Getting cold feet, normal?
Just remember why you want it in the first place. Start making changes now if possible because later you will not have a choice, The more weight you can take off now, the more of a head start you will have later. I know we want to eat everything under the sun because we feel like we will never be able to eat that stuff again, but that is simply not true. Yes your taste buds will change and there will be some foods you cannot tolerate, but you can actually eat those foods in moderation as time goes on. The only true food funeral i had was post surgery when i realized after 3 tries my stomach could not tolerate chicken anymore.. Hopefully that changes as i am still new to the Bariatric world! I was literally almost in tears lol because i couldnt eat chicken! We are going to try one more time today.. but a ground form in my enchiladas i am making.. if today doesnt work.. then i will give up trying for a while.

That is too funny. Congratulations!

100 lbs in under a year?
Exactly! I am in the same boat. I look at this tool as a way to stay on track and not get off track because you now have a restriction that will keep you where you are supposed to be,

Post Op Bra Size
i am hoping my start shrinking soon. All i hear now is your boobs are not really noticeable! They havent gone down at all. My band size has gone down, but that is about it. I measured my chest this morning as there were some new bras on sale, and yep my band size went from a 48 to a 42 but the cup size has not moved! LOL and i am almost down 70 pounds! I will wait a few more months and see if they start getting smaller.

Smooth Sailing for Anyone?
Everythinganna.. Where in FL are you at? Just curious?

Smooth Sailing for Anyone?
my doctor is also 3 hours away, but i found a local support group at the hospital here. YOu will be surprised at how welcoming they are for patients that had their surgery elsewhere. Check around your local area for a support group there at one of the hospitals and see if you can join the post op support group.

Smooth Sailing for Anyone?
the best thing i can recommend is read the threads, get as much information as possible and be prepared for whatever comes your way.. that way you will know how to deal with it if something does happen, and it will make the transition a lot easier. I went in fully aware of what may happen, i also went in full of faith and knew in my heart i was doing the right thing. I approached the surgery as just another task that needed to be completed, we are all different but i truly believe that if you go in uneducated that you will come out on the other side not knowing how to handle some things.

Smooth Sailing for Anyone?
I was sleeved on 11/8 and have had zero complications. (knock on wood). The only thing I am dealing with is constipation, but am now taking ducolax per my surgeon and so far this week it has been much better. Other than that. Nothing. I woke up from the anesthesia and not once used the pain meds in the hospital nor after discharge. I was up and walking same day. Had surgery on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday. Once I was cleared for exercise right before Christmas, I went back to my ballroom dance classes and am now going to the gym. I will be 3 mo post op on Friday. I have not experienced hair loss as of yet, but am expecting to have to deal with it as I hear it is unevitable, but will see what happens.

I dont know why im losing motivation to exercise and im only 2weeks post-op HELP!
give it time. you are fresh out of surgery. I am almost 3 months post op and am just now going to the gym. I went back to my dance classes at Christmas, but only now do I have the energy to do both. Give yourself some healing time before you expect too much out of yourself.

Calcium Caltrate w/vit D
How do these watermelon taste? I have the café mocha!

To snack in between meals or not to snack
I do not snack between meals. I stick to the 3 meals a day and one protein shake somewhere between work and the gym.
-
Has this happened to you?
I hope you are well soon.. I am sorry you have to go through this.

Calcium Caltrate w/vit D
I take the celebrate Soft Chews.. No pic because it is at home. My mulitivitamin from pro Care health has the iron, so i only have to take 2 different things a day besides the Biotin i take each morning.

4 days and counting
Try not to stock up on too much stuff as your taste buds will change. Your Dr. may also give you a script for b12 shots instead of taking them orally. Just remember, take your time, drink (sip) slow and when you get to the food stages to go very slow. Something you may really enjoy you may want to eat bite after bite but it will make you not feel so good. Take a few minutes between bites and put your fork or spoon down to give it time to settle.

3 down 1 to go!

Protein Shake Mix-Eggnog and Waffles
I scored some protein mix from Inspire with an eggnog flavor. I have been looking for a sugar free eggnog flavor syrup so i could make my own to no avail over the holidays. I saw this stuff online on sale for 15 a bag for 20 servings.. and Bam.. got me a few bags since it was a Christmas Clearance item so i could shake things up a bit. The only downfall is there is only 20g of protein per serving instead of 30..BUT since our bodies can only process 30 at a time, I am ok with that, I will use Milk for the eggnog and increase the protein to 28.. while i use water with the ones that are already 30 since it is pointless ( other than make your shake more creamy) to use milk with the 30g protein mix that is just vanilla or chocolate. On another note: I found a recipe on FB that i thought i would share here for Waffles!!! Best darn waffles i have ever tasted! 1Scoop Vanilla protein powder ( last night i ventured and made it with Eggnog.. It was good.. but dont put butter on it LOL) 1 egg 1 tsp baking powder 3 tbps water Mix well and cook in your waffle iron YUM!! PS- I was told if you add a 1tsp of baking soda.. it makes wonderful pancakes as well ( not replace, but add- i asked for clarification on that one) I may try that this weekend.
