It takes me 45 minutes to an hour to drink one but I haven't found them getting yucky. Do you use powder or pre-made? I use the premade GNC Lean shakes 25 g Protein swiss chocolate flavor.

I don't understand why you're still having pre-op appointments if your surgery isn't scheduled and you were pre-approved 8 months ago. My process was 3-4 months start to finish.

Hi I’m 3 yrs out from my surgery..just wondering if anyone is having an issue with what I call food coma right after a meal.. It seems like no matter what I eat it could be the most healthy thing and right after I eat I crash real hard and get very sleepy..even sometimes after my Premier Protein drinks..I even drink the espresso ones with caffeine and make smoothies with fruits and veggies and still crash after any advice appreciated..

Yeah, limit sugar as much as you can. But if you like sweet treats, I found a good one. If you stick to the recommended serving of 15 pieces (bears), it's a good option. 5 g Protein. 120 calories. 7 g sugar.

    Hi everyone!
My name is Anthony and I'm 31 years old. I've struggled with being overweight all of my adult life. I am just about 5'9" and currently weight 245 lbs. It may not seem like I have to lose as much as some others and a lot of people tell me that I don't look like I weigh that much, but I know that I don't like the way I feel or look. I have back and knee pain, especially when I am standing for too long. It's also difficult for me to exercise at this weight. I've lost weight in the past via diet and/or medications but it always manages to come back on.
I'm strongly considering the gastric sleeve. My only worry is that I did have my colon removed when I was 16 due to severe Ulcerative Colitis. I now have what's called a "j-pouch", which is basically when they form a new bowel out of your small intestine so that you don't need an ostomy/colostomy bag (I did have one for 3 months in between the 2 surgeries - first surgery to remove the colon, second to reverse it and make the pouch).
I've checked with my doctors and one of the colorectal surgeons said he doesn't recommend the gastric sleeve and a couple of others said their only concern would be having urgent bowel movements due to having less of a digestive tract, but told me to check with the bariatric surgeons to make sure. The bariatric surgeon said he thinks it would probably make me have LESS bowel movements since I would be eating less and the food would be moving slower through my system.
Wish me luck, I am having another virtual consultation next month!

The standard recommendation by medical professionals for all adult humans is 150 minutes/week. That's how they come up with 30 minutes a day 5x/week or 10,000 steps a day on average. It's just a benchmark.
You can do lots of things with resistance bands and non-impact exercises like yoga or stretching that shouldn't aggravate your pre-existing injuries. What about Water fitness exercises in the pool at a local gym or the YMCA?

Okay, first of all there are hormones that were released during your surgery, so you're probably a little emotional right now.
Second, did you think you were going to eat double cheeseburgers for the rest of your life? That part of your life is over. That's why you made the decision to get healthy and have the surgery in the first place.
Third, the nausea should be over by now. If it isn't call your doctor and check to see why you're still nauseous. Maybe they can give you some anti-nausea medicine. Is it only when you eat? Is it all the time?
Finally, talk to the therapist at your surgeon's office or through your health insurance. The mental part of obesity and hunger is the hardest part to tackle. Let somebody help you through it.

I have a pool at my apartment I just never go to it because kids and the current situations outside. I even bought myself mermaid tail which brings me so much joy to use but most pools wont let you now. So maybe figure out the best time for the pool downstairs. I'll look into potential Water fitness classes. A lot of my gyms near me sadly don't have pools. I love the idea though sounds fun.

Okay, so it's been two full weeks on the WW program and I've lost 3 pounds. I'm happy with that rate of loss and feel like it'll increase now that I'm transitioned fully from a no-carb diet to a more well-rounded diet as there would have been a period where I would have gained weight when reintroducing carbs. Overall it's easy to do, kinda fun to track and measure and explore. Plus you can't beat the variety of foods you're allowed to have.
    Anybody else doing WW?

I haven't tried the Patches, but one of my doctors, not my bariatric surgeon, but maybe my primary care doctor said she wasn't fond of them/they didn't work. I don't know. I take soft chews and they work just fine and I've had no absorption problems.
