Losingit2018 reacted to catwoman7 in I am SO hungry!!! Conversion Surgery Sleeve to Bypass
did your surgeon prescribe an antacid? Many of them do for the first 3-6 months after surgery. Stomach acid can sometimes mimic hunger.
if you're still on a liquid or pureed diet, you're not going to feel "full". Those things go right through you. Plus your nerves were likely cut during surgery, and it takes awhile for them to regenerate. You should start feeling restriction once you move to solid food.
I would not start food early. Follow your surgeon's plan.

Maybe you could explain to your husband that you are too nervous after all you have been through. Ask him to be patient with you. He should understand that I would think.

Losingit2018 reacted to momof3_angels in 15 1/2 weeks post op
Everyone (who knows) asks me if I am glad I had surgery.... HECK YEAH! 15 1/2 weeks post op. For the first 2 1/2 months, I lost weight at a quicker than average pace according to what is expected. Then I went through 4 weeks of barely loosing. The scale would go down 1/2-1 pound, then up 2-3 pounds for an entire week, then I would drop 1/2 -1 pounds below that lowest weight that I accomplished the week before. Then I would go up another 2-3 pounds for another week and repeat. It was frustrating, but I knew my body would slow down at some point to "catch up". I also knew that while the scale was barely moving, my body shape was still changing. To date: I lost 21 pounds in the 2 months pre-op. I have lost 48.5 pounds post op. That puts me at a total weight loss of 69.5 pounds since May. I am already BELOW my doctors projected goal weight. I am at a weight that if I stayed here, I would be fairly happy. And then I am only 23.5 pounds away from my IDEAL (in my mind) goal weight. Everyone is commenting on how great I look and it is obvious I lost a lot of weight. People are funny. There are those who know I had surgery and those who are thrilled for me. There are those who know who are jealous I think who needed the surgery more than I do who won't talk to me or say a word (whatever lol). Then there are those who do not know who are obviously noticing and afraid to say anything. And of course, the last group who hesitates before saying "you lost a lot of weight" followed by the long pause "are you OK?" LOL To them I just smile and say "Yes, I lost a lot of weight. I fixed some problems that I had and it is finally coming off". Their reactions are kind of amusing.
Today, I decided I needed to buy a couple pairs of jeans because none of my old clothes fit me anymore. The clothes I bought in late October no longer fit me any more either. What size did I buy today??? Size EIGHT pants and MEDIUM tops! And they ALL FIT WONDERFULLY! (I am HALF my dress/pants size of 16!!!) I even bought some fun dresses. I don't wear dresses, but I am excited to get these. My shoe size has also shrank. My feet are at least 1/2 to maybe 1 full size smaller. They are actually a little on the bony side right now. I don't remember them ever being this skinny lol. The other new thing that I have noticed? My legs not only look much skinnier, but they are a bit "jiggly" lol. Never before have I been so excited to have my calves jiggle LMAO. My daughter was excited that they jiggle lol. And today, I also took out my "mothers ring" that I haven't worn in nearly a decade. It fits perfectly again.
So yeah... VSG??? Best decision ever. Even if I can't eat all of the foods I love!

Just took six boxes of clothes to a neighbor who has a son who can use them. I'm 30 days prior to surgery and I've lost 16 pounds and one, almost two, pants sizes.

Call your dr about what you can take. It won’t delay your surgery unless you have a fever.
You could get some saline nasal spray and try to clear it out that way.

You definitely need to call your doctor. They need to know you can't keep anything down because it's not normal. They will know how to best guide you. Good luck!

Genepro just loss a law suit. They are comparing the products30 grams a serving to others 33.3 gram scoops. 1 tbsp has 14.3 grams in a tablespoon. Couldn't prove with science how 30 grams gets squeezed into 14.3 grams. So each scoop max would be 14.3 grams at the most. The products 14.3 grams may be as absorbing as well as 30 grams, I think not. That's why they got sued.

But, I've been selling my clothes on mercari, I've made about $300 so far!

I always liked Premier Protein since I had my sleeve done back in early 2018. I tried to drink it afterrevision and not only does it taste nasty, I can’t keep it down.
I am strictly using Syntrax Nectar mixed with fairlife milk now. chocolate Truffle tastes just like chocolate milk with zero Protein taste.
May the least go to the grocery store and get the fairlife milk to drink. It has 13 grams per 8 ounces. If you can get 4-5 cups per day in you can hit your protein goals. You could get Hershey’s Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup and make chocomilk if you like.
there are also several different clear Protein Drinks that may settle better with you. Protein 20 and premier makes some as well. Do your best to get the protein in as that is extremely important for healing.

I just hit 4 weeks since revision to bypass and barely able to eat either. Saw my dr yesterday and he said no problem. Concentrate on Protein and Fluid right now. Fine to get protein from shakes.

Start being a squeaky wheel. Call your team daily. Maybe even nicely let them know that you are getting annoyed having your life put on hold like this.
Seriously call daily for update. Hopefully they will process you just to stop the calls. You are paying for their service so they work for you.

Losingit2018 reacted to mousecat88 in another d*mn ulcer
I have another ulcer. I am 100% positive. It feels EXACTLY like it did when I had my last one. I can't get an endoscopy or any real medical care because if I take one more day of leave I get fired. Period. Fortunately, when my herniated disc was misdiagnosed as a stomach ulcer (don't ask if you didn't see that post), they had me buy TONS of Carafate so.... to Carafate it is. I also have some Nexium, so I am starting that, too. BURNS LIKE THE FIRES OF HELL. I hate this. I just sat on the bathroom floor of my job for 40 minutes because it burned so badly I couldn't stand up. Time for bland, soft foods. It's one of those pains where it hurts so badly you physically can't cry. It is subsiding now and was triggered as I was eating lunch. Jeeeeessuuusss.

Losingit2018 reacted to catwoman7 in 3 month appt. What I am doing wrong
except for the first few weeks, I ate around 800 calories a day for most of my first year. After a year out I was pretty consistently in the 1000-1200 range. I didn't hit 1200-1400 until I was zeroing in on my goal. A lot of women eat that much in maintenance (luckily, I can eat more than that and maintain...). So eating that much at three months out seems like a lot. Of course, I don't know what her rationale is - maybe there's a reason for it.
