I haven't tried either of those. I'm a little hesitant with sites I need to pay for. Granted I understand the whole you get what you pay for thing. Having to pay for something generally weed out the less than serious types that are just looking for booty calls. I've nothing against the hookups I just don't know if it's something i could do..

Thank you for replying. Any ideas on where to meet people? I've tried dating sites in the past but was never met with anything other than "Hey do you wanna hook up?" kind of messages.

I have been single for a very long time at least 10 years. I never thought myself to be worthy of a relationship prior because I was ashamed of how I looked. Now that I have had bypass surgery and have lost a total of 180 lbs from my highest weight I'd like to find someone. Don't get me wrong I still have a long way to go on this journey I am still very much over weight but not nearly as over weight as I once was. I still have self esteem issues but I think putting myself out there and dating again could help with that too. It's been so long since I've went through the dating phase it's like I've forgotten how to date I have no idea where to even start. I am quite shy in person so that tends to be off putting to some.. any ideas or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I was on them last year..they are outrageously expensive I was lucky enough to have a doctor that gave me samples so I wouldn't have to pay for it. But Saxenda and Victoza are exactly the same drug just different brands. There is no difference in the one being lower than the other. When I went to the pharmacy though Victoza was cheaper than Saxenda.

To much of certain vitamins aren't good for you and can cause problems. For example to much Calcium can cause kidney stones or gall stones. I'd stick to whatever was recommended that you take.

The day after I got home from surgery. Everything from the tiny Protonix pills to the huge Citracal pills have been no physical problem to swallow for me.

I have been on Bumble for a few months and really like it. If you aren't familiar, it's like Tinder, but when you "match" someone the female always has to send the first message if you are interested in the match. So I get to control if I really want to talk to someone or not. I've been on a lot of just drink dates that have fizzled into nothing more than a one time date, but it's helping me be way more social and help with my anxiety issues. I might have lost almost 100lbs, but my anxiety is just as strong as it was when I was the overweight girl

I have been on and off dating sites for longer than I would like to admit
I have found that free sites like POF, OKC, were all about hook ups. Nothing wrong with that, but not what I was looking for.
Match seems to be less hook up oriented, so I've had the best luck there. So I'd say pay sites are better, BUT, I was on Elite singles and Bagels and coffee and it seemed most the profiles were fake.
I generally dislike dating, especially first dates. But I just put my best foot forward, be myself, open and honest, and hope they are the same.

True enough there is no falsehoods when chatting about a mutual interest. There is no reason to be boastful. It's a nice easy way to get comfortable with someone at the same time.

I didn't tell anyone that I was having surgery or even thinking about it. I live in Canada so our process is different. We can't just walk into a surgeons office and say I want such a d such surgery how much is it. All of our surgeries (unless cosmetic) are covered by our healthcare/government. So you need to be referred ect. Anyway, when I started the process I didn't tell anyone. I knew what i wanted and didn't want to deal with the drama and people thinking they could talk me out of doing it. So I asked my doctor to refer me to my local bariatric clinic. It took 18 months to get into the program. But was so worth the wait. Not only would they be doing the surgery but I had unlimited access to a psychologist, dietician, nurse, doctor, surgeon and other specialists. They taught me a lot, how to maintain weight, the healthy way of eating. What to expect before and after surgery...and so much more. It was 9 months after joining the clinic that I met with my surgeon and signed my consent forms for surgery. 2 months after that I started my epic long liquid diet. Just before I started my liquid diet is when I told close friends and family. As I would have to explain why I wasn't eating and only drinking shakes anyway. By then I think they thought it was to late to talk me out of it anyway as I had RNY bypass 4.5 months later. Now, however I tell people. If someone asks me how I've lost weight I tell them from portion and calorie control as well as having surgery to help me. Most are genuinely curious about the surgery. So I look at it as a chance to educate and squash so many of the misconceptions about having weight loss surgery.

It might be to dry. Try eating it with a little gravy or something to moisten it. That's what my dietician suggested for me and it worked.

Just an addition: you can go to Meetup.com instead of downloading an app if you want. It's a little overwhelming in urban areas, where there's a meetup for every interest you can think of! In rural areas it's a bit easier to see all your options (because there are fewer of them).

I was 33 when I had my RNY. 3 months before my 34th birthday. I went to my doctor 1 month before my 31st birthday and asked him to refer me to my local clinic that deals with obesity. If I could get into the clinic I wouldn't have to pay for the surgery. The clinic does have a long wait list though. I waited 18 months to get into the clinic. I definitely wish I had of done it sooner but for me it was a matter of stubbornness I didnt want to admit that I had a problem and needed help..so I ignored it until I couldn't ignore it any longer.
