April 2019 Surgeries!
I am down close to 40lbs since starting the pre op diet on 4/22. Scale hasnt move since Sunday but im not too concerned as I am following the rules and can see it in clothes already. Hitting a first milestone will feel really good but first I have to get below where I am which is the lowest I have seen in 5 years and stalled out in the past and quit after doing the traditional route.

Stomach hungry but brain is not?
Starting on puree I have finally started to notice the fullness feeling but only in more dense foods. I am not thrilled in this stage because its a lot of work and preparation for a pretty short period of time and I dont want to ruin foods i do like by pureeing them. I am glad to see things are working as I hoped they would! edit: scrambled egg this morning is not sitting well but yesterday I had one fine. I am going to revisit in 2 weeks or so to see how I handle it.

Stomach hungry but brain is not?
Yes I am on something I didnt realize it was a PPI. 30 days something for stomach acid. Last night i was cleared for full liquids and today I tried Dannon light and fit and sf pudding. My plan calls for 1oz but I was able to finish both 4 oz cups. I assume this feeling of restriction is going to come from foods that are more dense. Perhaps greek yogurt I would feel it more just have to get some from the store. Is the 1oz per serving more of a safety thing or weight loss related because Im only getting a bit over 330 calories per day all from my protein shakes so far and cant see the harm in having a 4oz serving of yogurt or pudding. Still not feeling any signs of hunger or cravings.

How is this even possible?
How are you doing now its been a few more days.

Congrats to all of your amazing losses you are all bariatric veterans. When i say full/satisfied I meant the same thing. Not on a PPI.

Stomach hungry but brain is not?
I am enjoying this ambivalence but it feels off. I want to have that fullness feeling because one of the biggest reasons for having the surgery was because I would never feel satisfied on normal portion sizes. Not having that fullness cue really make me mad given the amount of money I paid for that exact purpose. With better choices and portion control these changes will get much closer to my goal.

Stomach hungry but brain is not?
I am 10 days into my sleeve and this morning I have noticed my stomach starting to rumble which stopped after I finished my protein shake. Whats weird is how my brain is processing it and the best way to describe it is confused. I am eager to move to full liquid to see what my sleeve will handle with semi solids like yogurt. Is this normal at all? I have not deviated from the clear liquid at all yet. I havent felt that tingling or full sensation since day two when I first began to sip liquids. I can handle 8oz of liquid so far no problem but havent attempted to go beyond that. I have my first follow up on Thursday.

Excessively long clear liquid phase
Day 7 - who would have thought that protein shakes are what I look forward to? Unjury ready made shakes are phenomenal. My friends and family are definitely looking at me like I am starving myself but there just isnt any hunger its hard to explain. I am excited to see how my body reacts to the semi solids

6 days out - NO real pain
I had surgery on the same day except I did the sleeve. My recovery has been exactly like yours with no issues except for mild pain at the incision points. I think age and overall health plays a major factor. Be thankful you are not having any issues.

Excessively long clear liquid phase
Feel pretty good excited for the weight to start falling off. I just have the pulling feeling as if my stomach is being weighted to the ground but I believe that’s from the internal stitching.

Excessively long clear liquid phase
Full liquid means consistency of things like yogurt/applesauce and some thicker soups. Below are the next added. From my manual Choose 1 ounce (2 Tbsp) of the following food items at each meal: Low-fat, no sugar added yogurt w/ <10g sugar per serving Part skim ricotta cheese Low Fat cottage cheese Sugar-free pudding Unsweetened applesauce Pureed soup (e.g. bean/lentil, split pea, butternut squash, etc.)

Excessively long clear liquid phase
I was sleeved on April 29 and my first follow up is not until May 9. This feels excessively long to be on clear liquid compared to others here that I am seeing are already on soft/purée. I am not having any issues with getting things down and the gas gets better less every day. I really would like to go to full liquid sooner for variety sake. Does anyone else find 10 days on clear liquid a bit excessive?

Feeling like this didn’t work....
Try to ignore fluctuations I woke up this morning down 6lbs from yesterday after a good nights sleep. I was very annoyed yesterday seeing the scale had not moved since surgery and nearly made a post here asking what other first week experiences were. I’m getting 500 a day and I am still on clear liquid with 330 of that from the protein.

April 2019 Surgeries!
I’m on clear liqiid till Thursday May 9 which would be 10 days on it. My program feels extremely conservative compared to others but atleast I didn’t have to do liquid diet pre op like I’ve seen many others.

3rd day
I was also sleeved on April 29 my experiences are a bit different. I like ice cold water the best though my stomach seems to tolerate the lukewarm the best. Lots of funny sounds coming from my stomach assume this is the gas. I have always had gas issues so I tolerate it pretty well. I was advised 4oz per hour the first week I am able to do somewhere closer to 8 oz/hour but I am not pushing it. They gave me a bunch of 1oz medicine style cups but I have since moved to using a shot glass which are 1.5oz. Pain levels seem to spike every 4-6 hours I have been taking the Tylenol with Codeine which quickly takes the pain back. The best way I have described the pain to people are it feels like getting beaten with a bat where the incision points are. Coughing is a little painful and I havent sneezed yet but I am sure having this done while having a cold would be very challenging. Mentally I am doing great with no regrets and no cravings. My sleeping has gotten better each night. Night after surgery I could not sleep at all and I was walking the halls. Things I have tried and can tolerate so far Water (all temps)/ SF Jello/ SF Italian Ice/ Gatorade G2/ Unjury Readymade Chocolate/ Chicken Broth.

April 2019 Surgeries!
I am surprised your doctor cleared you for full liquids so soon. I am on clear liquid till next Thursday. No issues so far. I have been drinking from a shot glass which is a little bigger than the medicine cups they give you. No appetite just staying on pace liquid wise. Pro tip: fresh club soda from soda stream immediately gets out red dye from sf cherry Italian ice.

April 2019 Surgeries!
While some of you are tired of liquids what I would give to get my first water! Anyone else having problems with urinating on day of surgery?

Protein making me nauseous
I just tried the unjury ready made in rich chocolate and so far this is the best. My question is since this comes in 8.5 oz is it suitable for week one where they were saying I can only do shakes of up to 4oz. what unjury protein is closest to the rich chocolate ready made. They sent cholcolate splendor and chocolate classic.

Protein making me nauseous
I tried the no fat no sugar added pudding and it tastes so much better. I won’t be able to have it the first few days while on clear liquid so I will just have to tough it out. surprised overall how well I have handled eating so few calories this week.

Protein making me nauseous
Thanks so much I will look. Can you be more specific which one?

Protein making me nauseous
Finally got to try the unjury unflavored. I tried making the high protein SF Jello, while barely tolerable I am struggling to get it down. My level of anxiety with this is getting worse.

Approved!!!! 2 Days To GO!!!!

Protein making me nauseous
I start my pre op diet on Monday and have been having protein shakes to prep. The thought of the number of protein shakes I am going to have to drink over the next few weeks/months has started to give me anxiety. My concerns are when I have to go to 4oz and sip slowly its going to taste awful from just sitting there. I am mentally preparing to get through these major changes but already feeling obstacles.

Liquid diet and headaches :(
Remember there are other factors it could be. Seasonal allergies and changing of weather cause many people to have headaches.
