  1. No. Absolutely not. I appreciate your comments. The more I know the better decisions I can make
  2. Thx. That makes me feel better
  3. Thx so much. Sounds like it should be tolerable. I take 30mg prevacid, can even skip a day sometimes
  4. For those of you who have gerd prior to sleeve procedure, just wondering how your gerd symptoms are after the sleeve procedure. I take prevacid daily and it's well under control. I do no want to have gastric bypass which is what is recommended sometimes if you have gerd. I've read where it's not such a problem for some people. Comments are appreciated
  5. Completed questionnaire for Dr Corvala. Very thorough. I did a lot of research on several physicians. I feel he's right for me. Any comments are welcome.
  6. I don't have any answers as I am researching the application vs sleeve. It sounds like a logical procedure but I'm concerned about possibly poor weight losses. I'm looking at Tijuana. Some very good surgeons there. I'm interested in application because I read that GERD improves
  7. I'm researching him. I'm thinking of the gastric plication vs the sleeve. He sounds very experienced with that procedure. A toss up between OCC, Dr Corvala at Angeles hospital, or Dr Garcia at Tijuana bariatric center.
  8. Thx for your comment. I like it because it's less invasive. My BMI is 31. So I have about 40 lb to LOSE. Thinking this May the way to go
  9. Anyone have the gastric plication. If so how was your weight loss? It is less invasive but not all.surgeons perform it
  10. I know what you mean. I'm on the fence as I have 40 to LOSE. Just not working with weight watchers. ( for the bazillion time) BMI is 31. I cancelled my sleeve surgery last month but with all these wonderful comments. I'm going for it . Shooting for a May VSG in May
  11. I also have gerd. Been on prevacid for years and am on cpap. Sounds a lot like you. Its good to hear the surgery improved your gerd and sleep apnea. I'm still researching the sleeve and have 35 # to LOSE. 5'6 203# how about you if you don't mind me asking
  12. Good for you who in Mexico?. I'm researching Tijuana Bariatric Center with Dr Garcia. I was scheduled for this week. Then decided to wait and see if I can LOSE the 35# with weight watchers . At the end of April if I haven't lost 10 lb I'm seriously looking into the sleeve again sick of being fat. Good luck
  13. Thank you. I'm really starting to think in favor of the sleeve. Even with only 35 # to LOSE, the weight is just not coming off. I'm giving it the month if April to LOSE 10 lb on weight watchers. If that doesn't happen, I will make my decision. Sick of weighing 200 . Appreciate your comments
  14. Thank you. Very informative. I will definitely check that out. The good thing it's very well controlled with prevacid. 30 mg. Appreciate the comments
  15. Was scheduled for a sleeve recently. Then I cancelled it and decided to try weight watchers (for the 4th time) after 1 month very minimal weight loss. Currently 198 and 5ft 6in. My goal weight is160. One part of me says just keep struggling with weight watchers . The other part say go for the surgery. I'm 66 yrs old and in good health except for sleep apnea and gerd. Any suggestions much appreciated
