I like my 20 oz Tervis Water Bottle. Very durable. Can sip out of it without using a straw.

OMG! I'm so happy I could dance down the street naked! I FINALLY made it to Onederland today, 5 months post-op sleeve.
I've been stuck in a stall for five weeks, teasing me at 202 and so close but so stuck and I thought I was never going to lose another ounce for a minute or two.
But now I'm finally a LOSER! Yay! So excited! Now I feel like the scale will keep moving and it can go down to meet my goal.
So glad to be in the 100's again!

One factor on the pro side is that you'll be eating so much less food that you'll be spending less on groceries and/or eating out. And think of all the money you'll save from not buying snacks! 🙂 I don't buy organic or anything, so I just buy regular old food as cheap as I can get it like at Aldi or Kroger or Sam's Club. There are Protein Shakes at Walmart, Amazon, and Sam's Club. I buy my Vitamins at GNC, but once I don't have to do the soft chews anymore I'm going to get the buy 1 get 2 free at Walgreens and save some money there. I don't know how expensive shipping is to Hawaii, but you can find a LOT of good Protein food options and vitamins online. Good luck with your decision.

Has it happened again since then? Might just be a fluke. If it continues, you could call your doctor. I had a "foamies" feeling today after eating Peanut Butter, even though I've had it before without issues.

GradyCat reacted to KT1981 in Having Such a Hard Time "Treating" Myself
I'm about 7.5 months post-sleeve and down almost 99 pounds (89 from surgery date). I have 26 pounds to goal. I have completely overhauled my eating habits, as many of us have. I stick to my physician's plan very, very closely. So while I am still a work in progress in conquering 30+ years of bad eating habits and a terrible relationship with food, I'm doing incredibly well... except when I decide to treat myself.
    Here is my rationale:
I'm a human. I am allowed to enjoy food. Most of the time it is simply fuel, but sometimes I may want to have a cookie, or some chips, or something else that normal, non-obese people eat on occasion as a treat. I am making a conscious decision to eat these foods and am accounting for them in my food logs. I am generally able to eat just one (or one serving) of these items without triggering my binge eating desires... but I can't seem to do it without absolutely beating myself up mentally afterwards.
Today, after having met my Protein requirements for the day, and still being within my preferred caloric intake, I chose to have two servings of tortilla chips (22 chips and 280 calories) and half of a grocery store cookie (70 calories). I can't stop feeling like a failure. Like I "cheated". Like I ruined everything. And you know what that is leading me toward? Binge eating. I haven't done it, and I don't think I will, but I WANT to now, because I'm such a "failure" for having enjoyed something that wasn't strictly fuel for my body.
Does anyone else struggle like this??

That's a shame. I've heard of other people not liking Protein Shakes on here in the forums. I like them. I use premade GNC Lean shakes (chocolate)

Have you tried Protein snack Cakes? They're GREAT! And Protein chips? They're healthier alternatives to Snacks and they ensure you get your protein in.

I eat out once or twice a week with my husband and I order something sensible like a grilled chicken breast or salmon and I give him the side dishes. When I eat out with friends, I choose places where I know I can order something healthy, like a Breakfast place that offers eggs. It can be done.

I haven't told anyone about my WLS and I'm six months post-op. If someone mention that I look like I've lost weight and asks about it, I just say, "Diet and exercise" (which is TRUE!). I don't like most food at all. I never have. My weight was mostly due to eating tons of Cookies and chocolate. I like very few foods. So now I mostly drink Protein Shakes and eat deli ham and cheese most days.

My neighbors and people I'm on a Board of Directors with who see me once a month have commented on my weight loss and been very favorable, but my mother-in-law hasn't said a word, hasn't noticed, or refuses to give me the compliment of noticing I've lost 50 lbs.
My friend is morbidly obese and was laid off from her job and is having trouble finding a new job and I think a lot of it has to do with her weight.
    The discrimination is real.

I was "lucky" in that respect because I've never liked food. I just really don't like most foods. I was existing on Cookies and chocolate and sweets for all my meals. So the surgery really helped me learn how to stop eating those foods and focus on real food and learn how to eat food. It's a struggle and I only eat a few foods, but I do it. You'll have a plethora of foods to choose from post-op, so don't worry.

I used the above calculation of weight ÷ 2.2 x .8 and it equaled 100 grams. Is that too much fluffy? I weight 277 right now.
