I hope to be like you guys that bounce back and without any complications. My biggest fear is the surgery itself, having complications. But I'm glad to know it's normal to feel like this and im not the only one who had these thoughts. Thank you so much for replying, My biggest fears are complications after surgery. I see alot of people posting they can't go to work becauee they keep fainting, vomiting, dumping syndrome & etc

Reading my post of list/menus/instructions and saw that stage 3 (bariatric soft/pureed)begins after one week? I read alot of post saying they were put on clear liquid stage for 2 weeks & some even longer!!!! Stage 1 bariatric surgery clear liquids (2-4 days) before surgery & first 2-4 trays after surgery. Stage 2 bariatric surgery full liquids (2-7) days after surgery. Stage 3 bariatric surgery soft/pureed ( begins 1 week after surgery).

Doing my shopping list for after surgery(gastric bypass) anyone had premier protein shakes or water?

I have it as well... I got two weeks of antibiotics & the four weeks after that I went to do the breath test and it was still there. So my doctor putting me on another two weeks of antibiotics which sucks

I had no clue it's reversible that's good to know, I'm schedule for gastric bypass surgery April 19 but having cold feet from reading reviews like this. I know everyone body is different but I'm a nervous reck right now. But knowing it's reversible if having complications calms me down a little.

I just post about this I'm scared/terrified & having nightmares. My surgery date is April 19. Part of me excited about how surgery can change my life for the best and the part is terried because I don't know the outcome.

Hi everyone, so last year August I spoke with my primary care doctor about getting weight loss surgery. We both agree its the best choice for me.I did all my classes with my nutritionist & got approved for gastric bypass surgery. My surgery date is April 19 but for some reason I'm scared. I read a few entries about people regretting doing surgery & some horror stories. I read stories about people gaining back weight & others in n out of hospitals for various things.I'm scared. I'm terrified and honestly don't know if I should continue this journey. I'm 5'7 273lbs. I try so much different weight loss pills/diets and none work. I want to get the surgery so bad to save my life but at the same time I'm scared it's going to make it worse. I'm having mix feelings about this, anyone ever felt this was before surgery? Please help!!!!

I didn't have any questionnaires or anything like that to fill out or papers to sign.

I wasn't required to follow a special diet before surgery only after. I was told to make healthier choices, eat 15 mins after drinking or before drinking. And two days before surgery I should do a full liquid diet only.

My insurance covered all.
