GradyCat got a reaction from BeanitoDiego in "You look great - You're wasting away..." - Dammit I have 10lbs to lose....
True, I wish I had taken my measurements 2 months ago when I started working out at the gym to compare. Sometimes those measurements show more than the scale alone.

GradyCat got a reaction from NCL04321 in Bullying post op
Don't let the jerks get to you. First, they don't know you. Second, they were immature. Third, you are on a journey where you hadn't yet reached the goal, but you're working toward it. Strangers can't know that. Strangers shouldn't have any control over your emotions. I know it's easier said than done, but we care about you and won't bully you here on this forum.

GradyCat got a reaction from kelco35 in What protein shakes for Reset to take off regain.
I'm on a permanent re-set. I drink one or two premade lactose-free Protein Shakes each day and eat primarily Protein the rest of the day within my portion controlled sized. I've lost 30 lbs of regain recently but still need to lose more. I use GNC Lean shakes 25 g protein in Swiss chocolate flavor.

GradyCat got a reaction from learn2cook in Under 25 and choosing this?!
And I thought I was too "old" at 53. I don't think there's any age too young or too old to get healthier and use this surgery as a tool for a better life. Good luck with your WLS journey.

GradyCat got a reaction from Dogmom68 in Too old for plastics?
Old at 38? Seriously? I had my WLS at age 53. I still might consider plastics at some point. It's never too late to feel good about yourself.

GradyCat got a reaction from SimF50 in Why Are Scales so Fickle?
So I'm grumpy this morning because the scale said I gained a pound since yesterday. I did NOT gain a pound. I usually get up really early and go to the gym, but the scale has started my whole day off wrong. I know better than to let it get to me, I really do, but it's clouding my morning already because the numbers had been creeping down and suddenly it jumped up a whole pound in a day for no reason. Sigh. I HATE THE SCALE!!!!

GradyCat got a reaction from Esi in Eating carbs (pasta, rice, or bread )
Three years post-sleeve here and my body still doesn't like tortillas and I can only have a forkful or a single spoonful or potatoes, rice, or carbs.

GradyCat got a reaction from Goddesslola in Just a journey
I've just come back to these forums and caught up with your progress. I too am refocusing and starting over. Well, not from scratch, but back to the basics. I started back to the gym on Nov. 22nd and have been 36 out of 41 days since then doing 45-minutes to an hour a day. I started Weight Watchers 3 weeks ago and am actively tracking food and Water intake. We can do this!!!!

GradyCat got a reaction from SleeverSk in Thigh Lift
This is interesting to learn. I didn't know there was such a thing as a "thigh lift." I'll be watching this thread to see how it goes for you all and learning more information about it.

GradyCat got a reaction from bebaeg in I've regained the weight I lost
No, not at all. People think their stomach stretches, but it's not that easy for your pouch to stretch out according to my surgeon. I asked her after my 30 lb weight gain and had an endoscopy and she said my pouch was still good to go!

Don't be ashamed. We're human. And that's what we're here for to listen and support and encourage each other.
I did the exact same thing. I gained 30 lbs during COVID. Just got them off over the last 3 months. It IS possible to still lose after WLS and after a weight-gain. The tool still works, you just have to use it.
Go back to the basics of tracking every single thing you eat and drink. Get your 60g Protein, 64 oz Water daily. It'll come back off.
It won't be fast, but it'll be reliable. You can do it!

GradyCat got a reaction from KimA-GA in Fluid Intake
Okay, so we've heard all our lives to get 64 oz of Water each day. But why? I just watched a YouTube video with a doctor whose name I can't pronounce or spell say that our bodies naturally tell us how much water we need. We have a built-in mechanism to keep us from drinking too much. He said that the 8 glasses a day is an arbitrary number.

GradyCat got a reaction from learn2cook in 3 years post op
Same here. I gained 30 pounds back during COVID but recently re-lost them. I eat around 1000 calories a day and 75 g Protein.

Sounds like you need to consult with a different surgeon.

GradyCat got a reaction from Amazon73 in Secondary insurance covered; primary - no
I used to be an insurance adjuster, so I know a little bit about this. Secondary won't pay anything that primary doesn't cover. They just prorate the underlying coverage.

GradyCat got a reaction from Nicki100 in Exercise videos for 60 +
There are TONS of good indoor exercise videos for free on YouTube. Just type in "Indoor exercises for seniors" or something similar. I did a 10-minute one on there last night for using dumbbells and toning my arms. I also belong to AARP and they have tons of 2-10 minute exercise videos for seniors, and depending on if you're on Medicare and have Silver Sneakers, Silver Sneakers has online free at-home fitness videos as well. I especially like Denise Austin.

GradyCat got a reaction from lizonaplane in What's On Your Workout Playlist?
I've been using the same playlist for 60-75 days now and while I like most of the songs I feel like I need to incorporate some new ones into the mix as well. I prefer up-temp dance type music, but also have some old-style gangsta rap on mine as well! 😀
Here's part of what my playlist looks like, share yours with us:
The Real Slim Shady - Eminem
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
In Da Club - 50 Cent
Fergalicious - Fergie
Hotel Room Service - Pitbull
Hot in Herre - Nelly
Grillz - Nelly
Air Force Onces - Nelly
Tik Tok - Kesha
Atomic Dog - George Clinton
Boys are Back in Town - The Busboys
