Weirdest things you are looking forward to after surgery
I took a walk through Macy and Nordstrom last Friday. I saw many things I will look forward to wearing or even just trying on! I look forward to not getting the look, comments and service that I got from the 2 "girls" at the Christian Dior make up counter. (I wear the CD lipstick).

Urine Screening - Smoking
When testing for THC (or any drug for that matter), the clinician can usually tell by the ng per ml of whole blood what your current use is. You may still show some THC in your system even after being abstinent for a month. I live in WA State, the "Ever Green" state. we have recreational Marijuana use for those over 21. All the clinics and doctors routinely ask about your use of THC now for treatment purposes.

I have my surgery on 10/1. I just started my prep diet this morning. I've already made my basic clothing selections based on the weather forecast for Mexico. I'm just flat excited to get this journey underway!!!!!!!!!!

Medical Tourism Insurance
Through the company in the link above, for the very minimum coverage they offered (not much), it would cost me $435.00 for their very basic plan. For the very best plan it was $1,435. Also, not a ton of coverage, but better. I too have been looking into Medical Tourism Ins coverage. It

October
I went online to the BariatricPal Store and bought 1 packet oc Chicken Bouillon , Beef Bouillon and a sample of the LuiquaCel Protein Squeezies. Today I was Just at Fred Meyer and found another brand of Beef and chicken Broth and bought some of those as well. I'm not buying too many of anything as many contributors to this forum have talked about how much their taste changed after surgery. I'm just taste testing these during my prep diet. I may buy more to have here when I get back home. I'm also testing how quickly my shipment gets here from BariatricPal store. Right now is my packing dilemma! I have my jammies, but what else do I take? Crazy...right?

Weirdest things you are looking forward to after surgery
I actually went to the Mall yesterday afternoon. I saw a pair of snake skinned patterned jeans & took a picture of them. I'm thinking by my birthday in April I may be rocking a pair of those jeans. If not, i'll be damn close!

Nutritionist issues
Wow, that sounds weird. Are you on insurance? I was seeing a nutritionist, covered by my insurance and had a (fairly generous) limit to my visits annually. I've never heard that from my insurance, but not all insurance contracts are alike.

October
I'm October 1st. Wow, time has flown by. I started my self pay journey back in April and thought October 1st would never get here. Now, I have spent most of my time reading books, work books, YouTube videos, and mostly this forum for wisdom and insight for my upcoming journey. OMG!!! I just ran out of coffee. I need to purge from caffeine and I start my pre op diet on the 24th. So, I have purchased some bulk organic black tea and caffeine free green tea. I will be mixing for the next few days until I get to Decaf status to avoid and "withdrawal" from caffeine. I don't drink much coffee, usually 2 or maybe 3 cups. However, my body may beg to differ with my summation of the caffeine debate. I am starting to pack as well. Oh yes...I am one of "those" people. Always way early and always prepared. Well better go count my Q tips again (for the 30th time).

Ng4345 - I just have a high tolerance for pain. I think either you do or you don't tolerate pain well. I absolutely cannot stand pain meds! Nor do I tolerate them well. You will be fine. Don't worry. No pain no gain...right? I hate that saying! So lame!

Looking for October Surgery Friends
Just an FYI for all of you. Did you know after wls you should take low level antibiotics for a day or 2 before any dental work? I didn’t know until I asked my doctor. I asked as they us surgical staples in the sleeve procedure. I already have to do the antibiotic regimen due to my knee replacement. So that got me to wondering. Be sure to ask your doctor re his recommendation.

Looking for October Surgery Friends
Wow, the countdown is on! I’m so excited. I just can’t weight to rid myself of this excess weight. I’m still shedding my old favorite foods one at a time. I guess it really started to become “real” when I booked my flights. I’m no longer scared, well not really. Just excited. I had a financial issue that I thought my put the kybosch on my surgery. At least for a while anyway, but that will work itself out. I am flying south, like a bird in migration on 9/30. Off to Tijuana, Bariatric Pal Hospital, Dr. Illan and his wonderful staff. And there, I will receive a wonderful gift, a tool to help me recover that smaller, healthier person trapped inside.

Favorite Scent of Poo Pourri!
I have Holiday sets to all 3 of my adult sons one year. Talk about a “crappy” gift. We all laughed about it. Within a week all 3 called to find out where I got it at. They liked them & their friends were asking about them. Until my husband showed us all the Unicorn Gold YouTube videos. Then we had to buy those to check them out. So, one of our holiday gifts to all three families in 2018 was a package of Unicorn Gold. Yet another “crappy” gift from Mom.
