  1. Yep all comes down to how strict and diligent you are with your diet
  2. Follow the plan don't be in a rush to move to solids because your weight will slow down
  3. I'll speak for myself I started at 322 and I'm now 165lbs and I had RNY gastric bypass and had no issues at all.. lost all my excess weight and only took 8 months I had a lot of restriction for months and lived off shakes. Didn't even feel like eating had no urge at all for months..
  4. Water and shakes for me from the 2nd day in hospital and liquid diet for the first month with my RNY.
  5. Not sure what it was or what I ate but I had a bunch of prunelax tablets and some psyllium husk pills and after few hours I was going to the toilet and the next day I was better and lost that bit of water weight and back to normal now
  6. Sorry but I needed to share. I'm not sure why but the first time for me I've been feeling really bloated in my belly like never before. Feels tight and uncomfortable. I'm 8 months post RNY. I will admit I've had some sugary things this week but it never bothered me like this before. Feel like I need to go toilet but nothing happening. Might need to get some laxatives tomorrow. Been trying coffee and vitamin C I'm not sure what it is I might have missed a couple days of vitamins but nothing major. For the first time in months I feel like I'm retaining water or something..... my sleeping hasn't been good this week either and if I don't sleep enough I don't drop water weight either.. Hopefully it will pass in a few days... Really uncomfortable feeling...
  7. Hopefully your life is more under control now so that you have time to commit to the bypass surgery otherwise If you face similar issues you may face the same challenges. But I only dump if I have something high sugar or fatty content which is obviously rarely. You need to learn to eat clean and healthy again.
  8. Hopefully you don't have issues with reflux
  9. Yes personally it keeps me on track so I don't get complacent
  10. Sometimes you can extend your liquid diet if you're having trouble with food..
  11. 6 months after beginning my diet journey. I had lost 150lbs but I was very strict on myself... started at 322... 6ft0 Male.
  12. There's multiple reasons for not smoking. The chemicals in nicotine will definitely interfere with your healing and your breathing and every organ in your body. Most surgeons won't operate on someone that is not serious enough to make changes to save their lives...
  13. I will say I'm early days but I've lost all my excess weight and below the goals doctor set for me. I lost exactly 157lbs in 8 months that included 2 months before surgery. It's now 8 months since surgery and I've been maintaining well. I guess for me personally I stayed on liquids looking term literally with the bypass I had no urge to eat for months and protein shakes kept me satisfied... I was very strict on myself weighing every and tracking every single little thing I consumed. I logged everything and kept on top of it and had next to no carbs for months. It's only recently I've been exploring more real food and meals but still seem to be maintaining well... The bypass seems to have totally changed my metabolism because I will admit I've had some treats whilst in maintenance and not gained at all... I started at 322lbs and now most days I'm 165lbs and I look great and feel great with BMI of 22.2 :)
  14. Yeah it's awesome isn't it how well the bypass works
  15. Same with @catwoman7 Im one of a very few that made it to a healthy BMI of 22.2 and lost all my excess weight! Was not easy at all took a lot of commitment.
  16. Haha that's cool sorry whenever I see spelling or grammar mistakes my brain goes wild
  17. I'm only 8 months out but If I have certain carbs it will mean hunger
  18. Just be calm... also is your username a deliberate spelling
  19. Yes exactly what I said yesterday that dr. Will set an easy goal weight so most people are able to reach it and feel good but it is possible to lose 100%
  20. I would be looking closely at every thing you put in your mouth unless you have a metabolic disorder it's near impossible to not lose weight when only on liquids...
  21. Most PT and dietitian always set a high weight goal to give people realistic expectations as most people don't lose all 100% EBW but that BMI of 30 they are giving you is irresponsible. My surgeon and dietitian both gave me vague goals but I always had my own personal goals in mind and luckily with hard work I've flown passed every goal I set and have been maintaining well for 2 months with BMI of 22
  22. Have you decided on the sleeve over BYPASS? Being that you're at 350 you'll need to lose at least 150lbs
