  1. It's amazing that's why I say get the bypass
  2. Hello there guys. Hope all is well. Well most of you know my story. Started my weight loss journey 10.5 months ago. Had surgery 8.5 months ago. Been in maintenance now 2.5 months. My high weight when I met the surgeon was recorded at 322LBS and I have lost weight really well and consistently the whole time, averaging about 20lbs a month ? i got down to 165lbs and have been stable and maintaining that weight for the past 2.5 months, I still check my weight often to make sure I'm not going up and this morning my weight has gone down again.... i don't understand. Like I'm not even trying to lose anymore weight I'm already below goal weight and feeling amazing. In maintenance I've been eating more calories and adding in different foods and some carbs and to be honest I've had a few treats here and there; I honestly believe the bypass has completely changed my metabolism and how my body processes calories ? I'm not counting calories as much and enjoying my new life. I'm just wanting people to see it is possible to be successful. Today weigh in - 162.8. that's 159.2lbs lost and that is amazing literally HALF MY BODY WEIGHT GONE......
  3. Personally I felt bloated for days maybe even a week before I felt normal the pain was in my belly was unbearable for the first few days but I think I have low pain tolerance...
  4. I know how you feel but I'm telling you it is possible to change... I literally woke up one day and decided that's it I'm done with the junk and gave it away to my friends and committed myself to eating right from that day on... I actually lost 60lbs before surgery and I've since lost another 99lbs and way below goal with the bypass
  5. Surgery was the best decision ever... I've lost weight before but it always came back on.. but with the bypass I've lost more than ever and kept it off for months now and feel amazing...
  6. He should love you no matter what and same for me I hadn't had surgery since I was a teenage for my appendix..
  7. Well I had the RNY bypass as well and I had no choice every time I saw someone I had looked different as I was losing about 20lbs a month and ended up losing a total of 158lbs
  8. Obviously depends on how much money you have to spare
  9. Yes as above I was only on shakes for weeks before surgery
  10. Have you had surgery or are you just researching options
  11. Don't stress it is still early days....
  12. I didn't touch rice until 6 months out and even then it felt heavy in my stomach as it is like glue
  13. Well it depends on their BMI and the surgeon you're dealing with if they will even do a bypass surgery; but from experience I had the RNY bypass and had not one single issue and lost ALL my excess weight.. Your friend needs to research more before deciding if they want to put their body through surgery for only 50lbs?
  14. Fruit has sugar and carbs so it may affect your belly
  15. Well done finally making the decision. I had the bypass it was a quick surgery and easy recovery... Admittedly I was only 322 highest weight and a male but 35, so we're similar age. The bypass really worked well for me but I was very strict and no cheating or anything for a long time I've had great results lost all my excess weight and been in maintenance now for 2 months. It is possible you just have to be 110% mentally prepared for the changes ahead..
  16. What surgery did you have? Did you do a preop diet? What's your starting weight? Lots of factors determine weight loss
  17. That's rough did you have any gerd symptoms before surgery? If it keeps causing you trouble you may need a revision surgery
  18. Excuse me I was giving honest advice.. it is beneficial to get help if needed.. there's nothing wrong with asking for help.... Most surgeons ask for psychological help to deal with the changes in your life that come with surgery.. nobody is perfect.. And I'm allowed to give advice because I've been through it and have been successful so I'm offering encouragement and inspiration to show it is possible...
  19. I started at BMI 43 and I'm now BMI 22.2 lost all 100 % my excess weight and below goal weight but had the bypass
  20. Is your surgeons office asking for you to see a psychologist to help with your food addiction? It might be a good idea
  21. Sorry I think with your low BMI you will find it hard to get surgery at least from my experience?
  22. It is a huge change but your body will get used to it. I was on shakes only for my preop and only taking in like 500 calories a day..
