Hi! Your stats are similar to mine. My highest was 365 - surgery weight was 327 (on 10/10/18) and current weight is around 312. And today I went to the gym for the first time in 10 years!! I went with a friend who has a membership. I did 25 minutes on the treadmill which isn’t super long but I DID IT! And then I JOINED the gym so I can go anytime now!! I plan to go again tomorrow and shoot for 30 minutes!! 👍

When I came home from the hospital I weighed myself the next morning (I was stupid - they told me not to). I figured I would be down because I hadn’t eaten in 3 days. I had GAINED 9lbs!! I couldn’t believe it! But then I realized since I hadn’t eaten if was obviously all the fluids they pumped on me! By my 2 week post-op appointment (my surgeon doesn’t do 1 week) I had lost THOSE 9 lbs plus 10 more!! So down overall 10lbs in 2 weeks! My point is - especially right after surgery you can’t stress about the weight because you probably still have Fluid in you. As long as you are drinking your Water and getting your Protein in you will do great! Good luck!!

CyndieRI got a reaction from GreenTealael in Supportive spouses?
My husband was and is still unsupportive. I had wanted WLS for years but he was very against it so I never went through with it. This time I went through all the appointments and got my surgery date before I even mentioned it to him. So instead of a discussion, I TOLD him I was having surgery on October 10th. Then we very rarely discussed it. He did not bring me to the hospital on the day of my surgery and originally was going to be out of town that day. Eventually he moved around his schedule and he was there after I got out of surgery. I knew I needed to do this for ME and I just wasn’t going to let him derail me once again! I’m only 3 weeks out (tomorrow) but I’m SO glad I did it!

    I wish you the best!!

Yes the Water n Protein was so hard to do for me at the beginning but i realize its importance so much more now plus consuming it today was not as hard as it was in the beginning when I first started 6 days ago.
    Thanks all

    Hi All,
7 month out and I am about 15 pounds away from goal and finally under 200 pounds. Started at 318 and down to 198. My dr stated that getting the last 15 pounds will take some time and now that I am so close to goal. Feeling good and so happy with my decision.

I just reached 6 months 5 days ago and I'm 103lbs down. I went from 340lbs to 237! I'm proud but the weight loss has slowed down immensely. I need to start working out![emoji24]

At one week I was drinking Protein Shakes, sugar free popsicles, Jello, maybe a few bites of yogurt. No way thinking of getting a chicken bowl. Call your surgeons office or doctor cause your food plan is nothing I've ever heard one week after surgery.

Right after surgery please just concentrate on healing and letting the swelling go down, your health is more important than the scale. I actually didn’t think about the scale right away, when I went for my first post op visit that’s when I found out how much I had lost. Trust me the weight is going to come off but it takes time and patience. Everyone’s been there. Your new sleeve is a tool to help you lose weight, stick to the plan and do your part and the sleeve will do its part.

I wish you all the best on your journey!

Everything and nothing is normal. Words like ONLY aren't good friends either. What if overnight you lost 3lbs or more? Would you be asking the same question if that had happened?
Don't do this to yourself. Please! The weight loss will happen. Do what you've been instructed to do and the pounds will come off. You'll just make yourself crazy if you keep up this mindset.

I would be LIVID if this happened to me and I didn’t want my coworkers to know!!! What did you say to the HR person! And definitely your doctor’s office should not have said where they were calling from. I’m so sorry this happened to you! 😰

When I woke up PO, I screamed, "I'M ALIVE?!" to which the entire room started laughing!
Then, the unthinkable happened later on that day....I had a vasovagal syncopal episode on my first walk PO, passed out, fell face first on the tiled floor (nurse present😒), unconscious for more than a minute, full code called, concussion...still suffering from that (may not resolve for 3 months), while the surgery itself has been smooth sailing. Go figure!

    Ok, here's a comical one.
In the first few weeks after surgery when my gut was completely wonky, I had a lil accident...thinking I was farting...while out shopping with my bestie.
She ran and bought me a new pair of underpants and wet wipes while I hid in the bathroom cringing. OMG...
Yep, pooping your pants in Kohl's is drama:)

I too have started taking Smooth Move at night whenever I notice it's been a couple of days.
Actually, I've started typing a poop emoji into my calendar on days when I've gone because it's way too easy for me to let days pass before I realize that something has been missing, and in my experience by the time you realize you haven't gone in several days that boulder of death has already formed and is waiting around the bend!

Oh no! That is such a HIPPA violation...especially sad coming from HR!!! You have every right to be upset and to submit a formal complaint. Oregon Bariatric was in the wrong for disclosing who they were and so was your HR colleague who yelled across the room.

I tend not to buy from the site. I make my own using my crock pot or Instant pot. The ones you can buy tend to have too much sodium or even soy. Soy is bad for me since I have PCOS. I make Soups and then freeze them in individual containers. I pop one out for lunch for work or even dinner.

If this is how we measure then I should probably leave now, my reputation score is way lower than my no of posts. Maybe Im not likeable or my posts are useless or maybe it has something to do with the way the system worked when it was still LBT.
Personally I find all the liking a bit shallow, we shouldn’t be in a competition for likes, especially as a lot of the likes are for posts that may have been amusing rather than helpful.
This should not be a popularity contest
To the OP yes things do sometimes get really annoying. Sometimes moving on and ignoring something is better than responding but that is not easy, I know it’s something I really struggle to do.
Whilst this site. may not be perfect in general I still find it a lot better than the alternatives. Some of the peeps on the other site are so sanctimonious I’m surprised they have received their sainthoods yet

@CrankyMagpie reputation used to decrease, but then the options that would do that were removed for whatever reason. I don't pay attention to the scores, but if you look, if someone's got more posts than reputation, kinda sheds a light on their posts... if they post more than people liking the posts that they are posting... then it's clear that their posts aren't being liked for whatever reason.

Sorry someone did that to you... that's pretty uncalled for.
