  1. Awww hope it starts to get better as I'm sure it will. My surgery is on Monday ?
  2. Makes complete sense?
  3. Very true. The entire process has just been so long I just want it to be over. Lol. Thank you for the response ?
  4. Wow this doesn't sound good. Are you still in the hospital? I was told by my surgeon and nurse that I would need to walk immediately. The sooner I walk the better for the pain. That gas only goes away from moving around or so I've been told. Ask for something else for pain if need be. Not all meds work well with everyone. I was told not everyone ends up with acid reflux. I dont know who informed you of that but you should speak to your surgeon as you said. Try to stay positive it's only day 1. Hope you start to feel better ?
  5. Curious as to what foods you are allowed to eat right after surgery. I will only be allowed water, sugarfree sports drinks, sugarfree ice tea, broth, sugar free ice pops (only 1 a day) and sugar free jello. I have to do this for 2 weeks. ?
  6. If your cardiologist cleared you I'm sure you're fine. Remember focus on the positive only.....
  7. Awww anytime please don't hesitate to reach out. As someone whose been under anesthesia more times then I would like to remember no worries. I always say it's the best sleep I've ever had. Lol. Everything is going to be ok. Try to concentrate on all of the positive things. At the end of the day all of what you are going through now will make you a better you. Like I said earlier reach out anytime everyone needs support.?
  8. Wow I'm so happy for you. I go for my surgery next Monday. I have 2 weeks of only fluids after surgery no protein shakes. Only water, broth or jello. This preop is harder since my stomach now can hold obviously a lot more then it will postop. I'm not going to lie I'm hungry im just trying to stay busy and not think about it....
  9. Congratulations. You've made a great choice to improve your health as we all did. Everyone on here is nervous to some degree. Everything is going to be fine. ??
  10. You are absolutely 100% correct. That will be the next struggle trying to get 64 oz of fluid down a day. Lol.
  11. I'm on day 3 I'm going to get some gum today....lol. good luck on Tuesday
  12. Woo hoo congratulations ?
  13. Really? Does the gum really work? I have to get some. Lol. I thought it might make me more hungry ?
  14. Oh that's good progress. You got this keep going. I can't wait to join you ?
  15. One of the things I find so amazing on this site is how each surgeon has a different protocol. I know each patient is different eg: age, height, weight etc... but there are so many different versions lol. Are you doing well with getting down your liquids? I was told that can be the hardest. My doctor wants me to get down 64oz a day by constantly taking small sips. I was told dehydration is a huge concern with this surgery.
  16. I was thinking the postop will be easier because smaller stomach and probably not as hungry. Plus the fact of just having surgery who's thinking about eating when they are in pain. What pills are you taking? They told me I would be sent home with pain meds, nausea meds & injections to prevent blood clots. I was told my vitamins would not start until 1 month post OP. Those 2 foods look delicious. I may have to try them myself. Lol. ?
  17. Oh ok. I live in NYC and I'm having the surgery here. I was told I should go home the next day at most 2 day stay. ??
  18. I'm on 2 protein shakes a day and a smart ones frozen dinner. Today is day 3 and things seem to be getting better. I'm not as hungry as I felt on day 1. I can snack on celery as well the crunchiness seems to help. When I get hungry I just redirect to something else. I'm not really nervous. I'm actually more excited to put the surgery behind me. I started this in January so it's been quite the journey. My insurance had all of these requirements and basically made me jump through hoops to give me approval. I was approved in August thank goodness. I'm sure I will be nervous day of surgery but as of now just trying to get through this. I can't even imagine having 2 weeks post OP liquids ONLY...????lol Wow your traveling for surgery. How long will you stay in Turkey for recovery? Will that time be in the hospital?
  19. Yay we twinning. Lol. How's your preop diet going?
  20. Yeah so far it's been quite hard for me as well. I've been drinking like there is no tomorrow to fill myself up and trying not to think about hunger. Thank you for the encouragement.
  21. Good for you. That's amazing. I'm excited to change my life as well for the better. It's been a long time coming. Thanks for the encouragement. ?
