glad i read the comment about cheese .... need to remember this

looking for post op sleeve patients
Hi, is she able to join and use the site herself as well? It’s wonderful you are looking for ways to help her, and as @GradyCat mentioned there is a ton of info you can glean on here that will assist... but having friends for the journey and people going through the same thing can be priceless help. All the best to you both

Pre op diet
Mines 2 weeks of optifast products x 3, plus 100 g lean protein and at least 2 cups of starch free vegetables

Thought rollercoaster ...
a really big thank you to each of you for what you've shared here ... and for your encouragement and talking about some of the things you've experienced. As far as local support groups, the one i can't attend seems to be the only one --- and is connected to my surgeon/hospital (the only one nearby offering wls) but for some reason insurance won't cover it ... so I've been trying to find and join a few more facebook groups (which means getting over my dislike of fb) as well as being here for some support i know this is my choice, although it seems a bit like my current choices are disability/death or surgery so ........ i definitely need to take this one @Azlanie i've heard variations of those comments as well, and they can be hard to hear .... and i need to keep reminding myself i'm choosing this for me and doing it for me ..... my choice not theirs! (and reminding myself again when i forget this) thanks again and for being the inspirations and encouragement that each of you are!

Everything physically hurts. Emotional stuff follows
i hear you on all the pain and co-morbidities ....and really hope you will soon be feeling so much better following surgery! and that a lot of these current issues will disappear so you'll have a lot less pain and want to get out and about again ? i know the delay has set things back a bit but glad the new date is getting closer!

Surgery postponed
I'm glad you are feeling some relief with this .... although would guess it's mixed emotions after the build up and now wait. Hope everything goes well now so you can have your surgery on the new date planned
