  1. I recently discovered Fairlife protein shakes. They are absolutely delicious. The Fairlife Nutrition Plan has 30g Protein, 4 net carbs, 2g Sugar and 150 cals. Their Core Elite has 42g Protein and 9 net carbs, 8g of sugar. I also really like Iconic Protein Cafe Latte, a few mins in the freezer tastes like starbucks fraps.
  2. I stall A LOT. I have lost a total of 85 lbs in 9 months since surgery. However, I lost a ton in the beginning, like first two months and now I go weeks to months without a loss. I workout 6 times a day at a Boot Camp which supposedly burns 400-700 calories per workout and I eat about 700-800 calories per day. I have seen people starting at the same time, same weight and achieve better results. However, I feel without the surgery I could have never achieved anything. I did a liquid diet with 800 calories for 8 months and the results were blah pre-surgery. My metabolism then was around 1400 calories. I wonder where I stand now. I am scared I'll reach the 1 year mark and still have 60-80lbs to lose. I am 5'1 and currently weight 198 lbs.

    Small Victory

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. I am quite happy with the results. I feel so much healthier and move so much better!
  4. I was stalled for a while. I have been working out 6 days a week at a boot camp and eating well with not much of movement. Maybe I was gaining muscle mass. Anyhow today when I got on the scale, I had tears of joy. Finally reached ONEDERLAND.. HW: 329 lbs SW: 283 lbs CW: 199.6 lbs

    Weird things happening

I think this is normal. You aren't eating. You just had major surgery. I remember how EXHAUSTED I got from just taking showers. I couldn't eat much at all. I had no will to eat during the first few weeks. Like after I got out of the shower, I had to rest before I could even put on my clothes. I had no pain or anything, just weakness. It gets better with time. I am 8 months out and feel energized. I eat around 600-800 calories and workout everyday.
  6. Best: Being able to LOSE weight for a change. Also, it has changed my taste buds. I could never eat meat/chicken/steak.. I would get grossed out. Now I crave the protein. Getting full faster. Worst: While it is great getting full faster, it also sucks sometimes LOL. It's like you take two bites and you're done. Sometimes I feel deprived of food. I still have a lot of issues with head hunger.

    8 weeks post op...

I lost a bunch of weight my first two months. However, since then it has been extremely slow. I lose less than < 5 a month. Sometimes not even that. I workout 5-7 times a week at a boot camp and do hot yoga. It gets frustrating, however, I do not mind the slow results as long as I am stronger and I can move so much better.
  8. My dad couldn't tell the difference, and I had lost 60lbs. It was only after I had lost more and showed people before and after that some people noticed it. At times I stall, but my clothes fit better. I started to measure inches.

I'm not hungry... I want food.

I am 8 months out and I feel deprived sometimes too. I watch videos of food blogs on youtube and snapchat. It helps me, however, it could make it works for someone. I did that in the beginning too.

    The WORST Loser

EAT S L O W L Y. Allow your body to realize it is full. Chew your food thoroughly. Sometimes I end up spitting out my last bite because I have not realized I am full. I measure everything. Follow the rules. Eat protein first.

Stop Hard Core Workouts after Surgery

I am at 6 months and recently joined a boot camp. I really love it. I have PCOS and seem to do better with exercise in general. Also, I have lost a lot of muscle mass and my upper body strength is horrible. I also have more energy now as opposed to before. I totally agree that everyone needs to make a decision for themselves. I am losing slower now so thought it would be a good boost.

    Fear of having surgery??

The feeling is so normal. It was my first surgery too and I think I have waited so long due to the same fears. They did give meds. I remember being hauled and a bit scared. But they were so sweet, made jokes and the meds just calmed me down. It wasn't bad at all. I wish I had gotten it done sooner. Best of luck and hopefully all will go well.
