Protein shakes and nausea

Anyone else get nauseous and dry heave after drinking protein shakes? I also feel this way when I first wake up in the morning. I get surgery Monday, September 9th. Anything y’all did to help or is this normal?

I can’t drink the shakes by themselves, I used instant decaf coffee and dilute the sweetness. It helps, as long as I use a straw and I can’t use them after surgery. Idk what to do ??

Can you tell whether you’re having issues with the taste, texture, or ingredients? If you have a sense of the issue, it’s easier to troubleshoot. For example, I feel horrible if I drink whey protein shakes, but do fine with the vegan proteins.

Add water if too sweet or thick

are you making it with ice, that helped me a bit?

getting major gas with them now rather than nausea though

Cut the shake with milk-Fairlife if you can get that. It cuts the sweetness but still keeps protein high. I had to have mine really cold over ice initially.
