Day three of liquids. 10 days til surgery. Surprisingly, liquid diet going way better than I anticipated (thanks for the new vitamix blender, hubby!!) and I’m 10 lbs down from my last doctor appt. Those are the positives. The negative is that I have developed severe sciatica issue. My half mile walk today has left me flat on my back with a heating pad. :(. Can’t imagine being in this much pain AND having abdominal surgery!!

13 days to go for me. Starting all liquids tomorrow. That should be interesting... :)

Agreed! If you have reflux now it will only get worse with a sleeve imo. Mine did. Revision coming up in 30 days

I am facing a bypass 4 years after a vsg thanks to terrible heartburn, reflux, GERD. I would maybe even try to get a third opinion- vsg can lead to increased reflux whereas a bypass will all but eliminate it. Good luck!

January 16th here - I was hoping for a December date, but thanks to my insurance requiring a specific hospital, January it is. Ironically, I start the presurgical diet on New Years Day - quite the new years resolution!

Hello!! Just snooping around for January Surgery Twins My op date is January 16th - going in for a revision from GS to RNY due to the "usual" complications - Hernia, Acid Reflux so bad it makes your head spin and a general lack of any real progress. I am 3.5 years out from my sleeve and while it worked wonderfully for the first 2.5-3 years, the GERD and its friends have me back tracking. Nervous in general - normal to be, I suppose, but overall, very excited to have this surgery as I hear it almost immediately takes care of the acid reflux. and WOW, is that ever a drain on your energy and your life. So that's a little about me. Looking forward to hearing more from all the other January People!
