SusieQ2019 got a reaction from Feeling_Sleevey in Complications?
I haven't had any complication since surgery on April 29th, but it looks like you are doing everything correct by notifying your doctors right away. I wish for you smooth sailing from now on.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

I am down close to 40lbs since starting the pre op diet on 4/22. scale hasnt move since Sunday but im not too concerned as I am following the rules and can see it in clothes already. Hitting a first milestone will feel really good but first I have to get below where I am which is the lowest I have seen in 5 years and stalled out in the past and quit after doing the traditional route.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from GastricGal in April 2019 Surgeries!
I had my post-op appointment today and I am down 11lbs from surgery date of 4/29. According to my Surgeon and my dietitian I am ahead of schedule for the weight I've lost far. I was advanced to soft cooked eggs soft vegetables (fish which I don't eat) and some fruits. I am doing well with my Water, but need to increase Protein to 64 oz. I found that I don't like anything that is sweet and I don't have an appetite. My incisions are healed and pain near the largest incision is pretty much gone.
Starting weight-260 lbs
Surgery Weight-244 lbs
Current weight-233 lbs

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from daisy7914 in Incision pain
The larger incision was painful even after a week. I am into week 2 and the pain is pretty much gone. As long as nothing is oozing out you should be fine. I switched up the way I sleep by alternating on each side. Also try not to lift anything heavy.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from sillykitty in PLEASE HELP. I’m 2 weeks post op with very little weight loss.
@sillykitty you made me smile. I guess I am looking at it in terms of me hitting a stall so soon, but I am loosing again. Overall I am very happy with the weight loss. I feel great and I am fitting into clothes I haven't worn in morning a year. Thankful for that and for this site.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from Aprilgal in No weight loss since surgery!
Don't feel discouraged I am a slow looser to. I am two weeks out and when I went home from the hospital I was 9lbs more than the day of surgery. Today I am down 11 lbs since surgery, 22 lbs in total when I add the weight I lost during the liver fast and 27lbs since October. I felt discouraged but my co workers are telling me that I am loosing weight although they don't know that I had surgery lol. My cloths are fitting me loose and I had to remove 2 links from my watch.
We will get there.

SusieQ2019 reacted to melanieClaire2018 in PLEASE HELP. I’m 2 weeks post op with very little weight loss.
I’m a slow loser as well. Hang in there. It will come. I stopped following the GS community on Instagram because I was feeling like everyone else was losing faster than me. I lose 2-4 pounds and then plateau for 3-4 weeks. It’s hard but I keep reminding myself how I FEEL and don’t pay attention to the scale. I had the procedure last November and have lost a little north of 30 pounds.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in PLEASE HELP. I’m 2 weeks post op with very little weight loss.
Don't be discouraged. I am a slow loser as well, I am down 11 lbs since surgery 2 weeks ago. I was stalled for a couple of days but it is moving again. I m doing exactly what I am suppose to do, drinking my Water, eating my Protein, taking my Vitamins and walking on the treadmill. I am not hungry, and I have no cravings.
Don't give up we got this.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Back to work today!!
Thanks guys!
@ProudGrammy I will take retirement any day lol. @karenbb8 the week I was home I was mainly on my bed and couch and found I had less energy. I think the more I am up and about the more energy I get.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from FluffyChix in how has surgery impacted your hunger?
I was sleeved on April 29th one week ago and my appetite is gone I feel no desire to eat but I still do to get my Protein and Fluid in. Yesterday I made spaghetti with ground meat and Italian sausage and I had zero craving or the urge to eat. I am on the pureed stage for one month.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from Ruby Hernandez in Can I still have my VSG if I’m on my period?
Yes, I just had my VSG on the 29th April and my period came the day before. Let the nurse know so that they can give you underwear and pads. I was annoyed because it was 10 days early but it wasn't a big deal. It was funny when they asked when was my last period and my reply was NOW. lol.
Good luck...

I am having the sleeve. On my first appointment my weight was 260 with a BMI 42. I am now down to 253 hoping to loose at least another 10lbs before surgery day.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from koketika in Was anyone else told not to shave their legs 4 days before surgery?
My instruction say do not shave the area where the incision will be and do not apply perfume, deodorant, lotion, makeup or chemical where incision will be.

SusieQ2019 got a reaction from karenbb8 in Back to work today!!
I had my sleeve exactly one week ago today and I went back to work today. It wasn't bad at all. I drank plenty of Water and ate my Proteins on schedule. Still a little sore when I cough or sneeze, but that is to be expected.
