    January surgeries?!

    Great Job!! I am currently down 70 pounds, reached my doctor's goal a few weeks ago but I am 9 pounds away from my personal goal. Overall doing well, though I am still not as strong as I wish I was. Though, to be honest-I don't exercise as much as I should so I only have myself to blame. Trying to focus on my food issues/addiction as I still have an up and down relationship with food. I am very fearful that I will gain my weight back in a few years because that relationship isn't healthy. I have more good days than bad days so that is good. One day at a time.

    Hopefully, with you staying on your insurance company, you will get the approval needed. I did my surgery in Kuala Lumpur, but I reside in China so it was easy to get to-the total cost was under $8000 which included my flight, transportation cost and the entire surgery package (tests, hospital stay, etc...). Our home is in Florida and there was a surgeon in North Florida that was around 11,000 dollars which included all of the testing. There were a few others in that price range if you google it. Additionally, there are some financing places. Let's pray for the insurance company to approve!

    January 2019 sleevers

    Checking in to see how everyone is doing? I am down 38 pounds since 01/24/19 and happy about it. I had a couple of days where I sweets -one was my birthday and the second was while watching a TV drama so I now know to stay away from watching TV dramas with sweet foods around. I get hungry now but the hunger pains are smaller than before and obviously it is easier to ease the hunger. I am consuming 400-600 calories a day. I was exercising quite a bit in the beginning but have slowed down on that end, usually I am pretty tired at the end of the day to do anything. I am getting a bike over the week-end so I can bike to and from work. I am hoping this will get me more active. I know I will need to increase my calories but am struggling to do that mentally. How else is everyone doing?

    Not Hungry At All Hmmm

    I had no hunger for almost a month. I am just over 2 months post op and get the occasional hunger feeling but not like it was prior to the WLS. I am, as stated above, taking full advantage of it because I know at some point, my hunger will come back like it was before.
  5. Congratulations!! I have not experienced this before but I know MANY women who have been pregnant and not gained any weight, some that were overweight even loss. I would definitely talk to your nutritionist and your dietitian as you want to ensure that you are getting what you need for a healthy pregnancy. I would think that with a healthy, balanced diet, proper vitamins and exercise that you can have a healthy, successful pregnancy with little to no weight gain. Please keep up posted. Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!

    No weight loss

    I appreciate the above two responses! I will need to add more water to my diet. I try hard to drink at least 64 oz but have been afraid of stretching my stomach. I will also need to add more protein, need to figure out how though Saw some recent post on it so I will start researching.

    My heart hurts for you because I think I would have gone stir crazy at this point! It will get better. So, having said that, have you spoken to your nutritionist and/or dietitian? I was advised NOT to drink protein drinks. My dietitian was very specific about it. She stated that they had a patient recently who had not lost for months because she was drinking protein shakes. I personally would stop drinking them and eat solids. 1. Protein drinks are usually high in calories. 2. You consume more drinking a shake rather than if you ate solid foods. That is my opinion but I would consult your team. I still eat a very low calorie diet, between 400-600 calories a day. I eat 5-6 times a day-that is the plan that my dietitian put me on. I eat for 30 minutes (usually takes me about 10-15 minutes because my portion is so small). I wait for 30 minutes then drink for 30 minutes (I draw this out for the full 30 minutes), wait for 30 minutes and repeat.The cycle is a total of 2 hours. Now I sometimes skip my eating section because of my teaching schedule but I try really hard not to. I am also exercising 40-60 minutes a day. I have lost 30 pounds in just over 6 weeks, I weigh myself 2-3 times a week.

    My Chinese coteachers and Chinese students noticed, NOT ONE OF MY 18 Foreign coworkers noticed. I think it may be two things: 1-They are too polite to mention it and/or 2. We are just too self-involved. Can you share a before and after picture. I did a lot of side by side collages and that was the only way I noticed.

    Where are my 5ft tall peeps at?

    I'm 5'1 as well. My nutritionist asked me what my goal weight was. At the time of my surgery I was 90.7 so I told her that I wanted to be 55kg which I felt was doable and a good BMI. She advised me that she thought the goal was a little unrealistic and put down 60kg. I am working to prove her wrong! 13.5 Kg down with 22.2 kg to go. Great job @ms.sss!!

    I had my surgery on 01/24 and lost 29.7 pounds so far. I haven't had too many hunger pains as of yet, and mainly due to poor planning on my part so I had to wait a little longer to eat safely. I feel more tired than I thought I would be at this point but know it is due to low calories. I generally eat between 500-600 calories a day. I should up that number but feel nervous or worried about it. I am losing between 2-3 pounds a week and want to stay at that amount. I think if I up my calories and exercise, it shouldn't be an issue but thinking it and doing it are two different things. So far the best moment-when I came back to school after winter holiday (which was 5 weeks in China), my students were amazed how much weight I lost. They kept saying, "Wow! You are so thin." I hugged everyone of them

    Great job Dana! I had my measurements taken for me for a project that someone was doing. Unfortunately, the person was Chinese and though I thought I would be able to translate it, I am not quite sure if I am correct 😂 My clothes are becoming looser and that is good enough for me.

    How is everyone doing? I hit my first stall this week. It was pretty frustrating and drove me crazy for a few days. My last day put me in a huge funk but I had to pep talk myself out of it. The big thing that I have come to realize that I need to only weigh myself once a week. So, at 5.5 weeks post op, I have lost 25.74 pounds.
  15. I am so glad that I went past the first page on this forum and found this post. I hit a stall this week-at week 5, and it actually looked like I put a pound back on. I went into a funk for a day, well it probably was a little longer than that. I was upset, frustrated and was close to losing my mind! I did check my weight and I am back on track, weighing what I did last week. I have decided to weigh myself only once a week. I have to trust that if I work the plan, the weight will come off.
