Yeah! You go! Those things feel soooo good. For other non-WLS people, they have no idea how we mentally have fought with those things. The whole blood pressure cuff almost killed med at my highest weight.
BUT The further along I am with my goal as well, the more I need to think about non scale related goals. So it's great to hear that others are doing so as well. It's wierd to get that into my head. I also after 11 months I am starting to "see" my new body. I sometimes wonder if the full body mirrors Ive seen have one of those slimming effects that they do when they curve the glass a certain way.

I so hear you. I tend to make small handmade pizzas in the oven to satisfy my craving. That and pizza-like egg fritatas as excellent as well. Chips..well..im gonna try to do red beet chips in the oven soon. I miss crunchy salt Snacks. Bread...well..bread is my soulmate who abuses me, so I try to stay away from it other than high Fiber stuff once in a while.

I totallt agree. I ate McDonalds for the first time since my surgery last year and it wasnt anywhere near as good as I suspected it would be. Apparently, once you get away from fatty, salty, processed foods for a while, it seems like the body resets the tastebuds. I watched a tv show before that talked about it taking up to about 6 months for a product (in this case cereal) to lower sugar and salt so that customers adjust to the taste. Foods are really engineered to get us stuck on them.

On Prime: The Night Manager ( seriously have no idea why this isn’t more popular)
New series out on Epix by the Downton Abbey peeps. Belgravia . It just started and is on episode 2, airs Sunday nights in the US.
Netflix: *Mindhunter, You, Ozark, Broadchurch, Gilmore Girls, Schitts Creek, Great British Baking Show, Virgin River.. (meh, but mindless) and Queer Eye. I’ll watch anything Ted Bundy and Serial murder related....
    *LOVED Mindhunter
Thanks for the tip on The Innocence files!
I had to stop watching Handmaids Tale, felt like it was getting to close to reality and freaked me out.
I loved Unorthodox too! It made me think of another one. This is on YouTube for free; Becoming a Nun. Think mean girls meets a convent... lol

Krestel got a reaction from JessLess in Low Blood Pressure
Low blood pressure has become a way of life for me. I always have to get up slowly (10 secs or so) or Im on the floor. I think this is from dropping weight so quickly and hope it will get better when my body gets more used to the change over a period of time. Ill keep you posted.

Krestel reacted to Ellf in As of Yesterday, 200 lbs lost from my heaviest
Weighed myself yesterday morning, and I was 227 lbs. The weight I was that got me to start this journey to begin with was 427 lbs., almost two years ago. Sure, today I fluctuated up 4 lbs. due to Water retention from what I ate yesterday (and not having a bowel movement until after I'd eaten breakfast), but I count that as a win. For reference, I was 360 lbs on the day of my surgery, 13 months ago.

I gave up diet coke before my surgery as well and boy did it make a difference. Oddly enough, diet coke is too fizzy for me to drink, but the carbonated Water at home is just fine. I think it isnt as fizzy. BUT getting off 95% sweeteners (natural and man-made) really helped with craving sweets

Im almost 11 months out and I eat a bread that has chia etc in it in order to get more Fiber. It's rather small but since it's rather moist, I really like it. I use it to get more fiber since im still having Constipation problems.

Hehe, I'm 10-11 months out and I still have that problem. It's just us getting up too quick. I hope that after my weight stabilizing for a while that it changes. I talked to my doc about it and it's quite normal. We just have to get up slowly or stand in place for a few secs before continuing on.

I was thinking this morning. With the current Shelter in Place requirements, working from home, and having to cook most of my meals - pre surgery I would have definitely gained weight. I would have eaten my feelings and stressed, and I probably wouldn't have made it a point to walk everyday. With this surgery I am losing weight. It's not easy. I am fighting head hunger every day. And yes, I'm still stressed, but walking is not only good physically, it's good mentally - getting fresh air and sunshine.
Wishing everyone health and happiness. Stay safe and take care of yourselves!

Great idea! Let's do! All play dress up and wear our make-up this Sunday. Realized with the mask no need for make-up or lipstick! Boy, have I ever gotten lazy over the weeks... I may never want to dress again.

Krestel got a reaction from Lily66 in When does energy return?
I think your energy will come back once you start eating a few more calories. If you are out walking say an hour, you will burn around 250 calores and if you are eating only 600-800 you dont have much left to have energy from. So watch out for eating too few calories as well. The first few weeks or so are your body taking the energy it needs to heal so dont overdo it.

Krestel got a reaction from Krimsonbutterflies in How slowly do I you eat??
I think every 5 minutes is a bit much imho, but 1 bite every 1-2 should work. That way 20 bites is about 20 mins which is the time needed to "feel" your stomach which may not happen for you for a while.

My whole slow eating approach is to take small bites and keep it mentally slow. In the beginning I was literally nibbling on things. So eating half a banana took forever. To help me along the way, I also bought smaller kids/dessert sized knives, forks and spoons. (Ikea has a dessert set called Dragon which looks very nice and has a matching normal size as well.) I also use only small dessert plates which research shows fools the mind.
